The traditional borders between countries have dissolved, leaving only a handful of large, competitive regions. Solar energy dominates, capitalizing on the increased radiation that penetrates the atmosphere due to global warming. Flying cars fill the skies and houses are carved from solid gemstones. It is into this strange and distant future that Adnex Courageux is born. Born to Genus and Dora Courageux, Adnex appears at first to be a normal, happy child, but great beings beyond the realm of human understanding soon take an interest in the peculiarly intelligent boy. As an adult, his mastery of technology changes the path of human history, but his true potential still lies untapped. Will he be the savior of humanity or does he represent the next step in our evolution, destined to leave us behind to fade from history?
Book Synopsis Star Wars Multiverse by : Carmelo Esterrich
Download or read book Star Wars Multiverse written by Carmelo Esterrich and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2021-08-13 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Star Wars may have started out as a film about a Manichean battle between good and evil, but as countless filmmakers, novelists, animators, fan artists and even cosplayers have taken the opportunity to play in the fictional world George Lucas created, it has expanded into something far greater, resulting in a richly layered and diverse Star Wars multiverse. Drawing from a full range of Star Wars media, including comics, children’s books, fan films, and television shows like Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, Carmelo Esterrich explores how these stories set in a galaxy far far away reflect issues that hit closer to home. He examines what they have to say about political oppression, authoritarianism, colonialism, discrimination, xenophobia, and perpetual war. Yet he also investigates subtler ways in which the personal is political within the multiverse, including its articulations of gender and sexuality, its cultural hierarchies of language use, and its complex relationships between humans, droids and myriad species. This book demonstrates that the Star Wars multiverse is not just a stage for thrilling interstellar battles, but also an exciting space for interpretation and discovery.

Then her father is assassinated, her mother gives birth to a son, and Rory is betrothed to Prince Ivar of the Tadeshi Free Worlds as a peace offering. But when Rory arrives on the space station Urse, she uncovers a treacherous plot to unseat Ivar and usurp his throne... Vernor Moss, Minister of Energy in the Tadeshi Free Worlds, wants to be king. Having conspired to name himself Regent to the minor (and somewhat idiotic) prince, he anticipates that he will someday rule in all but name. But the Regent wasn't counting on Rory Thorne, a princess with thirteen fairy blessings, the most important of which is take no bullshit. With only her bodyguard and her arithmancer-Vizier, Rory must outmaneuver the Regent and rescue the Prince. But in order to succeed, she may just have to start a war."--Provided by publisher.
Book Synopsis The Superhero Multiverse by : Lorna Piatti-Farnell
Download or read book The Superhero Multiverse written by Lorna Piatti-Farnell and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-11-01 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Superhero Multiverse focuses on the evolving meanings of the superhero icon in 21st-century film and popular media, with an emphasis on re-adapting, re-imagining, and re-making. With its focus on multimedia and transmedia transformations, The Superhero Multiverse pivots on two important points: firstly, it reflects on the core concerns of the superhero narrative—including the relationship between ‘superhero comics’ and ‘superhero films’, the comics roots of superhero media, matters of canon and hybridity, and issues of recycling and stereotyping in superhero films and media texts. Secondly, it considers how these intersecting textual and cultural preoccupations are intrinsic to the process of remaking and re-adapting superheroes, and brings attention to multiple ways of materializing these iconic figures in our contemporary context.

Book Synopsis Me vs. the Multiverse: Pleased to Meet Me by : S. G. Wilson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you suddenly met someone who's you--only better? That's what happens in this hilarious new series for fans of Stuart Gibb's Moon Base Alpha and quirky sci-fi animated shows like Rick and Morty and Regular Show. It all starts with a note folded into the shape of an origami octopus: "Hi, Me. Yes, you. You're me, and I'm you." If you believe this and the other origami notes that follow--which middle schooler Meade Macon absolutely, positively does NOT--the concept of parallel dimensions is true, and there is a convention full of alternate versions of Meade waiting for his RSVP. It's got to be a joke. Except . . . the octopus is an origami fold Meade thought he invented. And the note writer has a lot of intel on him that nobody else should know. I mean, he's told his best friend Twig a lot about himself, but he's definitely kept mum about that time he sleepwalk-peed into his Lego container when he was six. Could Me Con be a real thing? And should he go?

