The retreat center is open for its first workshop, the local café is done remodeling, and librarian and witch-in-training Josie Way is hosting her sister—and a few suspicions about the new killer on the loose . . . Josie is eager to show off Wilfred’s delights to her visiting sister, Jean—even though Josie must conceal her magic from her. In any case, Jean is excited to attend Cookie Masterson’s trademark “Ready-Set-Go!” workshop on becoming a life coach. Then there’s the grand reopening of Darla’s Café, where the doors are thrown open to reveal . . . a dead man, stabbed in the back. That was definitely not on the revamped menu… Even more worrisome, the sheriff receives a report of a fresh corpse at the retreat center. Maybe murder isn’t so uncommon in Wilfred anymore, but two unfamiliar bodies within an hour certainly is! Josie’s willing to let law enforcement take the lead—after all, she’s gotten into some trouble from the hints the library’s spellbound books keep feeding her about the patrons. But when her sister receives the killer’s chilling calling card, she’ll use everything within her otherworldly powers to divine just who in town has homicide as his new slogan . . .

Book excerpt: Sara has a passion: singing. It is a secret dream, because a past experience has traumatized her and now she is terrified of performing. So Sara hides her "singing" heart in herself. She calls him Cip, a little bird that she imagines to have instead of the heart, that flies, skips and sings with her. Summer is over and Sara is enthusiastic: she is about to start her fourth year at the Liceo Musicale Pertini in Genoa; she will see her companions again and resume lessons. She is not a nerd, but she likes studying, it makes her feel good. Well, maybe she really a nerd. She loves to test herself, learn new things, but she has always shared her gift with her companions, helping them, sometimes letting them take advantage of her good heart. The return to school, however, brings unexpected news. Her best friend Sonia is detached and surly. She seems to be angry with her and never misses a chance to ridicule her in front of her companions. What happened to her? Fabio, the most beautiful boy in the class, defends Sara. Who knows, maybe he needs help with the study? The singing teacher decided to stage a musical: "Beauty and the Beast". Will he convince Sara to participate? This new novel, as you can guess from the title, talks about music and is set in a school, but not in Armonia. A royal school in Genoa: the Liceo Musicale Sandro Pertini. It is a tribute to the boys who accompany me during the presentations and to their professor who has repeatedly expressed the desire that their school appear in one of my novels. It's a training novel, it talks about dreams, fears, friendship and, of course, love. Enjoy the reading : )

Book excerpt: Soldiers wounded in World War II return home in this “moving read full of compassion and resilience” (Tatiana de Rosnay, New York Times–bestselling author). 1946. In Cambria Heights—an outlying working-class enclave of New York City—the people, having lived through years of calamitous losses and fears, are ready to revive the modestly idyllic life of their cherished little neighborhood. But their peace is imperiled . . . GIs are returning, and though their physical wounds may be healed, their emotional wounds fester. As the community grapples with a “communist threat” that forebodes another war, the worst polio epidemic in American history threatens to spread. And when an African American air ace and war hero looks for a place to call home, his very presence unearths the latent racism of his newfound neighbors. During this turbulent time, sixteen-year-old Erin Burke enters into a relationship with a disturbed veteran suffering from shellshock. When his sexual abuse leads to a botched, illegal abortion, Erin marries her memory to her imagination to portray A Season in Queens that will change her life forever.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transparency is one of the most effective tools we have that can help us heal. It can also help us understand ourselves better as well as other people. What would you do if you believed you only had months to live? How would you feel if your community was stolen from you? Could you survive living on the streets for any length of time? Can you imagine what it's like to try to find a job when you have felonies on your record? Are there any words to describe the heart of a mother as she watches her youngest child die? It’s taken my whole life to realize that the main person I’ve been battling against has been me. As such, my memoir delves into raw detail about my war with my myself. I open up about my crystal meth addiction and how I became a drug dealer in Houston, Tx. The pain of growing up in poverty under the hand of an abusive dad is put on display as well. The time I spent serving in the Air Force during Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the promiscuity that went along with it is also divulged. I talk about how I received my HIV + diagnosis on a voicemail and my Hep B + diagnosis in the postal mail. My story gets more intense as I share about how I got 3 felonies, the time I spent in jail, and how I ended up homeless after S.W.A.T. kicked my door in. I talk about the biggest heartbreak in my life which happened when I was kicked out of a megachurch, that I had served with my whole soul for years, just because I am a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and refused to accept the conversion therapy package they offered. So often people judge those who have been in similar situations. My hope is that my honesty can offer a glimpse into these issues from the inside, rather than from the outside looking in. I struggled with dividing my memoir into two separate books, but I felt it would be more impactful to tell everything all at once. My memoir is my testament and it’s the greatest form of outreach I have ever offered to the world. I hope that I can earn your trust and attention with the words I have written within these pages.
