Dans la première partie, nous constatons par une approche systémique, que la réorganisation de la gestion de la chaine d’approvisionnement est nécessaire, afin de répondre aux objectifs de sécurisation du circuit du médicament et de rationalisation des dépenses de santé. L'automatisation permet de libérer les moyens humains nécessaires à l’optimisation de l'informatisation et la gestion de la chaine logistique. La deuxième partie dresse les caractéristiques des différentes technologies disponibles, afin de réaliser un choix d’automatisation de la distribution du médicament pour un établissement généraliste. Ce travail montre que le choix d’une technologie n’est pas simple en raison de leur diversité et exige une analyse précise de leurs particularités, au vu des besoins de l’établissement, de ses attentes et de ses projets en cours ou futurs. Dans la dernière partie, nous réalisons une étude de faisabilité d’un projet d’automatisation pour le centre hospitalier de La Roche-sur-Yon. L'analyse des besoins permet de déterminer les critères prioritaires en vue du déploiement de l’informatisation, projet pivot de la sécurisation de son circuit du médicament, dans un contexte de centralisation de la distribution. Les résultats montrent que l’automatisation réaliserait des gains de productivité sur les tâches logistiques, permettant d'améliorer la qualité de ces tâches, de développer des activités pharmaceutiques à plus haute valeur ajoutée et de répondre aux impératifs réglementaires de traçabilité des médicaments.
