Book excerpt: THE WICCAN’S DICTIONARY OF PROPHECY AND OMENS Divination—the art of obtaining knowledge of the future or of secret things—has played an important role in ancient cultures and religions as well as in modern times. It was once a method of sacred communication with the spirit world and a way to determine the will of the gods by means of visions and predictions. In the present age, divination, including astrology, palmistry, and the I Ching, continues to be a popular method of looking into the future or past, as well as revealing that which was once unknown. In fact, a large number of our contemporary customs and superstitions are remnants of the once-powerful divinatory rituals of the ancient pagan religions. The Wiccan's Dictionary of Prophecy and Omens details over two hundred methods of divination, from those used in antiquity to those in use today. It traces the history of these practices and provides examples of nearly every known divinatory art. This is an essential resource for followers of today’s Wiccan lifestyle by modern Wiccan expert Gerina Dunwich.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ancients traveled far and paid handsomely to hear the sibyls and oracles channel wisdom from the gods. The Holy Bible writes of many prophets and seers, but divination by ordinary people was strongly prohibited. As a result, mediums and psychics have since been laughed at, ostracized, and even burned at the stake. But always there have been some people who persisted in believing in spirit communication secretly. We must take a sober and realistic view of divination in the times ahead, but openly and publicly. This book will help you to understand divination for its true value. Listening to the spirit world is our only hope for a world of peace.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, people have been fascinated by the power and secrets of mediums. And today, many are interested in making contact with the spirit world themselves--either to communicate with loved ones, heal the sick, or discover knowledge-- but don't know how. Yet, as Larry Dreller writes, "At birth we all are given the gift of seeing beyond this humble Earth plane into other dimensions, but as we grow older we cast this natural ability aside. Mediums did not lose this ability and are people who act as intermediaries between this world and the 'other side'." Both an introduction to this phenomenon as well as a workbook that guides the reader through exercises to reawaken their abilities, the Beginner's Guide to Mediumship shows how to develop spiritual powers, conduct seances, harness the power of prophecy, comfort and heal others, see auras, and more. Drawing on his own experience, Dreller focuses on pure and practical day-to-day applications of mediumship and how they can enrich readers lives.

Book excerpt: A mystical experience reveals a new paradigm for life, enabling us, as the phoenix, to rise triumphant from scarcity, discord, and sickness into a light-filled world of abundance, right relations, and wholeness. In a very vivid dream during the night of January 1, 1998, John Randolph Price was emphatically denied access to the secret gate leading to Cosmic Consciousness. Both curious and concerned, he pondered what to do next. Then he was suddenly given the specific instruction: See Jesus for the Code. John began the task immediately upon awakening, first with quiet prayer to become attuned to the “mind which was in Christ Jesus,” followed by several days of meditative inner plane work. There was little progress until he took a break from the project and went for a long walk in the woods. And it was there that he heard the central message of the Code—a challenge for all of us to embrace a new Model of Reality, and change our perspective on what it means to be “spiritual” in this world. From this mystical experience came specific steps to higher consciousness—a ladder to climb to a new dimension where the illusions of sickness, scarcity, and discord are shattered and a world of wholeness, abundance, and right relations is revealed. John was also given a glimpse of the future as we enter the millennium, and was shown how lasting peace will finally come to planet Earth.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A broadly interdisciplinary study of the pervasive secrecy in America cultural, political, and religious discourse. The occult has traditionally been understood as the study of secrets of the practice of mysticism or magic. This book broadens our understanding of the occult by treating it as a rhetorical phenomenon tied to language and symbols and more central to American culture than is commonly assumed. Joshua Gunn approaches the occult as an idiom, examining the ways in which acts of textual criticism and interpretation are occultic in nature, as evident in practices as diverse as academic scholarship, Freemasonry, and television production. Gunn probes, for instance, the ways in which jargon employed by various social and professional groups creates barriers and fosters secrecy. From the theory wars of cultural studies to the Satanic Panic that swept the national mass media in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Gunn shows how the paradox of a hidden, buried, or secret meaning that cannot be expressed in language appears time and time again in Western culture. These recurrent patterns, Gunn argues, arise from a generalized, popular anxiety about language and its limitations. Ultimately, Modern Occult Rhetoric demonstrates the indissoluble relationship between language, secrecy, and publicity, and the centrality of suspicion in our daily lives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus was an initiate and adept of the ancient Judaic mysteries who strove to reinstate the tradition of the bridechamber sacrament in his time • Shows that Jesus sought to establish equity of masculine and feminine in both spiritual practice and social traditions, particularly in the sacrament of marriage • Reinterprets Jesus’ key teachings in light of the ancient tradition of sacred consortship • Reveals what happened to the gnostic heart of Christianity that Jesus embodied Jesus was a high-initiate and master adept of the ancient Judaic mysteries who strove to free people from the dead hand of the ritualists. He was trained in a dissident Jewish brotherhood that arose in Egypt before he was born, which sought to bring back the ancient Judaic mysteries outlawed by the Jerusalem temple. At the heart of this movement was a yogic-based practice known in the apocrypha as the Gnosis of the Heart, which espoused the union of both sexes in a secret initiatic teaching. As a fearless social reformer, Jesus wanted to restore the authority of the feminine principle, including asserting the equality of man and woman in the social contract of marriage. He reinstated in his own life the tradition of sacred consortship--a rite known to early Church fathers as the bridechamber sacrament, whereby the marriage of the masculine and feminine energies was effected. This rite, Victoria LePage suggests, was the primary focus of Jesus’ teachings, the very heart of his exhortations to love thy neighbor, and the source of his healing power. Mysteries of the Bridechamber explains how, as a master adept of the Temple of Solomon, Jesus derived these teachings directly from ancient Judaic mystery traditions, revealing both a life story for Jesus that differs markedly from the version the Church has offered as well as a spiritual practice based on a mystical wisdom tradition of self-initiation and transformation.
