Gonse quently, a number of improvements and additions have been made, and among them it seemed necessary to add some new illustrations, especially to the chapters on blood and urine. The illustrations of the leucocytes are from preparations of Professor Ehrlich, and those of the urinary sediment are, in part, taken from the physico chemical atlas of Funke. The tables in the last chapter are intended to make the questions of diet and assimila tion of practical use in the sick-room.
