Download or read book Nuclear Moments written by H. Kopferman and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear Moments focuses on the processes, methodologies, reactions, and transformations of molecules and atoms, including magnetic resonance and nuclear moments. The book first offers information on nuclear moments in free atoms and molecules, including theoretical foundations of hyperfine structure, isotope shift, spectra of diatomic molecules, and vector model of molecules. The manuscript then takes a look at nuclear moments in liquids and crystals. Discussions focus on nuclear paramagnetic and magnetic resonance and nuclear quadrupole resonance. The text discusses nuclear moments and nuclear models, as well as simple conclusions from experimental data and graphical representations of nuclear models and moments. An explanation of symbols used in the manuscript is also presented. The book is a dependable reference for readers interested in the study of nuclear moments.

Book Synopsis Nuclear Spectroscopy by : Fay Ajzenberg-Selove
Download or read book Nuclear Spectroscopy written by Fay Ajzenberg-Selove and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear Spectroscopy, Part A deals with the experimental and theoretical techniques involved in nuclear spectroscopy. This book discusses the interactions of charged particles with matter, gaseous ionization detectors, and particular mass attenuation coefficients. The magnetic gamma-ray spectrometers for photo or internal-conversion electrons, general characteristics of cross-section variation with energy, and measurement of fast neutron spectra are also elaborated. This text likewise covers the elastic scattering of photons by nuclei and measurement of widths of gamma-radiating levels. This publication is recommended for graduate students preparing for experimental research in nuclear spectroscopy, students who have completed graduate-level courses in quantum mechanics and nuclear physics, and specialists who wish to acquire a broader understanding of nuclear spectroscopy.

Book Synopsis Analysis of the Electric Dipole Moment in the R-parity Violating Supersymmetric Standard Model by : Nodoka Yamanaka
Download or read book Analysis of the Electric Dipole Moment in the R-parity Violating Supersymmetric Standard Model written by Nodoka Yamanaka and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-09 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this thesis the author discusses the phenomenology of supersymmetric models by means of experimental data set analysis of the electric dipole moment. There is an evaluation of the elementary processes contributing to the electric dipole moments within R-parity-violating supersymmetry, which call for higher-order perturbative computations. A new method based on linear programming is developed and for the first time the non-trivial parameter space of R-parity violation respecting the constraints from existing experimental data of the electric dipole moment is revealed. As well, the impressive efficiency of the new method in scanning the parameter space of the R-parity-violating sector is effectively demonstrated. This new method makes it possible to extract from the experimental data a more reliable constraint on the R-parity violation.
