This book is also loaded with new information on the history, production, unit organization, issue, tactics, and wartime reports from front-line units. Book excerpt: Panzer Tracts No. 5-2 - Panzerkampfwagen PantherAusf.AWe spent hundreds of hours accurately measuring survivors and hundreds of days drawing at full-scale to create as-built drawings for the first time - accurate to the same tight tolerances demanded of the original assembly firms. Hundreds of research hours went into finding the numerous previously unnoticed modifications. Many of these newly discovered details would remain hidden if printed as 1/35th scale overview drawings. Therefore, we have selected the unique approach of using 1/10th scale drawings to illustrate the smallest details on components; while six-view (including right side and belly) 1/35th scale drawings are still used for the complete Panther. We also created flat-plane drawings of many components to aid modelers make accurate parts that are hard to replicate when only drawn at angle. Book excerpt: Germany was at the forefront of the development of armoured cars during the First World War, however with the end of the war in November of 1918 and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 the victorious allies imposed a complete ban on the Germany army being equipped with any armoured vehicles including armoured cars. In the early 1920's. The "Zusatz von Bologne" which was an amendum to the Treaty of Versailles allowed the German Army to produce armoured cars primarily for policing duties and eventually this gave rise to the Sd.Kfz. 13 series in the early 1930's, however with the Nazi party takeover of Germany in 1933 new 4-wheeled armour cars were ordered and they were all to be based on the Horch off road heavy passenger chassis, they were numbered Sd.Kfz. 221, 222 and 223 the same chassis was also developed in to the Sd.Kfz. 260 and 261 radio command vehicles. This publication covers the German 4 wheeled cars in great photographical detail focusing on the armoured cars and their crews as they dealt with the conditions and circumstances they found themselves in, photographs from the author's own collection have been used to ilistrate this book that were taken by the average German soldier not official army cameramen who's photos are well known and have been published over and over again already.

Book Synopsis The Armoured Forces of the Bulgarian Army, 1936-45 by : Kaloyan Matev
Download or read book The Armoured Forces of the Bulgarian Army, 1936-45 written by Kaloyan Matev and published by . This book was released on 2014-01-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a detailed history of motor vehicles and armored fighting vehicles in the Bulgarian Army from 1936, during the last years of peace, until the end of the Second World War in 1945. For much of this period, Bulgaria was allied to Germany. The Bulgarian Army was mainly equipped with German weapons, or equipment captured by the Germans and then sold to Bulgaria. The negotiations as well as supplies of motor vehicles and armored vehicles are described at length. The combat service of the army's armored units is also described in detail, firmly based on archival research. Despite Bulgaria's entry into World War II as early as 1941, the only military actions during the first period of the war were related to the occupation of parts of Yugoslavia and Greece. The real combat service of the Bulgarian Army began in September 1944 against its former ally, the Germans. The delivery of armored fighting vehicles for 1st Bulgarian Army from the Soviet 3rd Ukrainian Front 1945 is described in detail. Until very recently, the fate of all armored fighting vehicles in the Bulgarian Army in 1945 remained completely unknown. The classified status of the documents prevented any detailed study. However, this is now possible, and full coverage is provided. In addition to a detailed narrative, the author also provides full information covering camouflage, markings, and unit insignia. The authoritative text is supported by over 600 photographs (the majority of them previously unpublished), color profiles showing camouflage, markings, color unit insignia and color battle maps. This book is a result of the author's years of study in the Bulgarian Central Military Archive. Such a detailed study on this topic has not appeared before, and the author's work is unlikely to be superseded.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Panzer Tracts No. 2-2 - Panzerkampwagen II Ausf.G, H, J, L, and M development and production from 1938 to 1943. As a result of digging through public and private archives for 38 years, we are able to create this accurate history of the very rare variants from the Pz.Kpfw.II family - the VK 901, VK 903, VK 1301, VK 1303, and VK 1601. Original drawings, documented measurements, and original wartime photographs were used to create four-view drawings of the VK 901 and VK 1601 (printed at 1/35th scale). Over a thousand hours were spent precisely measuring external details of the "Luchs" in order to create as-built drawings of all six views (including right side and belly) with both the VK 1301 and VK 1303 turrets in 1/24th scale. Even the smallest details are clearly discernable in the component drawings at 1/10th scale including the surprise feature of an Orterkompass mounted on the turret roof. This 56 page book is illustrated with over 50 drawings and 41 clean/rare photos.

This book was released on 2006-08-25 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: German Panzer ace Michael Wittmann was by far the most famous tank commander on any side in World War II, destroying 138 enemy tanks and 132 anti-tank guns with his Tiger. In this continuation of his story, Volume Two follows Wittmann and his unit into Normandy to defend against the Allied invasion and provides maps, official documents, newspaper clippings, and orders of battle. A week after D-Day, Wittmann achieved his greatest success. On June 13, 1944, near Villers Bocage, the panzer ace and his crew attacked a British armored unit, single-handedly destroying more than a dozen tanks and preventing an enemy breakthrough. The exploit made Wittmann a national hero in Germany and a legend in the annals of war. He was killed two months later while attempting to repulse an Allied assault, but the book continues beyond his death until the Leibstandarte's surrender.
