Assim tem se dado em discussões sobre línguas e suas variações, sua heterogeneidade constitutiva. Forças centralizadoras teimam em querer afirmar normas e padrões para as línguas, imaginando, sempre, uma homogeneidade e uma estabilidade para elas. Assim, também, tem se dado em reflexões sobre a diversidade cultural e o conjunto de forças que desejam sobrepor culturas, mantendo ou criando hierarquizações, especialmente a partir de categorias modernas como progresso, evolução, civilidade, estrutura, ordem e organização. No âmbito dessas forças centralizantes, existiriam estruturas linguísticas superiores, formas linguísticas mais corretas do que outras, e, dentro da mesma lógica, expressões culturais mais desenvolvidas, evoluídas, acabadas, ética, cognitiva ou esteticamente [...] Os trabalhos aqui apresentados tomam partido, o partido da diversidade linguístico-cultural, o partido do plurilinguismo, do multi/transculturalismo, das trans-escalas, da laicidade que possibilita um diálogo entre religiões diversas, o partido dos multiletramentos e de uma educação crítica, que lê o mundo, como propõe Freire, e só depois lê a palavra. O mundo antecede a palavra. E se o mundo é plural, a palavra também o é, porque, na cola de Bakhtin e Voloshinov (2013), ela reflete e refrata o(s) mundo(s).
