Book excerpt: In a world filled with fleeting moments and transient connections, there are rare occasions when two souls find each other and embark on a journey of love that defies the boundaries of time. Such is the tale of AARUSHI and MUKUL, two hearts that converged on a path paved by destiny and united by an eternal love. As the sun sets on SEPTEMBER 24, 2023 they stand on the cusp of a new chapter, ready to exchange vows and promises that will bind them in the sacred bond of matrimony. This book is a celebration of their extraordinary love story, a testament to the power of love that knows no end. As the author of this collection of poetry, I have had the privilege of witnessing the blooming of their affection, the growth of their connection, and the profound depth of their emotions. In the pages that follow, I invite you to join me in celebrating the journey of AARUSHI and MUKUL, two souls intertwined by fate and bound by an unbreakable love. Love stories often unfold like delicate petals, with moments of tenderness, vulnerability, and breathtaking beauty. Through this collection of poems, I have sought to capture the essence of their love – the stolen glances that speak volumes, the silent understanding that transcends words, and the promises that resonate in the depths of their hearts. Each poem is a reflection of their unique journey, a glimpse into the shared laughter, whispered secrets, and unspoken dreams that have woven their story together. As they stand before their loved ones, promising forever in each other's embrace, let us pause to marvel at the magic of their love – a love that has weathered storms, grown stronger with time, and illuminated even the darkest corners of their lives. This book serves as a humble gift, a collection of thoughts and emotions woven into verses, a momento of their love that they can carry with them into the chapters yet to be written. To AARUSHI and MUKUL, may your journey be filled with joy, may your love continue to flourish, and may the verses in this book remind you of the beautiful tapestry you've woven together. As you step into the future hand in hand, may these poems serve as a reminder that your love is a beacon of light, guiding you through the adventures that await.

Book Synopsis Japanese Mythology in Film by : Yoshiko Okuyama
Download or read book Japanese Mythology in Film written by Yoshiko Okuyama and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2015-04-09 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A cyborg detective hunts for a malfunctioning sex doll that turns itself into a killing machine. A Heian-era Taoist slays evil spirits with magic spells from yin-yang philosophy. A young mortician carefully prepares bodies for their journey to the afterlife. A teenage girl drinks a cup of life-giving sake, not knowing its irreversible transformative power. These are scenes from the visually enticing, spiritually eclectic media of Japanese movies and anime. The narratives of courageous heroes and heroines and the myths and legends of deities and their abodes are not just recurring motifs of the cinematic fantasy world. They are pop culture’s representations of sacred subtexts in Japan. Japanese Mythology in Film takes a semiotic approach to uncovering such religious and folkloric tropes and subtexts embedded in popular Japanese movies and anime. Part I introduces film semiotics with plain definitions of terminology. Through familiar cinematic examples, it emphasizes the myth-making nature of modern-day film and argues that semiotics can be used as a theoretical tool for reading film. Part II presents case studies of eight popular Japanese films as models of semiotic analysis. While discussing each film’s use of common mythological motifs such as death and rebirth, its case study also unveils more covert cultural signifiers and folktale motifs, including jizo (a savior of sentient beings) and kori (bewitching foxes and raccoon dogs), hidden in the Japanese filmic text.

Book Synopsis God of Comics by : Natsu Onoda Power
Download or read book God of Comics written by Natsu Onoda Power and published by Univ. Press of Mississippi. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cartoonist Osamu Tezuka (1928?1989) is the single most important figure in Japanese post-World War II comics. During his four-decade career, Tezuka published more than 150,000 pages of comics, produced animation films, wrote essays and short fiction, and earned a Ph.D. in medicine. Along with creating the character Astro Boy (Mighty Atom in Japan), he is best known for establishing story comics as the mainstream genre in the Japanese comic book industry, creating narratives with cinematic flow and complex characters. This style influenced all subsequent Japanese output. God of Comics chronicles Tezuka's life and works, placing his creations both in the cultural climate and in the history of Japanese comics. The book emphasizes Tezuka's use of intertextuality. His works are filled with quotations from other texts and cultural products, such as film, theater, opera, and literature. Often, these quoted texts and images bring with them a world of meanings, enriching the narrative. Tezuka also used stock characters and recurrent visual jokes as a way of creating a coherent world that encompasses all of his works. God of Comics includes close analysis of Tezuka's lesser-known works, many of which have never been translated into English. It offers one of the first in-depth studies of Tezuka's oeuvre to be published in English.
