Oliver discovers to his horror that his Grandma, a famous psychic, hates cats. Her housekeeper, Lena loathes kids, and silent Justine seems to hate everyone. Add crazy Harriet, who has seen every fortune teller in London; Aura, a mysterious, aspiring beautiful actress and Bullet, the homeless kid with a very mean streak, trouble can't be far behind. When Oliver and Justine find a beautiful dog with it's throat cut washed up on the riverbank, Oliver feels a strange connection to this dead animal and so begins his own induction into a psychic world. ************** 'An engaging, unusual and completely engrossing read' - Beverly Birch - author of 'Rift'

Book excerpt: Oliver Stoll’s life has gone up in smoke. Literally. Escaping an apartment fire, he’s made it out with little more than the clothes on his back and his best friend and downstairs neighbor, Mia. With few other options, he agrees to stay with David Elliston, Mia’s older brother. David was Oliver’s first crush, first kiss, first everything. That is, until the day they broke up five years before. It hadn’t been pretty. David Elliston is back in town. Offered the chance to oversee the Kellmen Group’s newest magazine acquisition, he isn’t going to let a years old heartbreak stop him. But being thrown together with Oliver is harder than expected. And the flicker of hope he’s long tried to bury becomes even more difficult to contain. Ex-lovers, best friends, and angry parents don’t make the best backdrop for rekindling a romance. But it’s the lies from the past that might just extinguish any chance they have of starting over.

Book Synopsis The Feline Umbrella by : Roy D Perkins
Download or read book The Feline Umbrella written by Roy D Perkins and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2024-02-12 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of Yvonne Wilson, an accountant, and Oliver, a grossly overweight black-and-white tuxedo cat. Yvonne witnesses an execution-style murder of three people. Even with limited police protection and the promise of being put in the witness protection program, Yvonne fully realizes that MS-13 gang members or the mob are going to kill her. The mob has hired MS-13 gang members to expedite the matter. After believing that she is in a hopeless dilemma, Yvonne notices a huge black-and-white tuxedo cat that has just appeared in her living room. He is a talking cat named Oliver. Oliver explains that he was sent from heaven to protect Yvonne from the MS-13 gang members and the mob. He assures her that the mob/MS-13 cannot harm her. He will protect her until she dies a natural death. Yvonne soon realizes that Oliver can back up what he says. He has supernatural powers. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (can be in more than one place at the same time), and clairvoyant (can see into the future). Oliver is here for the duration. He will never leave her. After a while, Yvonne and Oliver grow on each other. They become inseparable. The story is full of love, and there is a human and feline bonding. Yvonne often shoots it out with MS-13 gang members and mobsters. Although close to a deity, Oliver does have some faults. He is always on a thin line between being a law officer and an outlaw. After he becomes an FBI agent, he takes some of his salary and donates the rest to charity. When he is short of cash, he prints $100 bills in Yvonne's basement. Since the bills are real, he can't be accused of counterfeiting.
