Book Synopsis El futuro del turismo en Andalucía by : José A. López Sánchez
Download or read book El futuro del turismo en Andalucía written by José A. López Sánchez and published by Dykinson. This book was released on 2023-12-26 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book La imagen de Andalucía en el turismo written by Javier Hernández Ramírez and published by Centro de Estudios Andaluces. This book was released on 2008 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The City's Hinterland by : Keith Hoggart
Download or read book The City's Hinterland written by Keith Hoggart and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-03-16 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the fact that the rural commuter belts of cities are major loci of population change, economic growth and dynamic social change within city regions, most research tends to ignore this area while focusing on the built-up city core. However, with the current emphasis on the role of rural areas in policy debates, it is vital to recognize the importance of the 'commuter belt'. By comparing four major European cities (in England, France, Germany and Spain), this book offers the first comparative investigation of the dynamism of city rural hinterlands. It assesses whether rural areas will become effectively integrated into quality of life improvements as a result of their inter-dependencies with cities, focusing on the critical arenas of employment change, housing and service provision. In doing so, it investigates how change in these three fields impact on the quality of life and physical environment of rural hinterlands.
Book Synopsis Second Home Tourism in Europe by : Zoran Roca
Download or read book Second Home Tourism in Europe written by Zoran Roca and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-01 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bringing together a wide range of studies from twelve European countries, this book offers a state-of-the-art overview of the driving forces behind spatial diversity and social complexity inherent in second home expansion in all parts of the continent - from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean and from the British Isles to Russia - in the context of contemporary mobility patterns largely induced by tourism. As befits the overall conception of the book as a compendium of current second home research, planning and policy issues, the book endorses the following: multidisciplinary approaches to the second home phenomenon as an expression of the ’leisure class’ mobility and recreation-based lifestyles, as well as a constitutive element of post-productivist land-use patterns and landscape change; and socio-economic and territorial development planning and policy-related perspectives on social change and spatial re-organization provoked by the expansion of second home tourism in times of prosperity and crisis. ’This book shows that second home tourism has become such an important sector of the economy that it is no longer possible to let it develop freely: it is the source of new forms of social deprivation; it generates residential economies that are particularly sensitive to the economic cycle; it often impairs beautiful landscapes and increases human pressure on natural environments. As a result, it is one of the major physical planning stakes of touristic areas’ (From the concluding essay by Paul Claval, Université de Paris I - Sorbonne, Paris, France).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book collects the best papers presented at a recent conference organized by SIEV (Italian Society of Appraisal and Valuation) to promote the interaction between Appraisal and Valuation and other social sciences to study the effects of migration on value and social, spatial and economic systems in a multicultural city. The book consists of seventeen papers in two parts. The first part, "Values and Relational Systems in Multicultural Societies", features how social sciences--including appraisal and valuation, urban planning, philosophy, psychology, and geography--take different approaches to studying values and relationships, converging to form a unified mosaic of complementary and interconnected knowledge. The second part, "Permeability and Permanence of Values in a Contemporary Multicultural City", highlights the most crucial topics on which appraisals and models focus to interpret and represent the influence of migration on the real estate market in different urban and territorial contexts, from historical centers, small towns, to tourist cities, also taking into account sustainability, maintenance and regeneration of cities.
Book Synopsis Real Estate and Destination Development in Tourism by : Peter Keller

This book was released on 2008 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Real estate is one of the driving factors of destination development. In some destinations value added from the construction and sales of second homes even surpasses value added created in the traditional tourism sector. This book, edited by Peter Keller and Thomas Bieger, contributes to the deeper understanding of the dynamics of real estate development in destinations: the role, structure and development of destination real estate markets; evolving real estate business models in destinations; the socio-economic impacts of real estate on destinations; optimizing destination capacity through real estate management strategies, and public-private governance approaches for managing holiday property market development. The book provides a unique database for the important topic of real estate and destination development in tourism with contributions from 43 researchers and 18 case studies.
Book Synopsis The Spanish Coastal Systems by : Juan A. Morales
Download or read book The Spanish Coastal Systems written by Juan A. Morales and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-09-03 with total page 809 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph presents the state of art of the geologic knowledge about the Spanish coast obtained through scientific research in the last 30 years. From a general point of view, coasts are the most quickly changing systems of the Earth. This is critical, since many human resources, such as the main part of economic and social activities, are located in the coastal areas. Especially in the case of Spain these coasts include cities, wide industrial areas (including harbor complexes), important ecologic systems, and our main economic resource: tourism. Understanding the dynamic functioning of each element of this coast is vital for correct future coastal management, so as to solve problems derived from bad plans developed in the last decades of the twentieth century. This is a valuable text for advanced graduate students and coastal researchers, which connects the specific dynamic functioning of the main Spanish coastal environments and their relationships with human activities.
