Vladamir of Kessen, Duke of Lakeshire Castle, is feared as a demon in the land of Wessex. The kings have granted him a title of nobility in exchange for his part as a political prisoner. Discontent, he bides his time in his new home until war will once again rip through the land. But boredom soon turns to pleasure as the daughter of his most hated enemy is left for dead at his castle gate. Now the monster bides his time plotting revenge. Lady Eden of Hawks' Nest doesn't know what to think of the man who saved her life, but she can't wrench her thoughts away. His words are those of a tyrant, true to his vicious reputation, but his touch is that of a man, stirring passion when there should only be fear. It would seem the infamous monster is not as monstrous as he appears. Award Winning and a Recommended Read, Historical Medieval Romance from NY Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Michelle M. As the healer’s daughter, Malka has seen how the wood’s curse has plagued her village, but the Ozmini Church only comes to collect its tithe, not to listen to heretics with false stories of monsters in the trees. So when a clergy girl wanders too close to the forest and Malka’s mother is accused of her murder, Malka strikes an impossible bargain with a zealot Ozmini priest: bring the monster out and spare her mother from execution. When she ventures into the shadowed woods, Malka finds a monster, but not the one she expects: an inscrutable, disgraced golem who agrees to implicate herself, but only if Malka helps her fulfill an ancient promise first and free the imprisoned rabbi who created her. But a deal easily made is not easily kept. And as their bargain begins to unravel a much more sinister threat, protecting her people may force Malka to endanger the one person she left home to save – and face her growing feelings for the very creature she was taught to fear.

Snyder. A virus tears across the globe, transforming its victims in nightmarish ways. As the world collapses, dark forces pull a small group of women together. Erin, once quiet and closeted, acquires an appetite for a woman and her brain. Why does forbidden fruit taste so good? Savannah, a professional BDSM switch, discovers a new turn-on: committing brutal murders for her eldritch masters. Mareva, plagued with chronic tumors, is too horrified to acknowledge her divine role in the coming apocalypse, and as her growths multiply, so too does her desperation. 'Beautifully written account' Dave Simpson, The Guardian 'Writes beautifully' The Sun Welcome to the world of Adrian Smith, playing his Jackson guitar onstage to millions - while behind the scenes he explores far-flung rivers, seas and lakes, waterways and weirs, in a fearless quest for fishing nirvana. Hooked on the angling adrenaline rush since first catching perch from East London canals on outings with his father, Adrian grew up to be in one of Rock's most iconic bands. On tour, his gear went with him. The fish got bigger. The adventures more extreme. In Monsters of River and Rock you'll hear about his first sturgeon: a whopping 100-pounder from the roaring rapids of Canada's Fraser River that nearly wiped him out mid-Maiden tour. Then there's the close shave with a shark off the Virgin Islands whilst wading waist-deep for bonefish. Not to mention an enviable list of specimen coarse fish from the UK.

Book excerpt: Just eighteen years old when the last lock clicked, Andrew Winchester doesn't remember how long it's been since he's seen the light of day, only that he might never get back out. The only link left between the imprisoned man and the outside world is his little sister Mazie, who thinks that she can free him from his prison, but after so long, will the outside world still be the same? Will he? In this experimental short story, the life and experience of a young man locked in solitary is told through a first-person viewpoint as he struggles with his disconnect from the outside world. When the light no longer reaches him, and all he has left is the knowledge of why he's been imprisoned and that he must never be free again, it begins to become a bit hard to tell just what is and isn't real anymore. The long-gone biting words of another can have a profound effect on someone whose only remaining world is comprised of those words, but maybe the words of another can have an even stronger effect, spoken just a little bit differently. The only remaining question is where to draw the line between fact and nervous fiction.

