Learn whether fairies evolve and what a modern city in the fairy world might be like. Be open to the possibility of tech fairies existing alongside fairies in nature and learn how they interact with human technology. Much like the human world, the fairy world is stunningly diverse and constantly changing. 21st Century Fairy is a guide to seekers who want a modern context for these ancient beings.

Book excerpt: Visiting friends in Australia, Deannie takes a morning walk in the nearby forest. The day is beautiful, and she is excited to go exploring in this inspiring country. She does not know that her life will take a radical turn. Stumbling into the entrance of another dimension, her journey begins. Her guide, a tiny fairy named Sunshine, surprises her and welcomes her to the land of the fairy dimension. Hearing a familiar melody, Sunshine leads her to the Angel Cave, which shows her through music a memory she had long forgotten and how music is remembered and stored. After finishing a delicious snack at the Tree Lounge with curious, odd characters, she is led to the Written Word, a room full of mysterious blue reading domes of all sizes. Inside one that fits her best, Deannie is astounded by a unique experience of her favorite novel. Having other duties, Sunshine turns her over to another companion. Eve, a Christmas fairy, leads her down the wrong path where they encounter the forbidden Dark Fairy. Pulling Deannie from the Dark Fairy's trap of sorrow, Eve flees with her to a safe area, the Herb Room. After discovering some of its secrets, Eve reveals the Dark Fairy's sad tale and begs Deannie not to tell Sunshine what happened. Unfortunately for Eve, Sunshine already knows. Sunshine takes Deannie down a cool rock tunnel to the Crystal Grid, an underground miniature universe containing amazements and legends about each planet. Leaving through one of the distinctive twelve exits, the Twig Fairies join her to show her the wonders of the forest. Deannie feels honored to learn she is invited to the Council of the Elementals held only every seven years. The Twig Fairies then introduce her to the Madame of This Forest, not That Forest or the Other Forest, "This" Forest-Deannie is instructed quite emphatically. Rolle Polely Playmate has even more marvels for her in the Viewing Chamber where Hope fairies fly amuck. Wherever she visits, Deannie learns about nature, fairies, devas, sprites, the elementals, and how they interreact with our dimension, Earth. The necessity, reflection, and magic of their world are imperative to ours. Even when Deannie returns home, she cannot shake the effects of the fairy dimension. She receives a gift belonging to the Dark Fairy from an unexpected source that compels her to continue to seek out the fairies and their fair demesne. Because now what will she do with this treasure? Book Synopsis Running with the Fairies by : Dennis Gaffin
Download or read book Running with the Fairies written by Dennis Gaffin and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04-25 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Running with the Fairies: Towards a Transpersonal Anthropology of Religion is a unique account of the living spirituality and mysticism of fairyfolk in Ireland. Fairyfolk are fairyminded people who have had direct experiences with the divine energy and appearance of fairies, and fairypeople, who additionally know that they have been reincarnated from the Fairy Realm. While fairies have been folklore, superstition, or fantasy for most children and adults, now for the first time in a scholarly work, highly educated persons speak frankly about their religious/spiritual experiences, journeys, and transformations in connection with these angel-like spirit beings. Set in academic and popular historical perspectives, this first scholarly account of the Fairy Faith for over a hundred years, since believer Evans-Wentz’s 1911 published doctoral dissertation The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries, integrates a participatory, “going native” anthropology with transpersonal psychology. Providing extensive verbatim interviews and discussions, this path-breaking work recognizes the reality of nature spirit beings in a Western context. Through intensive on-site fieldwork, the PhD cultural anthropologist author discovers, describes and interviews authentic mystics aligned with these intermediary deific beings. With an extensive introduction placing fairies in the context of the anthropology of religion, animism, mysticism, and consciousness, this daring ethnography considers notions of “belief”, “perception”, and spiritual “experience”, and with intricate detail extends the focus of anthropological research on spirit beings which previously have been considered as locally real only in indigenous and Eastern cultures.

Book Synopsis Irish Gothic Fairy Stories by : Steve Lally
Download or read book Irish Gothic Fairy Stories written by Steve Lally and published by The History Press. This book was released on 2018-12-21 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the four provinces of Ireland there are thirty-two counties. Each county and its people have their own traditions, beliefs and folklore – and each one is also inhabited by the Sidhe: an ancient and magical race. Some believe they are descended from fallen angels, whilst others say they are the progeny of Celtic deities. They go by many names: the good folk, the wee folk, the gentle people and the fey, but are most commonly known as 'the fairies'. These are not the whimsical fairies of Victorian and Edwardian picture books. They are feared and revered in equal measure, and even in the twenty-first century are spoken of in hushed tones. The fairies are always listening. Storyteller Steve Lally and his wife singer-songwriter Paula Flynn Lally have compiled this magnificent collection of magical fairy stories from every county in Ireland. Filled with unique illustrations that bring these tales to life, Irish Gothic Fairy Stories will both enthral and terrify readers for generations to come.
