Book Synopsis MCQ Selftest Companion to Lee's Synopsis of Anaesthesia by : G. B. Rushman
Download or read book MCQ Selftest Companion to Lee's Synopsis of Anaesthesia written by G. B. Rushman and published by Butterworth-Heinemann Medical. This book was released on 1995 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This companion volume to Lee's Synopsis of Anaesthesia has been developed to enable the reader to check how much of the factual information from the Synopsis has been retained. This does not, of course, cover the whole area of anaesthesia contained in the Synopsis, which includes much about the art of the subject, and the wisdom of many years of experience, both of which are difficult to test. Nevertheless, the area of anaesthesia rests firmly on a database of scientific knowledge. Such background knowledge is most easily tested by the MCQ format, presented here. The questions have been carefully formatted in a friendly way, to help develop the reader's knowledge of the subject, and are therefore slightly different from 'exam' questions. They are designed to augment what you have gleaned from the Synopsis, rather than to test in a destructive or competitive sense. This little book is unashamedly dedicated to improving the quality of anaesthesia. It is also dedicated to helping students of anaesthesia pass exams, which has been the long-term aim of the Synopsis itself! On each question, there is the briefest reference to the page of the Synopsis to which the question refers. After each question, a brief explanation of the reason for a statement being false is frequently included. The answers on the right-hand side of the page may be covered up by a card or ruler, while the statement is assessed, and then checked against the reader's views.

This book was released on 2004-03-18 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Another title in GMM's highly successful QBase series, this time focusing on the Primary FRCA (Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists) with sets of examination papers the candidate can use to revise and practice their MCQ technique. As always, the self-learning experience is greatly enhanced by the free CD-ROM containing the QBase examination software. This powerful program allows the user to sit the pre-set exams as printed in the book, or to create their own exams using questions drawn from the total pool available on the CD-ROM. The program can either generate these exams randomly (maintaining the same proportions of each subject as the 'pre-set' exams), or the user can select any number of questions in any subject area, to create their very own exam. However the user chooses to set an exam, they can then mark, analyse and store each attempt, and review and re-sit the same exam at a later date, comparing their scores with previous attempts. When re-sitting an exam, the user can also choose to 'shuffle' the question stems A-E, so that they cannot simply remember patterns of true and false answers. A final unique aspect of the program is that it allows the user to select how confident they are of their answer, and the program can then provide feedback on a user's 'guessing strategy'.
