Book Synopsis Modeling of Photochemical Reactions in a Focused Laser Beam by : A. K. Gaigalas
Download or read book Modeling of Photochemical Reactions in a Focused Laser Beam written by A. K. Gaigalas and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fluorescent materials play a prominent role in the measurement of scientific phenomena. Photodegradation of fluorophores is a process that determines the accuracy and sensitivity of such measurements. Recently, illumination consisting of short pulses has been used to examine the decay of photochemical reaction products. However, the time resolved measurements are difficult to interpret since the photodegradation process usually involves multiple time scales. The frequency domain measurement technique discussed here looks at the frequency response of a fluorescent sample to a frequency modulate illuminating light. In the measurements described here, a focused laser beam is used to illuminate a sample of slowly flowing fluorescent solution. Illus.

Book Synopsis Focus on Hazardous Materials Research by : Leonora G. Mason
Download or read book Focus on Hazardous Materials Research written by Leonora G. Mason and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2007 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hazardous waste is a waste with properties that make it dangerous or potentially harmful to human health or the environment. Hazardous waste generally exhibits one or more of these characteristics: ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity or toxicity. The universe of hazardous wastes is large and diverse. Hazardous wastes can be liquids, solids, contained gases, or sludges. They can be the by-products of manufacturing processes or simply discarded commercial products, like cleaning fluids or pesticides. One of its type is radioactive waste. This book brings together the latest research in this diverse field.

Book Synopsis Thermochemical Processes by : C. B. Alcock
Download or read book Thermochemical Processes written by C. B. Alcock and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2000-12-18 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today the study of materials is concerned with the underlying thermodynamic and chemical processes involved in the manufacture and processing of a wide range of materials - metals, ceramics, semi-conductors, plastics and composites. For the first time, this book provides a quantitative description and examples of the application of physical chemical concepts to the processing and degradation of metallic and other inorganic materials, from the atomic scale to the analysis of industrial processes. Thermochemical Processes: Principles and Models deals with processes dominated in turn by the gas phase (such as chemical vapour deposition), the solid phase (such as powder metallurgy electroceramics and high-temperature corrosion) and the liquid phase (such as extraction metallurgy and glass-making). C. B. Alcock provides information which will prove invaluable to academics and workers involved in high temperature industries and in particular to those with an interest in the scientific analysis of processes - which will be most useful to those working in the field of modelling.
