But it doesn't have to be this way. Let Captivating help you discover the woman you were meant to be.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Women’s Conflicts About Eating and Sexuality explores the strong relationships food and sex have represented to women over the years. No other book has spelled out so clearly the parallels between sex and eating nor integrated the relationship of these to women’s basic need to be loved. Today’s dilemma for women--be fat or go hungry--and the endless variations and unsatisfying solutions to this problem have contributed to the incidence of anorexia, bulimia, and obesity. The pursuit of slimness, the obsession with having the perfect body, excessive aerobicizing, and diet books ad nauseam are all part of this phenomenon. Authors in Women’s Conflicts About Eating and Sexuality skillfully discuss the parallel between women’s obsession with sex and romance in the fifties and their obsession with food today. An important book for all women, it sheds light on the complex issues facing women and devotes special attention to the career woman and the additional pressures to be slim and stay slim. The woman who reads this potentially life-changing book can examine, question, and change her behavior, using the specific step-by-step program aid included in the book. This book is for every woman who has ever worried about being too fat or too sexual. Women’s Conflicts About Eating and Sexuality will appeal to women of all ages--young women and their mothers will be fascinated by the parallels between sexual obsessions of thirty years ago and the eating obsessions of today. This healing book will particularly attract single career women for whom sex and relationships are fraught with complications. Counselors and therapists will find this book an excellent resource in their work with helping women. It is also a good auxiliary text for courses in Women’s Studies focusing on psychology and history of women and the sociology of women and eating disorders.

This book was released on 2022-10-28 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pascal R. Politano’s latest book could be considered a companion to or a second volume of his last survey of the state of our Union. It expands on certain matters covered more briefly in As Darkness Falls and reaffirms others that are worthy of reexamination. As he points out in this latest treatise, he takes us on a ramble through the current state of the Union in its domestic and foreign aff airs; our relations with Russia, China, North and South Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Iran, and more recently, Ukraine. In a word, the author addresses the crises we face in more detail, and suggests possible solutions to resolve them. With gut-wrenching candor and descriptive language, Politano tells us why racism still exists in this country for reasons that transcend skin color and the societal prejudices that have existed in this country for centuries, and he returns to the threat of global climate change and the urgent need for Constitutional change throughout the book. As the book’s subtitle implies, Politano explains how avarice, cupidity, the overweening, unquenchable striving for wealth and power in both the public and private sectors in America, domestically and abroad, is in great part responsible for the precarious position of our “Great Experiment in Democracy” today. And as a leitmotiv, a dominant recurring theme throughout the book, and somewhere given in his esteemed Latin: Too much freedom debases us (Omnes deteriores sumus licentia). In a recent interview, the author revealed that his greatest concern now is that during this time of such disarray in our sociopolitical aff airs domestically, the United States is in no condition to engage in a major war, either conventional or even worse, a nuclear one. Politano feels that should China actually invade and ultimately repossess Taiwan, and at the same time conclude a pact with Russia, and perhaps even Iran, victory for the Ukrainians would become a forlorn hope. Adding to our domestic problems, he sees the virtually endless, bipartisan, legal wrangling between our “so-called Department of Justice” and former President Trump, his enablers, and the millions of deluded citizens who blindly support him, even as evidence of his criminal acts while in and out of office continues to grow. He fi nds it inconceivable that newscasters still speak of Trump as a potential candidate for the Presidency in 2024. Pascal R. Politano served twenty years in the United States Army in a variety of fields such as intelligence, R&D, psychological operations, political warfare, nuclear weapons employment, and special operations. He was selected for the Distinguished Instructor Award at the JFK Institute for Military Assistance. He was also the U.S. Senior Advisor to the Republic of Vietnam Political Warfare College. Following his retirement, he lectured for eight years in English and Political Science for the University of Maryland in Europe. He was selected as intra-European faculty speaker on Political Warfare and also was a member of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. He has lived in the Far East, Germany, Italy, and France, and has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, North Africa and South and Central America. He now resides in a remote area in the foothills of the Adirondacks where he continues to write fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.

Book excerpt: The book is totally fiction, but should make you laugh as you imagine your brothers, cousins or local boys in the same situations that the boys in the book find them in. Although I don’t think you should try any of the techniques on a boy, as it would be terribly embarrassing for him. The book starts with various sections, about controlling boys by various girly means – a how to guide and also various suggestions of things to do with them, when under your control, before reading the stories themselves. The main section contains about 12 stories, with boys of ages from 6 to 12 or so, but the main story of 8-year old Tom and his young 7-year old sister, Pam, is very large and so is interspersed, between the other stories with Tom Continued - Parts B to L, to stop you getting bored, with the one boy, being put through his paces by his sister.

The Gothic Victorian estate built there has housed the family for generations, and has also become home to an ancient evil forever linked to the Piper name. . . As a boy, Rick Piper discovered he had "the sight." It was supposed to be a family myth, but Rick could see the greenjacks--the tiny mischievous demons who taunted him throughout his childhood--and who stole the soul of his twin brother Robin one Halloween night. Now a widower with two children of his own, Rick has returned home to build a new life. He wants to believe the greenjacks don't exist, that they were a figment of his own childish fears and the vicious torment he suffered at the hands of his brother. But he can still see and hear them, and they haven't forgotten that Rick escaped them so long ago. And this time, they don't just want Rick. This time they want his children. . .

Book excerpt: Dr. Jack Mc Kane returns to continue where he left off in the first book of job(s): In search of the fatted calf of jobs. The odds of finding such a sweet job is unlikely. It doesn't matter to Jack that he is wasting his energies on fruitless enterprises invariably resulting in extended periods of uncompensated unemployment. Jack, once more, travels the world; expanding his search beyond his native shores. His brooding, tragic, Irish outlook on life puts him in the company of the Bible's own Charlie Brown - Job. However, unlike Job, Jack isn't going down without cursing the gods and spitting into the wind. For all his irreverence and blasphemy he is shameless. He says he'll recant it all, and ask forgiveness from his deathbed if beseeched by the angels to repent, and offered an endless vacation in the afterlife. In this sequel, Jack gets more than he bargains for. It just goes to show; that there's something to the admonition: Be careful what you wish for...
