Book excerpt: This book is about one human's love for another regardless of their man-made identities, and socially defined relationships. This book is about faith, regardless of words used to connect to the higher being. This book is about keeping upbeat attitude and keeping hope no matter how bleak the situation might be. Learn to accept, learn to forgive, and learn to let go. After all, life in the big picture is nothing but unpredictable. Cancer sucks, death sucks even more. But we humans don't have the power to stop either of them from messing with our lives. They enter our lives whenever and wherever they choose to. Cancer is so common that each one of us have known someone who has dealt with the disease; some of us have lost a loved one to cancer. Common does not always mean simple, and it also does not mean we know everything about it. The diagnosis of cancer, regardless of the disease's curability, is almost always nerve-wracking, even for healthcare providers like the main character of this book who is a veteran nurse. This book is written in first person; the subject is a middle aged woman who had been separated from her boyfriend some thirty years ago and then after three decades when she searches for an oncologist for treatment of an aggressive cancer that she was recently diagnosed, she finds her ex-boyfriend's name and decides to see him. That brings back the memory of their past together, and she starts going though her old diary she had written some thirty years in the past. Part of the story is set in Nepal (from the diary) and the other part is set in the USA ( this takes place after her cancer diagnosis). The main character of the story is born with 'Manglik' cosmic influencer, meaning that the planet Mars "mangal Graha" was in such position in the solar system at the time of her birth that it would have strong negative effect on her husband if she married a man who was non-Manglik (a person born at the time when the planet Mars was not in such position.) What happens next changes the lives of the main characters.

And so it is profoundly important to understand how to approach and experience these occasions with grace, endurance, and joy. In a culture that does its best to deny death, Timothy Keller--theologian and bestselling author--teaches us about facing death with the resources of faith from the Bible. With wisdom and compassion, Keller finds in the Bible an alternative to both despair or denial. A short, powerful book, On Death gives us the tools to understand the meaning of death within God's vision of life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Loneliness has reached epidemic proportions. We have lost the art of connection and relationship, and it's killing us. Odds are good that you have a loved one or friend whose struggle with addiction, mental illness, suicidal thoughts, or self-injury stems from loneliness. Maybe it's you. Perhaps you're feeling depressed or anxious, struggling with compulsive behavior, or simply questioning whether you are truly seen, loved, and valued. The culprit could well be that you're lonely. Dr. Mark Mayfield understands the crisis well, as it led to him nearly taking his own life as a teen. As a board-certified counselor, he has built a reputable counseling practice on the forefront of brain science and attachment therapies, dedicating his life to helping adults and adolescents confront their feelings of isolation and alienation. He is relied upon by new and experienced counselors for training, and he has become an anchor and guide for community leaders, educators, and faith leaders. When you read and apply the practices in The Path out of Loneliness, you'll develop habits that move you from isolation to connection. You'll learn the importance of attachment, the art of connection, the power of relationships, the priority of personal responsibility, the gift of vulnerability, and the vision of God, who knew from the beginning that it's not good for us to be abandoned to ourselves. This book will guide you, the people you love, and the community you live in toward a richer, fuller, healthier life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A true story of life after death by a skeptical corporate lawyer. He tells about the many surprising and ingenious signs that came to him and several others following the death of his wife. Signs that make their divine source explicit. Signs so moving and convincing that his faith is restored, his life transformed. Significantly, a prominent and historic New England church plays a major role, as do three senior ministers. The first sign appears in the sanctuary with a minister as a co-witness. Millions of Americans have received comforting after-death contacts, but are unsure how such experiences fit into traditional religious beliefs. In an important first, such contacts coming directly and spontaneously from deceased loved ones are shown to have a biblical basis and to fulfill biblical promises.

Book excerpt: New York Times Bestseller “A touching series of essays in which Evans, with Chu’s invisible pen, explores how one might find a path forward in Christianity beyond conservative evangelicalism” -Eliza Griswold, The New Yorker “Evans died at 37, but a beautiful new book captures her brave outlook. . . . I could not help but notice the poetry in Evans’s prose. . . . What readers will find in these pages was someone deeply human: funny, irreverent, curious, wise, forgiving, nonjudgmental.” -Maggie Smith, The Washington Post A collection of original writings by Rachel Held Evans, whose reflections on faith and life continue to encourage, challenge, and influence. Rachel Held Evans is widely recognized for her theologically astute, profoundly honest, and beautifully personal books, which have guided, instructed, edified, and shaped Christians as they seek to live out a just and loving faith. At the time of her tragic death in 2019, Rachel was working on a new book about wholeheartedness. With the help of her close friend and author Jeff Chu, that work-in-progress has been woven together with some of her other unpublished writings into a rich collection of essays that ask candid questions about the stories we’ve been told—and the stories we tell—about our faith, our selves, and our world. This book is for the doubter and the dreamer, the seeker and the sojourner, those who long for a sense of spiritual wholeness as well as those who have been hurt by the Church but can’t seem to let go of the story of Jesus. Through theological reflection and personal recollection, Rachel wrestles with God’s grace and love, looks unsparingly at what the Church is and does, and explores universal human questions about becoming and belonging. An unforgettable, moving, and intimate book.

A devout Christian throughout his early adulthood, Jeff reached a crossroad with the death of his mother in 1988 and found himself turning away from God. On April 22nd, 2014 Jeff was nearly killed in a head on collision. Beating the odds and surviving the crash, one week later Jeff suffered multiple pulmonary emboli. Only 1 out of 20 survive such a traumatic incident. Jeff slipped into a void of nothingness; the absolute absence of the presence of God. A void filled with demonic beings and symbolic icons of hell and death. Miraculously surviving the crash and emboli, God also delivered Jeff from alcoholism and chronic depression. Through it all there was his wife Suzanne at his side as if she belonged there by God's own invitation. Driving him along the way. Jeff has since rededicated his life to Christ and now dedicates himself to church ministries, online ministries and authoring diverse books.

Book excerpt: "I saw Papa after he died. He looked like he was sleeping. Mommy told me that Papa was in heaven now. I didn't understand because I could still see him lying there." Confused after the death of his grandfather, his Dad shares how God made the first person out of dirt and with the help of an unlikely object, Mom shows that the part we really love is the part on the inside that we cant see. Grappling with how to explain to her own daughters the death of a close friend, Karen has created a story to both gently and clearly explain the relationship between the body and the spirit. Its a story that has been used time and time again in her family and now this story is available to you. Death can be a difficult subject to understand, but this story is written in such a beautiful way that even the youngest in the family can gain a better understanding of what happens and why we still see our loved ones even after they have passed. It is Karen's prayer that you can use this story to help the children in your life navigate the difficult questions about death.
