Book Synopsis Textbook of Clinical Electrocardiography by : Antonio Bayés de Luna
Download or read book Textbook of Clinical Electrocardiography written by Antonio Bayés de Luna and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last 15 years we have had the opportunity to teach Electrocardiography to many different types of student: doctors preparing to become cardiologists, cardiologists attending weekly 'refresher' sessions at our hospital, general practitioners who wish to become adept at electrocardiography and attend our yearly courses and, finally, the medical students of the Universidad Aut6noma of Barcelona. We cover everything with these students from the basics of electrophysiology to applied electrocardiographic semiology. This quadruple experience has proved stimulating, constantly motivating the search for better and more precise material, and the most appropriate didactic presentation for each type of student, each of whom has different requirements. I have always felt that didactic capability is not related to the intelligence of the professor, or to the amount of knowledge this person possesses, but really depends on the 'quality' of this knowledge, the 'desire' to transmit it and the 'capacity' to adapt to each teaching situation.

This book was released on 2014-09-25 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This highly multidisciplinary volume contains contributions from leading researchers in STEAM-H disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics and Health). The volume explores new frontiers in multidisciplinary research, including: the mathematics of cardiac arrhythmia; brain research on working memory; penalized ordinal regression to classify melanoma skin samples; forecasting of time series data; dynamics of niche models; analysis of chemical moieties as anticancer agents; study of gene locus control regions; qualitative mathematical modelling; convex quadrics and group circle systems; remanufacturing planning and control; complexity reduction of functional differential equations; computation of viscous interfacial motion; and differentiation in human pluripotent stem cells. An extension of a seminar series at Virginia State University, the collection is intended to foster student interest and participation in interdisciplinary research and to stimulate new research. The content will be of interest to a broad spectrum of scientists, mathematicians and research students working in interdisciplinary fields including the biosciences, mathematics, engineering, neurosciences and behavioral sciences.

This book was released on 2005-04-13 with total page 891 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrocardiology has witnessed a century of development since the introduction of Einthoven's Galvanometer. With rapid progress in the scientific, technological and clinical aspects of the field of electrocardiology in recent years, electrocardiology now covers a wide range of topics from molecules as the electrical origin of the heart to diagnostic and therapeutic applications for cardiovascular diseases. This volume presents the latest information and developments in the field, from basic science to clinical electrocardiology. A wide range of topics are covered, including molecular biology, genetics, channelopathy, atrial fibrillation, catheter ablation, modeling of cardiac electrical activity, cardiac mapping, as well as diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiac disease and arrhythmic disorders.Contributors to the volume include leading experts in the field such as PJ Schwartz, C Antzelevitch, Y Rudy, HJGM Vrijin, DG Escande, AAM Wilde, DA Kass, J Jalife and A d'Avila. The book is an essential source of reference for cardiologists and electrocardiologists.

Download or read book Medical Informatics Europe 82 written by R.R. O'Moore and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-08 with total page 961 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The European Federation for Medical Informatics is a regional coordinat ing body. The Congress in Dublin. MIE 82. from 21st to 25th March 1982. is the fourth in the series following MIE 78 in Cambridge. MIE 79 in Berlin. There was a break in 1980 for the World Congress - MEDINFO 8- in Tokyo. This was followed by MIE 81 in Toulouse. The rationale behind these congresses is the scientific need to share results and ideas. and the educational need to train a wide variety of professional staff in the potential of Medical Informatics in health care delivery. All the caring professions are involved. doctors. scientists. nurses. pharma cists. paramedical staff. administrators. health care planners. commu nity physicj-US'I,!Dedical educationalists. epidemiologists. statisti cians. o. pe-~atio'ns 'analysts. together with specialists from the comput ing profession dealin~ with systems analysis. hardware. software. lan guages. data ba, s~s and marketing of systems. The pre-publi~~tion of'conference proceedings from a multi-stream con ference is partic~l~t~y valuable in a rapidly expanding multidisciplin ary field su~h as'M~dical Informatics. It enables participants to fol low work presented at sessions that they are unable to attend. More im portantly. is also provides a permanent record with relevant bibliogra phy for other workers to assess which groups are active and in which areas. All the papers have been refereed and the referees' suggestions incorporated in the final texts. Rapid publication. using camera-ready copy. reduces the time available for editing and indexing.
