Book excerpt: Few realize a New World Order plans to replace our constitution with a Single World Government, nor that our Federal Reserve Bank is privately owned and is not subject to oversight by Congress or the President. Its stockholders include the Rockefellers, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers of New York; the Rothschild's of London and Berlin; the Lazard Brothers of Paris; Israel Seiff of Italy; the Kuhn & Loeb Company of Germany; and the Warburgs of Hamburg and Amsterdam, earning almost two billion dollars a day in interest as they buy off our dysfunctional Congress and intentionally level this great nation. George H. W. Bush, the undisputed "Overlord" of the Shrub Dynasty, in his State of the Union Message in 1991 said: "What is at stake is more than one small country, it is a big idea - a new world order." Did We the People ever agree to this treasonous act of turning over our nation's sovereignty to a Single World Government? About the Author John R. Krismer, MHA-LFACHE is founder and CEO of Health Systems Institute, consulting with governments, hospitals, clinics, and professional organizations. He has conducted hundreds of educational institutes, and served as a principal investigator, researching the health record database system, which involved four major universities. He has served as CEO of several hospitals and corporations, and as a board member of two health insurance companies. He has been referred to as a visionary ahead of his time.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The early twenty-first century has seen an explosion of animation. Cartoon characters are everywhere—in cinema, television, and video games and as brand logos. There are new technological objects that seem to have lives of their own—from Facebook algorithms that suggest products for us to buy to robots that respond to human facial expressions. The ubiquity of animation is not a trivial side-effect of the development of digital technologies and the globalization of media markets. Rather, it points to a paradigm shift. In the last century, performance became a key term in academic and popular discourse: The idea that we construct identities through our gestures and speech proved extremely useful for thinking about many aspects of social life. The present volume proposes an anthropological concept of animation as a contrast and complement to performance: The idea that we construct social others by projecting parts of ourselves out into the world might prove useful for thinking about such topics as climate crisis, corporate branding, and social media. Like performance, animation can serve as a platform for comparisons of different cultures and historical eras. Teri Silvio presents an anthropology of animation through a detailed ethnographic account of how characters, objects, and abstract concepts are invested with lives, personalities, and powers—and how people interact with them—in contemporary Taiwan. The practices analyzed include the worship of wooden statues of Buddhist and Daoist deities and the recent craze for cute vinyl versions of these deities, as well as a wildly popular video fantasy series performed by puppets. She reveals that animation is, like performance, a concept that works differently in different contexts, and that animation practices are deeply informed by local traditions of thinking about the relationships between body and soul, spiritual power and the material world. The case of Taiwan, where Chinese traditions merge with Japanese and American popular culture, uncovers alternatives to seeing animation as either an expression of animism or as “playing God.” Looking at the contemporary world through the lens of animation will help us rethink relationships between global and local, identity and otherness, human and non-human.

Book excerpt: "The Empire Strikes a Match in a World Full of Oil is a book about justice and about history. The history is a history of American expansionism which has evolved into a plan for world domination, seemingly a plan to make the world safe for American democracy. The plan isn't new. Nearly fifty years ago our text book on American history, taught at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown U. by a close Kennedy advisor, was entitled Empire for Liberty. Before we proceed further however we, as Americans, need to ask 'at what price?' The price is too high, because unlike successful empires that dominate and exploit their backward neighbors, America shares world power with other nations. Even though we tower over any one of them, we cannot dominate them all. This book concludes by defining the choice America faces at this moment -- the choice between endless war against large and growing powers on the one hand and a world that has submitted to the rule of law on the other. But it is not an appeal to world government either; not a call for another layer of administration and invasive rules. It is an appeal for a world legal system in which free nations freely interact."

Book excerpt: Now in Mass Market. An Epic Battle Against Mind-Controlling Alien Invaders as Only Robert A. Heinlein, the Best-Selling Grand Master of Science Fiction, Could Tell It. “One of the most influential writers in American literature.” —The New York Times Book Review. First came the news that a flying saucer had landed in Iowa. Then came the announcement that the whole thing was a hoax. End of story. Case closed. Except that two agents of the most secret intelligence agency in the U.S. government were on the scene and disappeared without reporting in. And four more agents who were sent in also disappeared. So the head of the agency and his two top agents went in and managed to get out with their discovery: an invasion is underway by slug-like aliens who can touch a human and completely control his or her mind. What the humans know, they know. What the slugs want, no matter what, the human will do. And most of Iowa is already under their control. Sam Cavanaugh was one of the agents who discovered the truth. Unfortunately, that was just before he was taken over by one of the aliens and began working for the invaders, with no will of his own. And he has just learned that a high official in the Treasury Department is now under control of the aliens. Since the Treasury Department includes the Secret Service, which safeguards the President of the United States, control of the entire nation is near at hand .

