This book shows you how to become successful and live with purpose by sharing the secrets hidden in an ancient parable, which holds the universal laws of prosperity. The Servant With One Talent is an instant classic that holds the key to all you desire and everything you wish to accomplish. Through the story of the unprofitable and lazy servant in ancient Babylon, Michael V. Ivanov provides a unique perspective on the classic parable of the talents. This book provides concrete advice for creating a successful and purposeful life while fulfilling your destiny and becoming the person you were created to be. While many people are burying their dreams, talents, skills and abilities in the desert, like the unprofitable servant did at the beginning of this story, the successful are investing into their skills, talents, and abilities. The Five success principles covered in this book include: To each, according to his abilities. A talent buried is a talent lost. Do not concern yourself with your neighbor's wages The time is now. To those who have, much more will be given, from those who have not, what little they have will be taken from them. Find "The Mount of Olives: 11 Declarations to an extraordinary life," Michael V. Ivanov's first book, and "The Traveler's Secret: Ancient proverbs for better living," Michael V. Ivanov's second book to see the praise for his work.

Book Synopsis A Book about the Film Monty Python's Life of Brian by : Darl Larsen
Download or read book A Book about the Film Monty Python's Life of Brian written by Darl Larsen and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2018-02-15 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a follow-up to their first true feature film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the comic troupe next decided to tackle a “shadow” version of the Christ story. Shot in the Middle East and produced during Margaret Thatcher’s ascendant years, the film satirized—among other matters—authoritarianism and religious zealotry. Upon its release, Monty Python’s Life of Brian was both a critical and commercial success, and has been since hailed as one of the greatest comedies of all time. But the film also faced backlash from religious groups for its blasphemy, perceived or otherwise. In A Book about the Film Monty Python's Life of Brian: All of the References from Assyrians to Zeffirelli, Darl Larsen identifies and examines the plethora of cultural, historical, and topical allusions in the film. In this resource, Larsen delineates virtually every allusion and reference that appears in the film—from first-century Jerusalem through 1970s Great Britain. Organized chronologically by scene, the entries in this cultural history cover literary and metaphoric allusions, symbolisms, names, peoples, and places, as well as the many social, cultural, and historical elements that populate this film. By closely examining each scene, this book explores the Pythons’ comparisons of the Roman and British Empires and of Pilate and Margaret Thatcher. In addition, Larsen helps to situate Life of Brian in the “Jesus” re-examination of the postwar period, while also taking a close look at the terror groups of first-century Judea and the modern world. A Book about the Film Monty Python's Life of Brian will appeal to scholars of history, film, British culture, and pop culture, as well as to the many fans of this iconic group.

Download or read book Called to Serve written by Roberto Tinoco and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2023-11-28 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We have been called by God for the salvation of our souls, in order to live a life surrendered in worship of God; but also to have a productive life in all aspects. The child of God has been rescued from the world, transformed by God, and enabled to serve Christ, his church, and others. The Christian must dedicate his entire life to service. Therefore, serving must be one of the most beautiful obligations that the believer can develop in this world. When the child of God serves the Lord and other people, he can find purpose in his life and live with a satisfaction that lasts forever. Many Christians are consumers and not reproducers, that is, they continually need to be carried and supported since they have not grown enough to support themselves. So, we must ask ourselves, why does this happen? Why are many people in the local church inactive? Why do many Christians not know what to do with their lives? This book has been written with the purpose of helping the child of God know why he is here on earth, and how he can live a productive life in Christ. The objective of this book is to prepare and train children of God who have recently been baptized and who want to serve God, but do not know how or where to do so. Additionally, it tries to fill the need of those pastors who have new people who want to serve God. Therefore, this book can serve as material for the preparation of male and female servants for the work of God. Finally, the child of God will learn that his calling will be realized by serving in a local Church ministry.

Book Synopsis Obedience and Beyond by : Andrew Picklyk
Download or read book Obedience and Beyond written by Andrew Picklyk and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2016-06-16 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Obedience has always been considered a key aspect of faith: obedience to the word and will of God. If we do not do what is asked of us, and avoid doing what is prohibited, how can we say we truly follow His teachings? How can we claim to believe in His wisdom and guidance? And yet, when one looks more deeply into His teachings, scripture makes it clear that obedience is not enough. It is simply the starting point in our journey—a journey that will lead us to God and to becoming leaders in His sight. To blindly do as we are told is a beginning, but until we step into the kingship Jesus bought for us with his sacrifice at Calvary, we have not truly earned the place God has reserved for us in His kingdom. Christ asks us to follow Him until we learn to walk with Him—until we learn to lead with a servant's heart. But to do that, we must look beyond what is easy... or what is obvious. We must do more than obey. We must be more than servants following instructions. Instead, we need to think for ourselves, and act for ourselves, in accordance with his teachings. In Obedience and Beyond, his first published book, Andrew Picklyk uses scriptures, parables, and personalized sermons to clearly illustrate exactly what is expected of us and how we can move beyond servitude and into the kingship God has intended for us.

Book Synopsis Seasons of Singleness by : Rhunda Armstead
Download or read book Seasons of Singleness written by Rhunda Armstead and published by Fulton Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-12-26 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have often heard being single described as a season in life that will pass over time. To imply this, implies that singleness occurs as a pattern of events that come and go based on an allotted set of time, a season. Having been single all my adult life, I began to challenge that theory. First, seasons are reoccurring without a known end to the recurrence. Second, seasons are predictive and start and end times are usually defined. Third, seasons only last for a specified amount of time. Based on my personal experience, this does not describe singleness. While in my place of singleness, I have found myself going through several cycles that are recurrent, predictive, and last for allotted periods of time. These are the seasons of singleness! As with climate and culture seasons, I have learned that I must prepare, adapt, and adjust for the seasons I encounter while in my place of singleness.
