Book excerpt: When Ryan and Brandon's Aunt Carrie comes to live with them, a world of fun opens up. Days are filled with laughing, playing superheroes, and having dance parties. Although Aunt Carrie is the most fun aunt in the world, she is also very sick, and wants to spend the precious time she has surrounded by those who love her. Based on true people and events, this book is about love, loss, and remembering a loved one who dies. This book covers the topic of grief in an honest, sensitive way. It also highlights the various emotions involved in the hospice care experience. The story and characters help children and adults see how to stay authentic while facing sadness, hopeful when facing loss, and joyful when facing longing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Embracing a new religion, or leaving one’s faith, usually constitutes a significant milestone in a person’s life. While a number of scholars have examined the reasons why people convert to Islam, few have investigated why people leave the faith and what the consequences are for doing so. Taking a holistic approach to conversion and deconversion, Moving In and Out of Islam explores the experiences of people who have come into the faith along with those who have chosen to leave it—including some individuals who have both moved into and out of Islam over the course of their lives. Sixteen empirical case studies trace the processes of moving in or out of Islam in Western and Central Europe, the United States, Canada, and the Middle East. Going beyond fixed notions of conversion or apostasy, the contributors focus on the ambiguity, doubts, and nonlinear trajectories of both moving in and out of Islam. They show how people shifting in either direction have to learn or unlearn habits and change their styles of clothing, dietary restrictions, and ways of interacting with their communities. They also look at how communities react to both converts to the religion and converts out of it, including controversies over the death penalty for apostates. The contributors cover the political aspects of conversion as well, including debates on radicalization in the era of the “war on terror” and the role of moderate Islam in conversions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Blueprint for Revival! Many believers today yearn for an encounter with the supernatural. They hunger to experience the glory of God they’ve only read about in the Bible. In this companion study guide to Moving in Glory Realms, Joshua Mills reveals that all Christians are intended to live, move, and operate within what he calls "glory realms." Joshua opens up God's glory by explaining the different realms, spheres, and dimensions of the kingdom. He systematically builds a faith framework in which the reader can begin to move into the glory of God with ease. Joshua breaks down our understanding of God’s glory into three parts: first, moving in the Spirit, which is about understanding the different dynamics of faith, anointing, and God’s glory; second, moving in the supernatural by recalibrating ourselves to heaven’s frequency, working with angels, and accessing the highest power of God’s glory so that the miraculous dimension begins to manifest; and third, moving in the heavenlies, dealing with spiritual travel and prophetic encounters, manifesting divine abundance, and living in heavenly revelation. Throughout, Joshua shares many unusual and extraordinary testimonies of God’s glory working through uncommon signs and wonders, heavenly experiences, angelic appearances, and other manifestations of the miraculous, Through this dynamic companion study guide, Joshua will not only help you understand God’s glory, he’ll also guide you into experiencing and walking in the glory every day. Suitable for groups or individual study.

Book excerpt: Central Asia has been perceived as a landscape of connections, of Silk Roads; an endless plain across which waves of conquerors swiftly rode on horseback. In reality the region is highly fragmented and difficult to traverse, and overcoming these obstacles led to routes becoming associated with epic travel and high-value trade. Put simply, the inhabitants of these lands became experts in the art of travelling the margins. This volume seeks to unravel some of the myths of long-distance roads in Central Asia, using a desert case-study to put forward a new hypothesis for how medieval landscapes were controlled and manipulated.

She was pretty inept—and pretty cute! Which was an odd admission because Adam usually liked his woman blond and leggy. Sunny Taite was many things, but she was not a burglar. Neither was she blond nor leggy. She'd just forgotten her key. But there was no denying that her interfering next-door neighbor was an attractive physical specimen—if you ignored his personality. Tall, dark and definitely handsome, Adam was going to be hard to resist…. Jeanne Allan's books are "comical and fun." —Affaire de Coeur HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO
