Book excerpt: No hay duda de que los fondos de protocolos hispanos son uno de los conjuntos documentales más extraordinarios, por la antigüedad, la continuidad y la significación de sus series. Asimismo, son los más consultados por un amplio abanico de usuarios que acuden a nuestros archivos, de una forma especial a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX y considerado el carácter interdisciplinar de esta fuente. Por ello, este trabajo se configura como un manual básico sobre los archivos notariales o de protocolos, en el que se concede clara prioridad a los aspectos técnicos y archivísticos y se obvian otros relacionados con el derecho o la diplomática, ya tratados en diferentes esferas. Se trata de un manual de archivística sectorial, conciso, claro y con una cierta intencionalidad pedagógica, pero madurado de forma que pueda responder con precisión y certeza a las cuestiones clave que puedan plantearse un archivero, un opositor de cualquiera de nuestros cuerpos profesionales o un usuario de estos ricos fondos documentales.