Book Synopsis Time and the Multiverse by : Gerald Holdsworth PhD
Download or read book Time and the Multiverse written by Gerald Holdsworth PhD and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2017-12-13 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is there a mechanism through which some people can see the future? How can a life in this universe be predetermined? Where might information about the future exist? If we are to have faith in our grasp of physics and cosmological principles, it must exist outside this universe. How can we structure a multiverse so that it broadly accommodates precognition? In Time and the Multiverse, author Dr. Gerald Holdsworth addresses these questions and more and discusses phenomena that cannot be explained by the principles of established physics. Holdsworth accepted the challenge of explaining the basis behind the common experience of precognition, the easiest phenomena to verify but the hardest to explain. He tells how he built a looped version of the serial, time-zoned multiverse which exhibits time zoning within the regular clock time system as well as revealing what can be termed a timing system, which coordinates the processes within the multiverses Cosmic quantum computer. This second time is in practice represented by a fixed frequency of time pips occurring within the computer. Author notes What I present in chapter 2 of this book concerning the dynamics of the multiverse cannot be described by mathematical equations because the physics isnt available. I have relied entirely on logical statements and geometry to produce the Cosmic Blueprint and, from a special case of it, the Cosmological model. Arthur Eddington and Wolfgang Pauli knew that to achieve a complete understanding of our existence one has to include all the unexplained anomalies (like precognition) along with established physics: quantum mechanics, particle physics and Einsteins gravity theory. Eddington and John W Dunne realized that time would play a major role in tying together all the evidence. Dunnes attempts ending in 1955 were invalid due to his deliberate exclusion of the existence of multiple universes. He did at least finally confess his spiritual experiences.

Book Synopsis The Simulated Multiverse by : Rizwan Virk
Download or read book The Simulated Multiverse written by Rizwan Virk and published by Bayview Books, LLC. This book was released on 2021-10-15 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do multiple versions of ourselves exist in parallel universes living out their lives in different timelines? In this follow up to his bestseller, The Simulation Hypothesis, MIT Computer Scientist and Silicon Valley Game Pioneer Rizwan Virk explores these topics from a new lens: that of simulation theory. If we are living in a digital universe, then many of the complexities and baffling characteristics of our reality start to make more sense. Quantum computing lets us simulate complex phenomena in parallel, allowing the simulation to explore many realities at once to find the most "optimum" path forward. Could this explain not only the enigmatic Mandela Effect but provide us with a new understanding of time and space? Bringing his unique trademark style of combining video games, computer science, quantum physics and computing with lots of philosophy and science fiction, Virk gives us a new way to think about not just our universe, but all possible realities!
Book Synopsis God and the Multiverse by : Victor J. Stenger
Download or read book God and the Multiverse written by Victor J. Stenger and published by Prometheus Books. This book was released on 2014-09-09 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cosmologists have reasons to believe that the vast universe in which we live is just one of an endless number of other universes within a multiverse—a mind-boggling array that may extend indefinitely in space and endlessly in both the past and the future. Victor Stenger reviews the key developments in the history of science that led to the current consensus view of astrophysicists, taking pains to explain essential concepts and discoveries in accessible terminology. The author shows that science’s emerging understanding of the multiverse—consisting of trillions upon trillions of galaxies—is fully explicable in naturalistic terms with no need for supernatural forces to explain its origin or ongoing existence. How can conceptions of God, traditional or otherwise, be squared with this new worldview? The author shows how long-held beliefs will need to undergo major revision or otherwise face eventual extinction.

Book Synopsis The Multiverse by : Edited by Paul F. Kisak
Download or read book The Multiverse written by Edited by Paul F. Kisak and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-12-03 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationships among the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered. Multiple universes have been hypothesized in cosmology, physics, astronomy, religion, philosophy, transpersonal psychology, and fiction, particularly in science fiction and fantasy. In these contexts, parallel universes are also called "alternate universes," "quantum universes," "interpenetrating dimensions," "parallel dimensions," "parallel worlds," "alternate realities," "alternate timelines," and "dimensional planes," among other names. The physics community continues to fiercely debate the multiverse hypothesis. Prominent physicists disagree about whether the multiverse may exist, and whether it is even a legitimate topic of scientific inquiry. Serious concerns have been raised about whether attempts to exempt the multiverse from experimental verification may erode public confidence in science and ultimately damage the nature of fundamental physics. Some have argued that the multiverse question is philosophical rather than scientific because it lacks falsifiability; the ability to disprove a theory by means of scientific experiment has always been part of the accepted scientific method. Paul Steinhardt has famously argued that no experiment can rule out a theory if it provides for all possible outcomes. This book discusses the numerous concepts and theories concerning multiple universes.
