Book Synopsis Mujeres, poder y conocimiento by : Flor Emilce Cely Ávila
Download or read book Mujeres, poder y conocimiento written by Flor Emilce Cely Ávila and published by Herder Editorial. This book was released on 2022-09-20 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Terapias de cine by : Tabernero Holgado, Carlos
Download or read book Terapias de cine written by Tabernero Holgado, Carlos and published by Editorial UOC. This book was released on 2016-11-28 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Includes evocative images, this gloriously illustrated ebook reveals the key events in women's history - from early matriarchal societies through women's suffrage, the Suffragette movement, 20th-century feminism and gender politics, to recent movements such as #MeToo and International Women's Day - and the key role women have had in shaping our past. Learn about the everyday lives of women through the ages as well as the big names of women's history - powerful, inspirational, and trailblazing women such as Cleopatra, Florence Nightingale, Emmeline Pankhurst, Eva Peron, and Rosa Parks - and discover the unsung contributions of lesser-known women who have changed the world, and the "forgotten" events of women's history. Placing women firmly centre stage, Women - Our History shows women where they have come from, and, in celebrating the achievements of women of the past offers positive role models for women of today
Book Synopsis Las mujeres y la ópera by : Hélène Seydoux
Download or read book Las mujeres y la ópera written by Hélène Seydoux and published by Editorial Almuzara. This book was released on 2011-11 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Socio-ecological Studies in Natural Protected Areas by : Alfredo Ortega-Rubio
Download or read book Socio-ecological Studies in Natural Protected Areas written by Alfredo Ortega-Rubio and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-11-01 with total page 809 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the interactions of local inhabitants and environmental systems in the Protected Natural Areas of Mexico. Its goal is to help understand how social groups contextualize ecological knowledge, how human activities contribute to modifying the environmental matrix, how cultural and economic aspects influence the use, management and conservation of their ecological environment, and how social phenomena are to be viewed against the backdrop of ecological knowledge. The book reviews the epistemological and historical bases of the socio-ecological relationship, and addresses the evolution of human-natural systems. From a methodological standpoint, it assesses the tools required for the integration of “human” and “natural” dimensions in the management of the environmental matrix. Further, in the case studies section, it reviews valuable recent experiences concerning the retro-interactions of local inhabitants with their environmental matrix. Given its scope, the book offers a valuable asset for researchers and professionals all over the world, especially those working in Latin American countries.
Book Synopsis Transcontinental Dialogues by : R. Aída Hernández Castillo
Download or read book Transcontinental Dialogues written by R. Aída Hernández Castillo and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2019-04-09 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transcontinental Dialogues brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous anthropologists from Mexico, Canada, and Australia who work at the intersections of Indigenous rights, advocacy, and action research. These engaged anthropologists explore how obligations manifest in differently situated alliances, how they respond to such obligations, and the consequences for anthropological practice and action. This volume presents a set of pieces that do not take the usual political or geographic paradigms as their starting point; instead, the particular dialogues from the margins presented in this book arise from a rejection of the geographic hierarchization of knowledge in which the Global South continues to be the space for fieldwork while the Global North is the place for its systematization and theorization. Instead, contributors in Transcontinental Dialogues delve into the interactions between anthropologists and the people they work with in Canada, Australia, and Mexico. This framework allows the contributors to explore the often unintended but sometimes devastating impacts of government policies (such as land rights legislation or justice initiatives for women) on Indigenous people’s lives. Each chapter’s author reflects critically on their own work as activist-scholars. They offer examples of the efforts and challenges that anthropologists—Indigenous and non-Indigenous—confront when producing knowledge in alliances with Indigenous peoples. Mi’kmaq land rights, pan-Maya social movements, and Aboriginal title claims in rural and urban areas are just some of the cases that provide useful ground for reflection on and critique of challenges and opportunities for scholars, policy-makers, activists, allies, and community members. This volume is timely and innovative for using the disparate anthropological traditions of three regions to explore how the interactions between anthropologists and Indigenous peoples in supporting Indigenous activism have the potential to transform the production of knowledge within the historical colonial traditions of anthropology.
