PEQUENO PIMENTEL and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NOTRE THESE S'ARTICULE AUTOUR DES FONDEMENTS, LIMITES ET REPERCUSSIONS DE L'EMOTIVISME. AU LONG DE SES PAGES, NOUS ENVISAGEONS DE DEGAGER LES ELEMENTS QUI NOUS PERMETTRONT D'ACTUALISER SA PROBLEMATIQUE MAJEURE : CE QUE LES EMOTIONS PEUVENT NOUS APPRENDRE A PROPOS DE L'ETHIQUE. IL S'AGIT DONC DE TROUVER UNE CONNEXION POSSIBLE ENTRE RAISON ET EMOTION DANS LA STRUCTURE DE L'ACTION MORALE. NOTRE TRAVAIL S'OUVRE PAR UN CHAPITRE SUR LES FONDEMENTS DE LA PHILOSOPHIE ANALYTIQUE DU LANGAGE MORAL, DANS LEQUEL NOUS ESSAYONS DE DELIMITER LES ORIGINES ET LES INTERETS THEORIQUES DE LA META-ETHIQUE, A PARTIR DES VUES DE SON PRECURSEUR : GEORGE MOORE. ENSUITE, AFIN DE PARCOURIR LES DIATRIBES DE LA THEORIE EMOTIVISTE, NOUS TENTONS DE DEMONTRER LE SOUBASSEMENT NEOPOSITIVISTE DE SA CONCEPTION DE L'ETHIQUE EN TENANT COMPTE DES INFLUENCES DE SON PRINCIPAL INSTIGATEUR : LUDWIG WITTGENSTEIN. NOTRE EXAMEN DE L'APPROCHE EMOTIVISTE EST CENTRE SUR L'OUVRAGE "LANGUAGE. TRUTH AND LOGIC" D'ALFRED AYER ET SURTOUT "ETHICS AND LANGUAGE" DE CHARLES STEVENSON. ICI, NOUS ENVISAGEONS NON SEULEMENT DE METTRE EN RELIEF LES TRAITS GENERAUX D'UNE TELLE THEORIE, MAIS AUSSI SOULIGNER LES INCOMPLETUDES DE CETTE APPROCHE AINSI QUE L'ETROITESSE DE SA CONCEPTION DE L'EMOTION. EN DEPIT DE SES LACUNES, NOUS JUGEONS QUE L'EMOTIVISME A EU LE MERITE DE REINTRODUIRE LA DISCUSSION SUR LA FONCTION DE L'AFFECTIVITE EN MORALE. DANS SON ENSEMBLE NOS PROPOSITIONS VISENT TROIS BUTS : A) RECONSTITUER LE PARCOURS DE L'EMOTIVISME ET LES CRITIQUES QUI LUI SONT ADRESSEES; B) DEMONTRER, A PARTIR DE SA CONFRONTATION AVEC LES APPROCHES NATUURALISTES (DARWINISME SOCIAL, EVOLUTIONNISME, SOCIOBIOLOGIE) L'INCONSISTANCE DE SON PROGRAMME DE RECHERCHE : C) FINALMENT QUE LE RAPPORT "PATHOS-LOGOS" DOIT CONQUERIR LE DROIT DE CITE EN ETHIQUE. C'EST POURQUOI NOUS CHERCHONS A FONDER NOTRE THESE SELON LAQUELLE "SI LA MORALE SANS EMOTIONS EST VIDE; UNE MORALE EN COMPORTANT QUE L'EMOTION EST AVEUGLE".

This book was released on 2006-06-30 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During its century-long unfolding, spreading in numerous directions, Husserlian phenomenology while loosening inner articulations, has nevertheless maintained a somewhat consistent profile. As we see in this collection, the numerous conceptions and theories advanced in the various phases of reinterpretations have remained identifiable with phenomenology. What conveys this consistency in virtue of which innumerable types of inquiry-scientific, social, artistic, literary – may consider themselves phenomenological? Is it not the quintessence of the phenomenological quest, namely our seeking to reach the very foundations of reality at all its constitutive levels by pursuing its logos? Inquiring into the logos of the phenomenological quest we discover, indeed, all the main constitutive spheres of reality and of the human subject involved in it, and concurrently, the logos itself comes to light in the radiation of its force (Tymieniecka).

