Um dieser Frage nachzugehen werden sowohl theoretische Grundlagen beleuchtet, als auch eine empirische Forschung durchgeführt, die die Einstellungen von GrundschullehrerInnen zum Einsatz digitaler Medien im Unterricht untersucht. Laut der Kultusministerkonferenz benötigen Lehrpersonen für die Vermittlung von Medienbildung sowohl die eigene Medienkompetenz, als auch medienpädagogische Kompetenzen. Daher beginnen die theoretischen Grundlagen mit einer Verortung dieser Begriffe. Anschließend folgt ein Kapitel zu den Theorien vom Unterricht. Hier wird näher auf die zehn Merkmale guten Unterrichts nach Meyer eingegangen. Um angemessen auf die Digitalisierung zu reagieren, gibt es seit 2016 die feste Verankerung von Medienbildung im Bildungsplan. Aus diesem Grund wird ebenfalls näher auf den Bildungsplan des Bundeslandes Baden-Württemberg eingegangen, um herauszustellen, inwiefern Medienbildung in der Schule implementiert und umgesetzt werden soll. Im anschließenden Kapitel wird auf digitale Medien in der Schule eingegangen. Um den Medienbildungsplan im Unterricht umzusetzen, kann es für LehrerInnen hilfreich sein, sich an Konzepten des Medieneinsatzes oder auch an lernlehrtheoretischen Grundpositionen zu orientieren. Des Weiteren werden in diesem Kapitel die Funktionen und Einsatzmöglichkeiten, sowie zwei Arten von digitalen Medien (iPads / Tablets und Interaktive Whiteboards) näher betrachtet. Das nachfolgende Kapitel widmet sich der Medienbildung während der Lehrerbildung. Die theoretischen Grundlagen schließen mit dem Untersuchungsstand ab. Das dritte Kapitel umschließt den praktischen Teil im Rahmen der Masterthesis. Hierbei wird untersucht, welche Erfahrungen die Lehrpersonen schon mit digitalen Medien aufweisen, wie sie mit digitalen Medien im Unterricht umgehen und welche Einstellung sie zum Einsatz digitaler Medien im Unterricht haben. Dazu werden die Erhebungsmethodik und die Ergebnisse vorgestellt. In Kapitel 4 folgt die Diskussion der Untersuchungsergebnisse; hierbei wird auf die theoretischen Grundlagen und auf den Untersuchungsstand zurückgegriffen. Abschließend wird ein Fazit gezogen und ein Ausblick über die weitere Entwicklung der Medienbildung in der Schule und über die Einstellungen von Lehrpersonen zum Einsatz digitaler Medien im Unterricht gegeben.

So hat die Medienpädagogik derzeit in Lehramtsstudiengängen einen nur geringen Stellenwert, mit durchschnittlich weit weniger als zwei Semesterwochenstunden (vgl. Blömeke, Sigrid 2000: 14 ff.). Dieter Baacke beschreibt die medienpädagogische Situation an deutschen Hochschulen wie folgt: " Lehrer werden auf diese Weise nicht befähigt, mit Kindern und Jugendlichen im Unterricht angemessen umzugehen, die als 'Medienkinder‛ und 'Medienjugendliche‛ aufwachsen" (Baacke, Dieter 1995: 3). Die daraus resultierenden Forderungen an die Lehrerausbildung sind beispielsweise ein umfangreicheres Angebot an medienpädagogischen Veranstaltungen oder sogar ein informationstechnischer Pflichtbereich. So lässt sich zusammenfassen, dass die Medienkompetenz und die Medienpädagogik systematisch in die Ausbildung von Lehrern integriert werden müssen. In der nun folgenden Arbeit soll die Rolle und die Bedeutung der Medienkompetenz im Bezug auf das gesamte Kompetenzprofil eines Lehrers näher beleuchtet und die damit entstehenden Auswirkungen auf die Lehramtsausbildung näher betracht
