Book Synopsis Algebraic Analysis by : Masaki Kashiwara
Download or read book Algebraic Analysis written by Masaki Kashiwara and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algebraic Analysis: Papers Dedicated to Professor Mikio Sato on the Occasion of his 60th Birthday, Volume I is a collection of research papers on algebraic analysis and related topics in honor to Professor Mikio Sato’s 60th birthday. This volume is composed of 35 chapters and begins with papers concerning Sato’s early career in algebraic analysis. The succeeding chapters deal with research works on the existence of local holomorphic solutions, the holonomic q-difference systems, partial differential equations, and the properties of solvable models. Other chapters explore the fundamentals of hypergeometric functions, the Toda lattice in the complex domain, the Lie algebras, b-functions, p-adic integrals, analytic parameters of hyperfunctions, and some applicatioins of microlocal energy methods to analytic hypoeellipticity. This volume also presents studies on the complex powers of p-adic fields, operational calculus, extensions of microfunction sheaves up to the boundary, and the irregularity of holonomic modules. The last chapters feature research works on error analysis of quadrature formulas obtained by variable transformation and the analytic functional on the complex light cone, as well as their Fourier-Borel transformations. This book will prove useful to mathematicians and advance mathematics students.
Book Synopsis Introduction to Prehomogeneous Vector Spaces by : Tatsuo Kimura
Download or read book Introduction to Prehomogeneous Vector Spaces written by Tatsuo Kimura and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2003 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first introductory book on the theory of prehomogeneous vector spaces, introduced in the 1970s by Mikio Sato. The author was an early and important developer of the theory and continues to be active in the field. The subject combines elements of several areas of mathematics, such as algebraic geometry, Lie groups, analysis, number theory, and invariant theory. An important objective is to create applications to number theory. For example, one of the key topics is that of zeta functions attached to prehomogeneous vector spaces; these are generalizations of the Riemann zeta function, a cornerstone of analytic number theory. Prehomogeneous vector spaces are also of use in representation theory, algebraic geometry and invariant theory. This book explains the basic concepts of prehomogeneous vector spaces, the fundamental theorem, the zeta functions associated with prehomogeneous vector spaces and a classification theory of irreducible prehomogeneous vector spaces. It strives, and to a large extent succeeds, in making this content, which is by its nature fairly technical, self-contained and accessible. The first section of the book, "Overview of the theory and contents of this book," Is particularly noteworthy as an excellent introduction to the subject.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1996 the AMS awarded Goro Shimura the Steele Prize for Lifetime Achievement :" To Goro Shimura for his important and extensive work on arithmetical geometry and automorphic forms; concepts introduced by him were often seminal, and fertile ground for new developments, as witnessed by the many notations in number theory that carry his name and that have long been familiar to workers in the field.." 103 of Shimura ́s most important papers are collected in four volumes. Volume I contains his mathematical papers from 1954 to 1966 and some notes to the articles.
Book Synopsis Algebraic and Analytic Microlocal Analysis by : Michael Hitrik
Download or read book Algebraic and Analytic Microlocal Analysis written by Michael Hitrik and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-12-19 with total page 654 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents contributions from two workshops in algebraic and analytic microlocal analysis that took place in 2012 and 2013 at Northwestern University. Featured papers expand on mini-courses and talks ranging from foundational material to advanced research-level papers, and new applications in symplectic geometry, mathematical physics, partial differential equations, and complex analysis are discussed in detail. Topics include Procesi bundles and symplectic reflection algebras, microlocal condition for non-displaceability, polarized complex manifolds, nodal sets of Laplace eigenfunctions, geodesics in the space of Kӓhler metrics, and partial Bergman kernels. This volume is a valuable resource for graduate students and researchers in mathematics interested in understanding microlocal analysis and learning about recent research in the area.
Book Synopsis Towards the Mathematics of Quantum Field Theory by : Frédéric Paugam
Download or read book Towards the Mathematics of Quantum Field Theory written by Frédéric Paugam and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-02-20 with total page 485 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This ambitious and original book sets out to introduce to mathematicians (even including graduate students ) the mathematical methods of theoretical and experimental quantum field theory, with an emphasis on coordinate-free presentations of the mathematical objects in use. This in turn promotes the interaction between mathematicians and physicists by supplying a common and flexible language for the good of both communities, though mathematicians are the primary target. This reference work provides a coherent and complete mathematical toolbox for classical and quantum field theory, based on categorical and homotopical methods, representing an original contribution to the literature. The first part of the book introduces the mathematical methods needed to work with the physicists' spaces of fields, including parameterized and functional differential geometry, functorial analysis, and the homotopical geometric theory of non-linear partial differential equations, with applications to general gauge theories. The second part presents a large family of examples of classical field theories, both from experimental and theoretical physics, while the third part provides an introduction to quantum field theory, presents various renormalization methods, and discusses the quantization of factorization algebras.