Book Synopsis Jean-Jacques Rousseau Et la Lecture by : Equipe Rousseau
Download or read book Jean-Jacques Rousseau Et la Lecture written by Equipe Rousseau and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Valeurs et normes by : Jean-Marc Ferry
Download or read book Valeurs et normes written by Jean-Marc Ferry and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Does the World Exist? by : Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka
Download or read book Does the World Exist? written by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 934 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Does the World exist?" There would be no reason to resurrect this question of modernity from its historical oblivion were it not for the fact that recent evolution in science and technology, impregnating culture, makes us wonder about the nature of reality, of the world we are living in, and of our status as living beings within it. Thus great metaphysical subjacent queries are forcefully revived, calling for new investigations to proceed in the light of the innumerable novel insights of science. This collection presents a wealth of material toward an elaboration of a new metaphysical groundwork of the ontopoiesis/ phenomenology of life sought to effect such investigations. The classic postulates of the metaphysics of reality, those of necessity and certainty here find a new formulation. Away from sclerotized ontological and cognitive assumptions and congenial with the views of contemporary science, the understanding of reality, of our world of life, and of ourselves within it is to be sought in the existential/ontopoietic ciphering of life (Tymieniecka).
Book Synopsis Feeling and Value, Willing and Action by : Marta Ubiali
Download or read book Feeling and Value, Willing and Action written by Marta Ubiali and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-01-13 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume explores the role and status of phenomena such as feelings, values, willing, and action in the domain of perception and (social) cognition, as well as the way in which they are related. In its exploration, the book takes Husserl’s lifelong project Studien zur Struktur des Bewusstseins (1909-1930) as its point of departure, and investigates these phenomena with Husserl but also beyond Husserl. Divided into two parts, the volume brings together essays that address the topics from different phenomenological, philosophical, and psychological perspectives. They discuss Husserl’s position in dialogue with historical and recent philosophical and psychological debates and develop phenomenological accounts and descriptions with the help of Geiger, Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Plessner, Sartre, Scheler, Schopenhauer, and Reinach.
Book Synopsis Ethics and Justice. Éthique et justice by : Peter Kemp
Download or read book Ethics and Justice. Éthique et justice written by Peter Kemp and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2017 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main theme of volume 6 of Eco-ethica is "Ethics and Justice" which focuses on the idea of "justice" in a metaphysical, social, and personal sense. Justice is considered as a balance between opposite ambitions in interdependent persons, and as equity in legislation, but not as blind justice. Today it is valuable not only on the national, but also on the cosmopolitan level. Before it became personal justice, the idea of justice was considered metaphysical and social, both in European and Chinese culture. However, in modern times, it is often reduced to a moral duty without meta-ethical responsibility. The last section considers the importance of the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005) for clarifying the idea of justice. (Series: Eco-Ethica, Vol. 6) [Subject: Philosophy, Ethics]

Book Synopsis Ethics of Hospitality by : Daniel Innerarity
Download or read book Ethics of Hospitality written by Daniel Innerarity and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-01-12 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The source of hospitality lies in the fundamental ethical experiences that make up the fabric of the social lives of people. Therein lies a primary form of humanity. Whether we are guests or hosts, this reveals our situation in a world made up of receiving and meeting, leaving room for the liberty to give and receive beyond the imperatives of reciprocity. This book proposes an ethic that promotes the possibility of stirring emotion before that of protecting ourselves from unexpected encounters. Fundamental ethical competence consists of opening up to the wholly other and to others, to be accessible to the world’s solicitations. There is moral superiority of vulnerable love over control and moderation, of generous passion over rational prudence and of excess over exchange. Constructing an ethic of hospitality is essential at a time when we are torn between the imperatives of modernization and growth and the demands of concern and protection. The experience we all have today, that of the fragility of the world, is giving rise to a powerful tendency toward solicitude. From such a perspective, the duty of individuals no longer consists of protecting themselves from society, but of defending it, taking care of a social fabric outside of which no identity can be formed.
Book Synopsis Ethics or Moral Philosophy by : Guttorm Fløistad
Download or read book Ethics or Moral Philosophy written by Guttorm Fløistad and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-11 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume examines a variety of philosophical approaches that seek to formulate practical guidelines or norms for human actions and behavior in different areas of society, including politics, cultural traditions, the environment, business management, architecture, and medicine. Written by a team of international authors, this volume features thirteen surveys. It begins with an exploration of ethics in politics and cultural traditions. From genocide to the unequal distribution of wealth, it examines many of the harms that currently affect societies throughout the world and considers a way that those in politics can follow to provide better care for all their populations. Next, the book looks at the relation between ethics and cultural traditions. It features a paper that examines the tension that often exists between the past and the present, with a special focus on the history of India. This volume also considers the idea of a universal system of ethics, presents a practical approach to value-based management in private and public organizations, and examines ethics in medicine. In addition, this volume includes coverage of a new type of ethics called Eco-ethica, proposed by the Japanese philosopher Tomonobu Imamichi, which seeks to answer the question of how men and women can “live better” or “live together with each other” in a systematized, technological age.

Book excerpt: Already more than sixty years Paul Ricoeur enriches the international philosophical patrimony with an astonishing number of highly technical books and enlightening reflections on actual problems and situations. To serve the community of researchers in philosophy I have already published two systematic bibliographies of (and on) Ricoeur in 1985 and 1995. Encouraged by friends and colleagues I present now another updated bibliography as exhaustive as possible.
