Book excerpt: "If you, a regular Joe like me, are not a movie star or an overpaid professional baseball player or a lottery winner or a high-powered executive, what are your chances of becoming a millionaire? Better than you think--much better. And you don't have to strike oil to do it. The secret? It's not glamorous, but it is simple, and almost foolproof, because the math is in your favor. It's my story, and the story of others who are quietly amassing 401(k) fortunes--and the simple plan to make your story my story. " A surefire plan for financial independence--through bull and bear markets. Knute Iwaszko--by turns a chemist, a salesman, and an innkeeper--made a million dollars without robbing a bank, without an inheritance, and without a Silicon Valley startup. He made it in a reliable but thoroughly new-fashioned way: by maximizing the potential of his 401(k) plan--and now he's going to tell millions of people how they, too, can become millionaires. This book will thoroughly explain the ins and outs of how 401(k) plans work, including tax benefits, contribution requirements and limits, withdrawal limitations, and risk management--and then fully describes "Knute's Unbeatable, Unbreak-able Rules for Making It to a Million": a foolproof formula that gives readers a step-by-step regimen for maximizing the potential of their 401(k) plans. With simple, accessible language and clear, detailed steps for financial success, The 401(k) Millionaire is required reading for anyone who wants to make the most of his or her money. "If you follow my five simple rules for 401(k) investing, there's no doubt in my mind that you can end up a 401(k) millionaire, too. Allow me to demonstrate how it's done . . ." 401(k) millionaire Knute Iwaszko's practical, surefire plan for financial success includes such topics as: How I Became a 401(k) Millionaire The 401(k): Your Personal Money Machine The Perils of Procrastination Maxing Out: More Money for You--and Less for Uncle Sam Learning the Ropes: Your Inner Savvy Investor Be Aggressive: Your Retirement Depends on It Knute's Recipe for Success

Book excerpt: This book contains the interesting and entertaining events over one pilot's career along with some insights into the perks and pit falls of an aviation career. The author has chosen the form of an autobiography to offer a framework on which to present operating philosophies and advice of interest to young and future pilots considering aviation as their own careers. Written in layman's language it will be interesting to pilot and enthusiast alike. Most of a pilot's flights are quite monotonous with some notable exceptions. Of course, boredom is a good thing for a pilot, it means nothing is going wrong. Some very unusual experiences are contained here everything from first sight of an aircraft, to a in-flight UFO encounter, to a simulator session in the Space Shuttle and on to a stolen jet. There are a number of photographs that help illustrate some of the events described here. Unfortunately there were no cameras present for the UFO encounter.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Complete 401(k) Guide" is a definitive guide to understanding and maximizing the benefits of 401(k) plans. Written in an approachable and accessible style, this book is designed to help employees and employers navigate the often-complex world of retirement savings. The book begins by providing an overview of 401(k) plans, including their history, purpose, and key features. It then delves into the benefits of participating in a 401(k) plan, including the potential for tax savings, employer matching contributions, and long-term growth. Next, the book provides a step-by-step guide for employees on how to enroll in a 401(k) plan, including how to set up automatic payroll deductions, how to choose investment options, and how to monitor and adjust contributions. It also covers important topics such as vesting, rollovers, and loans. The book also addresses the needs of employers, providing guidance on how to establish and administer a 401(k) plan, including how to choose a plan provider, how to set up employee education and communication programs, and how to ensure compliance with regulations. In addition, the book offers expert advice on how to optimize 401(k) plan contributions, including strategies for maximizing employer matching contributions, how to take advantage of catch-up contributions for those 50 and over, and how to minimize taxes on withdrawals. Finally, the book concludes with a discussion on the importance of retirement planning and how a 401(k) plan can fit into a broader retirement strategy. It also provides resources for further information and guidance. Whether you're an employee looking to boost your retirement savings or an employer looking to provide a valuable benefit to your employees, this book is an essential guide to understanding and maximizing the benefits of 401(k) plans. Key topics -Contributions to a 401(k) plan are made on a pre-tax basis, which means that the money grows tax-free until it's withdrawn. This can help your savings grow faster over time. -Many employers offer matching contributions to their 401(k) plans, which means they'll contribute a certain amount of money to your account based on how much you contribute. This can be a great way to boost your savings. -Automatic payroll deductions: 401(k) plans are typically set up as automatic payroll deductions, which means that the money is taken out of your paycheck before you even see it. This makes it easy to save for retirement without having to think about it. -401(k) plans offer a variety of investment options, such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. This allows you to choose how your money is invested and tailor your investment strategy to your goals and risk tolerance. -401(k) plans are portable, which means that you can take your plan with you if you change jobs or retire. This can be a great advantage if you have a long-term career with a single employer. -401(k) plans offer a range of withdrawal options, so you can choose how and when you want to use your savings. You can withdraw money penalty-free after age 59 1/2, or you can take a loan from your account if you need to. -401(k) plans have high contribution limits, which means you can save a lot of money each year. In 2022, the contribution limit is $19,500, and those 50 and over can contribute an additional $6,500. -If you're 50 or older, you can make catch-up contributions to your 401(k) plan, which means you can contribute more money than the regular contribution limit. -Some 401(k) plans offer a Roth option, which means you can contribute after-tax dollars to your account. -Many employers offer education and guidance to help employees make informed decisions about their 401(k) plans. This can include investment advice, retirement planning tools, and more.
