This book was released on 2015-11-03 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an entry-level introduction to Carrier Ethernet, intended for anyone new to Carrier Ethernet, including those with little or no background in computer networking and/or telecommunications. It has two aims: (1) to explain networking technology leading up to and motivating Carrier Ethernet and (2) to explain Carrier Ethernet conceptually within this framework. This book was conceived to be a prequel to Fujitsu's MEF-CECP Study Guide (any edition), but can be used alone (as an introduction to Carrier Ethernet) or in combination with other professional certification training materials. Carrier Ethernet emerges in the overlap between two highly evolved realms of commercial networking technology: (1) enterprise1 computer networking and (2) telecommunications networking. At one time these realms were very distinct, but for some years now they have been evolving toward convergence. Many professionals interested in Carrier Ethernet lack fundamental knowledge in one or both realms, as well as a clear framework for understanding their convergence and Carrier Ethernet's place in the evolution. Training resources for Carrier Ethernet professional certification tend to assume significant background knowledge and focus on mastering the details needed to pass an exam over core fundamentals and motivations. This book is designed to complement such material, focusing instead on explaining the big picture, the core background technologies, the context, the motivations, and the concepts that underpin Carrier Ethernet. The main goal is to impart a strong foundation for understanding Carrier Ethernet in a general sense. A secondary goal is to offer insights into the evolution of networking technology and the issues that surround and motivate Carrier Ethernet. Chapter 1 provides a synopsis of the book and a brief explanation of Carrier Ethernet. Chapter 2 explains Ethernet in local area networking, starting from first principles and simple contexts and gradually building up to include MAC bridging and VLAN bridging. Chapter 3 describes traditional Telecom technology and wide area networking solutions prior to Carrier Ethernet. Chapter 4 provides a high-level overview of Carrier Ethernet. The appendix includes supportive details related to various of topics covered in the book. This 2nd Edition of the book was published mainly to change the book's subtitle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dependence of present farming on artificial input of “chemical fertilizers” has caused numerous ecological tribulations associated with global warming and soil contamination. Moreover, there is an essential requirement for realistic agricultural practices on a comprehensive level. Accordingly, biofertilizers including microbes have been recommended as feasible environmentally sound solutions for agricultural practices which not only are natural, and cost-effective but also preserve soil environs and important biota of agricultural land. In addition, it enhances the nutrient quantity of soils organically. Microbial biofertilizers promote plant growth by escalating proficient absorption of nutrients for the plants and by providing an excellent disease-fighting mechanism.Agriculture, the backbone of human sustenance, has been put under tremendous pressure by the ever-increasing human population. Although various modern agro-techniques boosted agricultural production, the excessive use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides have proven extremely detrimental to agriculture as well as to the environment in which it is carried out. Besides this some faulty agricultural practices like monoculture and defective irrigation, further complicate the scenario by eliminating biodiversity, increasing the efflux of nutrients into the water bodies, the formation of algal blooms, eutrophication, damaging the water quality and lowering fish stocks. Biofertilizers are the organic compounds applied to crops for their sustainable growth and the sustainability of the environment as the microbiota associated with biofertilizers interact with the soil, roots and seeds to enhance soil fertility. Application of biofertilizers results in the increased mineral and water uptake, root development, vegetative growth and nitrogen fixation besides liberating growth-promoting substances and minerals that help the maintenance of soil fertility. They further act as antagonists and play a pivotal role in neutralising soil-borne plant pathogens and thus, help in the bio-control of diseases. Application of biofertilizers instead of synthetic fertilizers could be a promising technique to raise agricultural productivity without degrading environmental quality. The present book focuses on the latest research approaches and updates from the microbiota and their applications in the agriculture industry. We believe this book addresses various challenges and shed lights on the possible future of the sustainable agricultural system.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “We need better approaches to understanding and managing software requirements, and Dean provides them in this book. He draws ideas from three very useful intellectual pools: classical management practices, Agile methods, and lean product development. By combining the strengths of these three approaches, he has produced something that works better than any one in isolation.” –From the Foreword by Don Reinertsen, President of Reinertsen & Associates; author of Managing the Design Factory; and leading expert on rapid product development Effective requirements discovery and analysis is a critical best practice for serious application development. Until now, however, requirements and Agile methods have rarely coexisted peacefully. For many enterprises considering Agile approaches, the absence of effective and scalable Agile requirements processes has been a showstopper for Agile adoption. In Agile Software Requirements, Dean Leffingwell shows exactly how to create effective requirements in Agile environments. Part I presents the “big picture” of Agile requirements in the enterprise, and describes an overall process model for Agile requirements at the project team, program, and portfolio levels Part II describes a simple and lightweight, yet comprehensive model that Agile project teams can use to manage requirements Part III shows how to develop Agile requirements for complex systems that require the cooperation of multiple teams Part IV guides enterprises in developing Agile requirements for ever-larger “systems of systems,” application suites, and product portfolios This book will help you leverage the benefits of Agile without sacrificing the value of effective requirements discovery and analysis. You’ll find proven solutions you can apply right now–whether you’re a software developer or tester, executive, project/program manager, architect, or team leader.

Book excerpt: Comprehensive coverage of IP/MPLS/Ethernet backhaul technologies and solutions for 3GPP mobile network systems such as LTE, HSPA and GPRS Focusing on backhaul from a radio network viewpoint, Mobile Backhaul combines perspectives on mobile networks and transport network technologies, focusing on mobile backhaul specific functionalities, which are essential in building modern cost efficient packet networks for mobile systems, IP, MPLS and Carrier Ethernet. The key functions required for this process, Synchronization, Resiliency, Quality of Service and Security, are also explained. The reader benefits from a view of networking technology from a radio network viewpoint, which is specific to this application, as well from a data centre and more IT-oriented perspective. The book bridges the gap between radio and backhaul viewpoints to provide a holistic understanding. Organized into two parts, the book gives an advanced introduction to the principles of the topic before moving on to more specialized areas. Part 1 gives a network level overview, with the purpose of presenting the mobile network application, its protocols, interfaces and characteristics for the backhaul. This section also presents the key packet networking technologies that are most relevant for the radio network. Part 2 offers selected case studies in Synchronization, Resiliency, QoS and Security and gives example solutions for mobile operator owned and leased mobile backhaul cases building on the network view given in Part 1. Both radio network experts and IP networking experts will benefit from the treatment of essential material at the borderline between the radio and backhaul technologies. Key features: Unique view and coverage of both the radio network and the packet mobile backhaul Includes a view into the economic motivation for a packet based mobile backhaul and discusses scenarios of a migration to the new technology Covers 2G, 3G, HSPA, HSPA+ and LTE in radio technologies as well as MWR, Sonet/SDH, Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and IP in networking technologies