Book excerpt: Based upon her own words, this is the story of a unique individual whose deep love for her native country was overshadowed only by her compelling love for freedom. Born with a pedigree of royalty reaching back to the Byzantine Empire, and riches comparable to the American Rockerfellers, this princess seemed destined to a life of pampered luxury and perhaps a noble charity. Life, however, doesn't always follow the script... especially someone with Catherine's character. In Love With Freedom, a sweeping story of one woman's remarkable lifetime of triumph and tragedy in the kaleidoscope of the twentieth century. The story begins with a toddler snatched from her mother's bosom by her evil father and hidden for thirteen years in a series of orphanages, a pawn in a high stakes game of ransom and revenge. The plucky, fearless, and resourceful child at last escapes and crosses Europe, eventually arriving in Romania on the Orient Express and is declared a princess... but that is only the beginning of her journey. Catherine learns to be a princess, wife, and mother through World War I, the Depression, and epidemics. Yet it is World War II that is her defining moment. Learn how this woman of less than five feet of stature stands up to the despicable Gestapo and the mighty Nazi Armies; earns the moniker 'the Angel of Ploesti' from the 1400 American POWs that are torn from the angry skies of Hitler's most heavily protected resource - Romania's, Catherine's oil fields; and then survives the starvation, pogroms, and death of the Soviet 'liberation' of Eastern Europe. What can she do to escape the barbarism? What can she do to help her country and all those oppressed by the horrors of Communism and dicatorships? The answers are truly amazing and inspiring.

Book excerpt: THE MISSING YEARS FROM THE GREATEST CRIME SAGA OF ALL TIME Thirty-five years ago, Mario Puzo’s great American tale, The Godfather, was published, and popular culture was indelibly changed. Now, in The Godfather Returns, acclaimed novelist Mark Winegardner continues the story–the years not covered in Puzo’s bestselling book or in Francis Ford Coppola’s classic films. It is 1955. Michael Corleone has won a bloody victory in the war among New York’s crime families. Now he wants to consolidate his power, save his marriage, and take his family into legitimate businesses. To do so, he must confront his most dangerous adversary yet, Nick Geraci, a former boxer who worked his way through law school as a Corleone street enforcer, and who is every bit as deadly and cunning as Michael. Their personal cold war will run from 1955 to 1962, exerting immense influence on the lives of America’s most powerful criminals and their loved ones, including Tom Hagen, the Corleone Family’s lawyer and consigliere, who embarks on a political career in Nevada while trying to protect his brother; Francesca Corleone, daughter of Michael’s late brother Sonny, who is suddenly learning her family’s true history and faces a difficult choice; Don Louie Russo, head of the Chicago mob, who plays dumb but has wily ambitions for muscling in on the Corleones’ territory; Peter Clemenza, the stalwart Corleone underboss, who knows more Family secrets than almost anyone; Ambassador M. Corbett Shea, a former Prohibition-era bootlegger and business ally of the Corleones’, who wants to get his son elected to the presidency–and needs some help from his old friends; Johnny Fontane, the world’s greatest saloon singer, who ascends to new heights as a recording artist, cozying up to Washington’s power elite and maintaining a precarious relationship with notorious underworld figures; Kay Adams Corleone, who finally discovers the truth about her husband, Michael–and must decide what it means for their marriage and their children and Fredo Corleone, whose death has never been fully explained until now, and whose betrayal of the Family was part of a larger and more sinister chain of events. Sweeping from New York and Washington to Las Vegas and Cuba, The Godfather Returns is the spellbinding story of America’s criminal underworld at mid-century and its intersection with the political, legal, and entertainment empires. Mark Winegardner brings an original voice and vision to Mario Puzo’s mythic characters while creating several equally unforgettable characters of his own. The Godfather Returns stands on its own as a triumph–in a tale about what we love, yearn for, and sometimes have reason to fear . . . family.
