Book excerpt: I had asked the ultimate question; what is Life before and so now my prayers were being answered. I was about to find out for myself. Never imagined this is how God was going to capture my heart but he did and so the journey begun. This provided insight on how God healed my broken heart as he mended and repaired my being. At first it felt like I went in for an open heart surgery and I was not on any medication so every single thing that was touched on I really felt it. As painful as some of the things done to me in the past felt, I came to understand that was the reason why my Lord was there so I chose to allow Him into my life for healing to begin. It was in Him to give and so a new heart was provided for me to be able to live pain free. As I accepted the gift I was given I felt the heart beat like never before. A tear drop rolled down my cheek and I knew I was transformed. I came to find out it was new life in me. I was coming out a new person, a new being who was no longer conformed to the world but renewed, enlightened & enriched. I woke up and realized I was no longer sleeping beauty as I got the awakening. To me that was healing from the house of heaven. I was now free from heartache, no longer day dreaming but living the dream. The documentary touches on life experiences and showcases a woman's journey as she worked to free herself from oppression rebuilding her life to make it out of the wilderness alive. It turned out to be a journey of a lifetime.

Book excerpt: Let me introduce myself. My name is Victor Best. If you live in Santa Barbara, California, and you are seeking psychotherapy, I would likely be high on most referral lists. I have been practicing for over thirty years. Even now at sixty-eight, I love my work and the people I serve. My wife taught public school here as long as I had been in practice until she retired five years ago. She was struck down with cancer three years later. Her last months were brutal for both of us. She died a year ago, and my friends and I spread her ashes at sea as she had requested. The experience has been so unreal to me that I as yet havent come to terms with her being gone from my life. I have not done well in dealing with her passing. She was so central to my life. Only through friendship and work have I kept my life together, but I feel as if I am only going through the motions. This day is a painful anniversary and will be more of a challenge for me and the patients I will see than usual. Hopefully, all will somehow benefit from it.

We are all unique with a purpose, and with an open mind, our connection to Spirit can be filled with blessings, joy and the potential for a wonderfully inspired life. Supporters of Losing Your Mind To Find Your Soul "People would have to buy multiple books to get everything you two are putting into this book" 'I absolutely love your book. Honestly, I'm reading it again because it had so much information. It's deep and embodies so many aspects of spirituality. That's what I enjoyed the most about it. It's different because of that. Everything around spirituality, books, usually focus on only one or two areas. I think back to that time when I was desperately seeking answers and had no one around me to ask or talk to about this. If your book would have been available, wow, a game-changer. I can't tell you how many books I've read, especially when I was desperately seeking out everything and anything that talks about universal beliefs, all of it. Many things were, well, a waste of time. Then I would find a book which is a gold nugget. That's what makes your book amazing. You've covered so many things around this that even if only a few things resonate with a reader, you've given that person a trail and a path to follow. It will lead them to go and open more doors.' - Beta Reader 'This is a great read. I loved that it had little nuggets of information on many areas of spirituality. The author was open-minded. It’s a wonderful book to grab and explore.' - Amazon Review 'Wow I can’t put this book down such a great read.' - Amazon Review "I stumbled across this book by mere coincidence, although there is no such thing. While scrolling through TikTok there were so many books tokens to try the book out, and I am so glad I did. The insight in his own spiritual journey which reflects somewhat so much with my own and explains so much in how I’m feeling and how to accept the process. Fantastic." - Robert Hunt. - Losing Your Mind to Find Your Soul (Audible)

I lived and surfed in Miami, Florida, where the waves were as big as the bikinis were small, and every day was another party. The war in Vietnam was an abstract thing. We all knew it would be over soon. I thought I would be riding my surfboard forever, but the US Army had other plans. Without any warning I was drafted, forced into a conflict I neither understood nor believed in. While others went off to be slaughtered, I went AWOL. What followed was a two year journey of love, despair, murder---losing my country, keeping my soul.
Book Synopsis Can't Find My Way Home by : Martin Torgoff
Download or read book Can't Find My Way Home written by Martin Torgoff and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2004-05-13 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can't Find My Way Home is a history of illicit drug use in America in the second half of the twentieth century and a personal journey through the drug experience. It's the remarkable story of how America got high, the epic tale of how the American Century transformed into the Great Stoned Age. Martin Torgoff begins with the avant-garde worlds of bebop jazz and the emerging Beat writers, who embraced the consciousness-altering properties of marijuana and other underground drugs. These musicians and writers midwifed the age of marijuana in the 1960s even as Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (later Ram Dass) discovered the power of LSD, ushering in the psychedelic era. While President John Kennedy proclaimed a New Frontier and NASA journeyed to the moon, millions of young Americans began discovering their own new frontiers on a voyage to inner space. What had been the province of a fringe avant-garde only a decade earlier became a mass movement that affected and altered mainstream America. And so America sped through the century, dropping acid and eating magic mushrooms at home, shooting heroin and ingesting amphetamines in Vietnam, snorting cocaine in the disco era, smoking crack cocaine in the devastated inner cities of the 1980s, discovering MDMA (Ecstasy) in the rave culture of the 1990s. Can't Find My Way Home tells this extraordinary story by weaving together first-person accounts and historical background into a narrative vast in scope yet rich in intimate detail. Among those who describe their experiments with consciousness are Allen Ginsberg, Timothy Leary, Robert Stone, Wavy Gravy, Grace Slick, Oliver Stone, Peter Coyote, David Crosby, and many others from Haight Ashbury to Studio 54 to housing projects and rave warehouses. But Can't Find My Way Home does not neglect the recovery movement, the war on drugs, and the ongoing debate over drug policy. And even as Martin Torgoff tells the story of his own addiction and recovery, he neither romanticizes nor demonizes drugs. If he finds them less dangerous than the moral crusaders say they are, he also finds them less benign than advocates insist. Illegal drugs changed the cultural landscape of America, and they continue to shape our country, with enormous consequences. This ambitious, fascinating book is the story of how that happened.
