Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I don't consider this a self help book, but more of a "Spirit Help" book of counsel or thoughts for consideration. The title is self explanatory in a way. However the term "listening to the wind" is from the Native American tradition, as is speaking from the heart, or the one eye of the heart (Chante Ista). My view of listening to the wind is listening to what nature, the universe, and your higher self is telling you, or maybe telling you to pass on to others. Speaking from the heart is conveying the messages you get from listening to the wind. It can also mean speaking straight and not with a forked tongue. You travel the road of life and you write about things, and maybe these things will strike a chord with others. I leave it to Great Spirit as to whether or not this is meaningful for you. My intention is that some kind of healing will take place from the thoughts that I am offering for consideration. I believe in the old ways where a counsel of elders would sit around a campfire and speak their thoughts. Take it in that spirit. Book excerpt: Companion to the beloved bestselling classic Circle of Stones, I Sit Listening to the Wind invites women everywhere to tap into the powers of interiority, regain the sacred, and create communities of support -- in the process reimagining and remaking the modern world. Without coming to terms and seeking balance with their masculine side, Judith Duerk says, women can never reach the full potential of their feminine side. For those seeking balance between the masculine urge to do and the feminine desire to be, Duerk's mixture of prose, poetry, and reflective questions creates a model for integration. Includes a reading group guide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Rainbow Rowell's epic fantasy, the Simon Snow trilogy, concludes with Any Way the Wind Blows. In Carry On, Simon Snow and his friends realized that everything they thought they understood about the world might be wrong. And in Wayward Son, they wondered whether everything they understood about themselves might be wrong. Now, Simon and Baz and Penelope and Agatha must decide how to move forward. For Simon, that means choosing whether he still wants to be part of the World of Mages — and if he doesn't, what does that mean for his relationship with Baz? Meanwhile Baz is bouncing between two family crises and not finding any time to talk to anyone about his newfound vampire knowledge. Penelope would love to help, but she's smuggled an American Normal into London, and now she isn't sure what to do with him. And Agatha? Well, Agatha Wellbelove has had enough. Any Way the Wind Blows takes the gang back to England, back to Watford, and back to their families for their longest and most emotionally wrenching adventure yet. This book is a finale. It tells secrets and answers questions and lays ghosts to rest. The Simon Snow Trilogy was conceived as a book about Chosen One stories; Any Way the Wind Blows is an ending about endings—about catharsis and closure, and how we choose to move on from the traumas and triumphs that try to define us.

Book excerpt: Winner of the Staunch Book Prize. “A beautifully written and expertly structured medieval mystery packed with intrigue, drama and shock revelations.” —Minneapolis Star-Tribune An extraordinary new novel by Samantha Harvey—whose books have been nominated for the Man Booker Prize, the Women’s Prize for Fiction (formerly the Orange Prize), and the Guardian First Book Award—The Western Wind is a riveting story of faith, guilt, and the freedom of confession. It’s 1491. In the small village of Oakham, its wealthiest and most industrious resident, Tom Newman, is swept away by the river during the early hours of Shrove Saturday. Was it murder, suicide, or an accident? Narrated from the perspective of local priest John Reve—patient shepherd to his wayward flock—a shadowy portrait of the community comes to light through its residents’ tortured revelations. As some of their darkest secrets are revealed, the intrigue of the unexplained death ripples through the congregation. But will Reve, a man with secrets of his own, discover what happened to Newman? And what will happen if he can’t? Written with timeless eloquence, steeped in the spiritual traditions of the Middle Ages, and brimming with propulsive suspense, The Western Wind finds Samantha Harvey at the pinnacle of her outstanding novelistic power. “Beautifully rendered, deeply affecting, thoroughly thoughtful and surprisingly prescient . . . a story of a community crowded with shadows and secrets.” —The New York Times Book Review “Ms. Harvey has summoned this remote world with writing of the highest quality, conjuring its pungencies and peculiarities.” —The Wall Street Journal “Brings medieval England back to life.” —The Washington Post

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So often people pray and wonder if their prayers, or even thoughts, have been lost to the atmosphere. Nancy Brinkley Weems came to a relationship with Christ as an adult with many questions. Not wanting mans answers, she sought out Gods voice. When a friend read a God conversation, she was taken aback that someone would freely chat with God and hear from Him directly. In You Talk, Ill Listen, Nancy Brinkley Weems will use her teaching skills and knack for bringing new information in at a level that anyone can grasp. Sharing her battles of spiritual growth through growing up, and growing old; chatting with God about the trials in life, including losing her husband of thirty-eight years, and hearing Gods voice are some of the themes of this book. God spoke us into existence and is still speaking to us now. I have to say I was amazed with this book. I found it amazing that you so honestly bared the truth of your soul and your relationship with God, so that others could find theirs. Angela Lowe, New Smyrna Beach, Florida God uses you to speak to others, and he is allowing that to happen in a very meaningful way. Your words, which I believe are inspired by God, have provided insight and comfort during a tragic time in my life. Lauren Canary,Physicians Assistant, Wauchula, Florida
