Book excerpt: Teens waging a war of practical jokes declare peace when they fall for one another in this charming YA romantic comedy from Jessica Pennington. They have a love-hate relationship with summer. Sidney and Asher should have clicked. Two star swimmers forced to spend their summers on a lake together sounds like the perfect match. But it’s the same every year—in between cookouts and boat rides and family-imposed bonfires, Sidney and Asher spend the dog days of summer finding the ultimate ways to prank each other. And now, after their senior year, they’re determined to make it the most epic yet. But their plans are thrown in sudden jeopardy when their feud causes their families to be kicked out of their beloved lake houses. Once in their new accommodations, Sidney expects the prank war to continue as usual. But then she gets a note—Meet me at midnight. And Asher has a proposition for her: join forces for one last summer of epic pranks, against a shared enemy—the woman who kicked them out. Their truce should make things simpler, but six years of tormenting one another isn’t so easy to ignore. Kind of like the undeniable attraction growing between them. Book Synopsis Meet Me in the Morning by : Patty Howard
Download or read book Meet Me in the Morning written by Patty Howard and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-12-08 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So much of our lives is influenced by how we see God. For author Patty Howard, these words began a two-and-a-half-year journey of listening to God every morning with the expectation that He would speak. When God speaks, He meets us where we are and shows us who we are. Sometimes we are invited to share what we hear. With social media as her pulpit and her friends as her congregation, Howard shared what God had given her every day. The Holy Spirit did the rest. In Meet Me in the Morning, she has gathered those meditations, originally posted on social media, and compiled them into a devotional, mostly in the order and in the form they originally appeared. May these daily meditations encourage you, inspire you, convict you, and convince you that God sees you, knows you, and loves you beyond measure. This daily devotional shows how scripture applies to real life, in real time, and invites you to carry the ideas and insights beyond the page and into your daily life.

Book excerpt: Meet Me at the Rainbow Bridge begins with a tragic accident in which a careless driver backs up 25 yards without looking, pinning Dr. Newman and his beloved Labrador, Gracie, between his family station wagon and the driver's bumper. Dr. Newman's life story is narrated in retrospect, emphasizing the importance of the dogs that have shared his life. It is furthermore an appeal to the hearts and minds of pet owners that the legal status of pets must be elevated above the level of mere property, the status they are now granted in our legal system. Ninety percent of pet owners now consider their pets to be family members. The owner of a pet that is killed through an accidental act of negligence or a deliberate act of malice can only receive the cash value for their pet. Dr. Newman presents his view that the laws of the land are out of touch with the public's sentiment.

Book Synopsis Meet Me at Fountain Park by : Mindy Killgrove
Download or read book Meet Me at Fountain Park written by Mindy Killgrove and published by Mindy Killgrove. This book was released on 2024-02-08 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Falling in love is a bit like running a race--it's not easy for anyone. Meet Me at Fountain Park Everything changes, or at least that’s what they say. For Missy Lawrence, this old adage just doesn’t fit. Her life has come to an unsolicited standstill. Her job as a news reporter for WSTA-Charlotte is miraculously mundane and her love life is practically non-existent. Even though she tries, she can’t seem to pull herself out of this rut. While she’s stuck in between, all of her friends are finding themselves in a flurry of activities: Brooklyn’s moving in with Duke, Benson and Jack are heading across the country in search of stardom, and Adair is preparing to walk down the aisle and wed the man of her dreams. As her social engagements pile up, she notices that her calendar has reached maximum capacity because of her friends and their obligations. Missy now realizes that she is going to have to make a huge decision: Will she stay in the past or will she join her capricious pals and take a leap of her own? Reader Reviews: Mindy Killgrove builds the story of a modern young woman and her group of friends in this second novel in the Missy Lawrence Trilogy: Meet Me at Fountain Park. With a delicious blend of humor, sex appeal, and naivety, Killgrove takes the reader inside the eyes of the protagonist and allows them to ponder some of life’s biggest questions. This novel is the perfect beach blanket read and can be devoured on one sunny afternoon. Again, Missy Lawrence and her band of fabulous friends drew me in and entertained me throughout this entire second installment of Killgrove's Missy Lawrence Trilogy. I felt her characters were so accessible, and the ups and downs they found themselves in throughout the work so relatable, that I'm really looking forward to her third installment (although I will be sad when there isn't any new material). This was such a great sophomoric release that I highly recommend it to all would-be Missy Lawrence fans!

Book Synopsis Why I Assasinated Gandhi by : Nathuram Godse
Download or read book Why I Assasinated Gandhi written by Nathuram Godse and published by Om SaiTech Books. This book was released on with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My life also came to an end simultaneously with the shots fired by me at Gandhiji. Since then I have been passing my days as if in trance and meditation. I am prepared to concede that Gandhiji did undergo sufferings for the sake of the nation. I shall bow in respect to the service and to him. But even this servant of the country had no right to vivisect the country by deceiving the people. I do not desire any mercy to be shown to me. I do not also wish that any one on my behalf should beg mercy towards me. If devotion to one's own country amounts to a sin, I admit I have committed that sin. If it is meritorious, I humbly claim the merit thereof. My confidence about the moral side of my action has not been shaken even by the criticism levelled against it on all sides. I have no doubt mat honest writers of history will weigh my act and find the true value thereof some day in future.