Lady Della the Cold-Hearted Lady Della despises all things Viking. They may rule the land, but they will never rule her. Unfortunately, her father doesn’t seem to agree. To prove his continued allegiance to the Viking king, the Ealdorman of Strathfeld betroths his only daughter to a respected Viking Lord—a warrior whose legendary prowess isn’t reserved for the battlefield. Fighting the newfound craving in her body and the unwelcome fire in her heart, Della must choose between everything she knows to be true and the one thing she never expected… Lord Brant of Blackwell, the Fiery One Lord Blackwell is as fiery on the battlefield as he is in his passions. He has fought valiantly as a knight for King Guthrum and has earned the respect of the nobles. When his overlord offers the hand of his beautiful daughter and the right to inherit his lands, Blackwell can hardly refuse. However, he soon discovers that his noble bride is anything but the meek and mild woman he envisioned for his wife. One minute she’s kissing him back, the next she’s swearing to do whatever it takes to dissuade him from their marriage. Can his lust for life and his new bride melt the ice that surrounds her heart? Or will Lady Della the Cold be this warrior’s undoing? She found herself unimpressed with him, having expected more of the legendary man—Brant. Lord Blackwell. Brant the Gladiator. Brant the Vigorous. Brant the Flame. Brant the Viking Hero. Della snorted in unladylike disgust. More like, Brant the Thorn in my Arse! -Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice Historical Medieval Viking Romance from NY Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Michelle M. Pillow. 5 Stars! "Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice is a captivating historical romance novel with many twists and turns that delivers a story that will sweep you away. I enjoyed this novel so much that I will definitely be reading more novels by Michelle M. Pillow." Lori for Jeep Diva Reviews (2013) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Note From the Author Dear Readers, What would you do if you were told you had to marry a man who represented everything you fear? Della may come off as cold and indifferent, but she does it to protect herself. Childhood traumas and a lifetime spent trying to live up to expectations has made her the lady she has become. When her father orders her to marry an enemy in order to please a king, she has no choice by to obey. But it doesn't mean she has to like it...or her new husband. Brant has worked hard to gain the notice of the king and looks forward to being off the battlefields. Too bad that when he agreed to marriage no one told him of the battles yet to come. Like all my medieval historicals, I wrote these characters true to their time periods and full of emotions. If you enjoyed Maiden and the Monster, you'll enjoy Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice. Happy Reading! Michelle Praise For Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice 5 Stars! "Lovers of historical romances will thoroughly enjoy Michelle M. Pillow's Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice. Romance Junkies (2005) 4 HEARTS! "Michelle M. Pillow knows how to write a truly exciting, flourishing and romantic historical." Valerie, Love Romances (2005) Note from the Author Dear Readers, How many of you know when I started my career I completely intended to be a historical romance author? I honestly thought that was all I would ever write. I even went to college to study history. I loved the creating worlds within the set rules of past societies. My goal with historicals was to keep the characters realistic to the time they lived, within the world they lived. I'll be honest, for this reason, Emerald Knight isn't your typical modern romance. I didn't want it to be. These people did not live in our world. I also wanted the challenge of dealing with a couple who had no choice in their futures. They were betrothed at birth before they even knew what marriage was. This book spans the course of decades and deals with marital issues arising from an arranged political marriage between two (practically) strangers that have to come to love each other, and may be sensitive to some readers. I know many of you love a variety of books, and I hope you give it a try. The writing style is close to the award winning Maiden and the Monster as they were originally written in the same time period. The book first published in 2005. There is also an audio version of this book for the audio fans. Plus, check out the brand new cover! If you get a chance to read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jerrold E. Levy's masterly analysis of Navajo creation and origin myths shows what other interpretations often overlook: that the Navajo religion is as complete and nuanced an attempt to answer humanity's big questions as the religions brought to North America by Europeans. Looking first at the historical context of the Navajo narratives, Levy points out that Navajo society has never during its known history been either homogeneous or unchanging, and he goes on to identify in the myths persisting traditions that represent differing points of view within the society. The major transformations of the Navajo people, from a northern hunting and gathering society to a farming, then herding, then wage-earning society in the American Southwest, were accompanied by changes not only in social organization but also in religion. Levy sees evidence of internal historical conflicts in the varying versions of the creation myth and their reflection in the origin myths associated with healing rituals. Levy also compares Navajo answers to the perennial questions about the creation of the cosmos and why people are the way they are with the answers provided by Judaism and Christianity. And, without suggesting that they are equivalent, Levy discusses certain parallels between Navajo religious ideas and contemporary scientific cosmology. The possibility that in the future Navajo religion will be as much altered by changing conditions as it has been in the past makes this fascinating account all the more timely. Book excerpt: Gregory Mobley plunges beneath the Bible's surface to reveal its "backstories" -- the tales that constitute the backbone of the people Israel and of the body of Christ. Viewing the Bible as "essentially, relentlessly story," Mobley provides an easy-to-understand sevenpart thematic overview of the Bible that guides readers through the drama of the Hebrew Bible, highlighting the interconnectedness of biblical stories. Each story is a variation on a single theme -- the dynamic interplay between order and chaos. Intriguing Ancient Near Eastern myths, personal anecdotes, and popular cultural references from movies, musical theater, and writers ranging from Dr. Seuss to William Blake pepper the book throughout. Arresting chapter and section titles such as "It's Love That Makes the World Go 'Round" and "Lord Bezek's Big Toes" capture the imagination, and Mobley's own lyrical, energetic writing style -- exercised on vibrant biblical material -- propels the reader forward. Readers will find his enthusiasm contagious!
