Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All the creative art psychotherapies (art, dance, music, drama, poetry) can trace their roots to C. G. Jung's early work on active imagination. Joan Chodorow here offers a collection of Jung's writings on active imagination, gathered together for the first time. Jung developed this concept between the years 1913 and 1916, following his break with Freud. During this time, he was disoriented and experienced intense inner turmoil --he suffered from lethargy and fears, and his moods threatened to overwhelm him. Jung searched for a method to heal himself from within, and finally decided to engage with the impulses and images of his unconscious. It was through the rediscovery of the symbolic play of his childhood that Jung was able to reconnect with his creative spirit. In a 1925 seminar and again in his memoirs, he tells the remarkable story of his experiments during this time that led to his self-healing. Jung learned to develop an ongoing relationship with his lively creative spirit through the power of imagination and fantasies. He termed this therapeutic method "active imagination." This method is based on the natural healing function of the imagination, and its many expressions. Chodorow clearly presents the texts, and sets them in the proper context. She also interweaves her discussion of Jung's writings and ideas with contributions from Jungian authors and artists.

Book excerpt: Has your child lived before? In this fascinating, controversial, and groundbreaking book, Carol Bowman reveals overwhelming evidence of past life memories in children. Not only are such experiences real, they are far more common than most people realize. Bowman's extraordinary investigation was sparked when her young son, Chase, described his own past-life death on a Civil War battlefield--an account so accurate it was authenticated by an expert historian. Even more astonishing, Chase's chronic eczema and phobia of loud noises completely disappeared after he had the memory. Inspired by Chase's dramatic healing, Bowman compiled dozens of cases and wrote this comprehensive study to explain how very young children remember their past lives, spontaneously and naturally. In Children's Past Lives, she tells how to distinguish between a true past life memory and a fantasy, offers practical advice to parents on how to respond to a past life memory, and shows how to foster the spiritual and healing benefits of these experiences. Perhaps the most moving, convincing, and best-documented evidence yet for life after death, Children's Past Lives will stand alongside the classics of Betty J. Eadie, Raymond Moody, and Brian Weiss in its power to comfort, uplift, and transform our thinking about life after death

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Things were so simple when I was young! Families worked and played together. We ate dinner together every night. We talked about our dreams, and everyday happenings at the dinner table. Everyone helped with the chores; so that we could do fun things together. We played games together, and had lots of water fights in the summer. We went fishing when we could! We did everything as a family! We may not have had a lot of extras, but we had what we needed; and that was our family! We all want to give our children all the things we never had; but by giving them all the things they want are we helping them? Or are we setting them up to fail. If our children don't have to work for things, they don't appreciate them. We need to show them that our families, are more important than possessions! We need to get back to families working and playing together. So our children will be stronger for the years ahead of them. Renee

Book excerpt: When a painful change enters your life without warning, it throws your entire world into chaos. You're going through life thinking you've got it all figured out, but then something happens that knocks you off course. All of a sudden, you're heading in a direction that you don't want to be going. You reach a critical point in your life where you can continue down this path of suffering and misery and still not change the events of the past, or choose to accept what has happened, stop the pain and make the decision to save yourself. When contemplating this myself, I had a sudden realisation. If I continued down the path of suffering, I would be guaranteed a life of misery. But if I decided to change something, I would at least have a chance of making a better life for myself. It was a hugely liberating feeling because I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I decided to make a change. I had no idea how so I wrote a list of 100 things I wanted to do in a year. My thinking was that if I could achieve half of what was on my list, I'd be in a much different place by the end of the year. And I was right; I had the best year of my life. I completed my first triathlon, went scuba diving for the first time, started a business, and read over 50 self-development books to name a few things. I went to some fantastic places, and I made some great memories but more than all of that I learnt a lot of valuable life lessons along the way. This book includes all those lessons that have helped me turn my life around. We are all in pursuit of something. Some call it success, others happiness or fulfilment. Whatever you are looking for from life is unique to you, and your actions are ultimately an attempt to find this feeling and make it last. Whatever this feeling means to you, the core theme of this book is helping you get there. The book offers a mix of philosophy, science, mindset hacks and practical tools for daily use. Each lesson starts with a quote followed by my attempt to tell a story, provide context, ask a question, or put forward an exercise so you may find a deeper understanding of whatever it is you are looking for. I hope that by the end of the book, you have learnt how to take complete control over your path in life and how to become a stronger, happier, and more confident person in every area of your life that is important to you. The lessons have helped me turn my life around, and I know it can do the same for you.

"An important, firsthand document for readers who wish to understand this seminal writer and thinker." —Booklist In the spring of 1957, when he was eighty-one years old, Carl Gustav Jung undertook the telling of his life story. Memories, Dreams, Reflections is that book, composed of conversations with his colleague and friend Aniela Jaffé, as well as chapters written in his own hand, and other materials. Jung continued to work on the final stages of the manuscript until shortly before his death on June 6, 1961, making this a uniquely comprehensive reflection on a remarkable life. Fully corrected, this edition also includes Jung's VII Sermones ad Mortuos.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all have a past. We've all made mistakes and done things we wish we hadn't done. We all wish we could just push a "delete" button on some of the choices we made yesterday and some of the things we've experienced years ago. What's more, our past has a way of shaping who we are today. It's amazing how one single dramatic experience of rejection in childhood can last through adulthood and forever alter our self-image or how one bad decision in college can overshadow the dreams of the future, even God-given dreams. Terri Savelle Foy knows that past hurts (whether brought on by someone else or our choice to sin) can undermine us. Raised a church kid, she knew all about sin but made the mistakes anyway. She learned firsthand that it's not until we truly get a revelation of who we are in Christ, and apply it to our lives, that our past can be erased and our dreams become real again. Terri shows how we can let go of our past, change our self-image and confidently move into a future with hope.

Book excerpt: This is the extraordinary story of Jenny Cockell, a young woman from Northamptonshire, who has always known that she has lived before. In her previous life her name was Mary. She was an Irishwoman who died 21 years before Jenny was born leaving several very young children without a mother or a stable, happy home. Yesterday's Children describes the trauma and worry of this continual pastlife memory, and Jenny's decision to search for her lost children. The book follows her progress through her dreams and memories, the revelations of hypnotism, her searches through maps, through local groups in Ireland, and her trip to the village where Mary had lived. Finally, she details her painstaking search for the children (now in their sixties and seventies) who had been split up after Mary's death, and the extraordinary reunions that took place. This is a fascinating book. In many ways it is a real life detective story, as we learn about Jenny, about Mary, her difficult life and finally, with great joy and trepidation, discover what happened to her children.
