Book excerpt: Jims second book, Who Says So seeks to maintain the integrity of the Scripture for its readers. During his practice of ministry, many church members as well as those outside the church frequently asked questions about the inspiration and authority of scripture. Many have indicated that they have heard ministers, especially those on television, declare that God is the author of the Bible and has conveyed every word penned by its many writers. That is the basis of their understanding of inspiration; therefore, the Bible must have absolute authority communicating what to believe and how to live or put into practice ones belief. In todays electronic mindset it would be like God using a smart phone and texting messages to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to write concerning the teachings and practices of Jesus. In his practice of ministry Jim has helped church members and others see another perspective of inspiration and authority. In the quest to see that perspective he suggests read the scripture and let it speak for itself in reaching possible conclusions about inspiration and authority. When we allow the Bible to speak for itself in the context of the history of its development, we realize that the inspiring Spirit of God first touches the lives of its many authors and those bodies of believers who studied hundreds of manuscripts and finally favored 39 texts for the creation of the Old Testament and 27 texts for the New Testament. The spiritual presence of God also touches millions and millions of human beings as they read scripture or listen to a spoken message. In Jims book the focus of inspiration is not on the words of scripture but on the inspired storytellers central message. Also, there are many variances and some errors in many of the stories within the Bible. A storyteller is not dependent upon literary perfection to be inspired. If this were the case, we would not have the Bible today, so let the Bible speak for itself and be inspired and empowered by the spiritual presence of God and understand its message.

And the love and care he has for us.the book also tells somthings i've been through as a mother and grandmother, and much more.in my neighborhood i watch a lot of siners fall short of God untill i understand they need the help of God. I've watched families fall short because they did not have the love of God. It tells how people can hurt somone that is so close to you.And how people can do you wrong without careing how you feel or how any one else feel. So this book is mostly telling people to open up their hearts for God cause without him we can't do anything unless we trust in him.And he will never let us down. The book tells us he's a good and mercyful God. He will always be there for us and how he gave his life for us and some of us still do not belive in him and his wonderful work he do for useven as a siner so if we keep the trust he will see us through.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is the Bible the unembellished Word of God or the product of human agency? There are different answers to that question. And they lie at the heart of this book's powerful exploration of the fraught ways in which money, race and power shape the story of Christianity in American public life. The authors' subject is the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC: arguably the latest example of a long line of white evangelical institutions aiming to amplify and promote a religious, political, and moral agenda of their own. In their careful and compelling investigation, Jill Hicks-Keeton and Cavan Concannon disclose the ways in which the Museum's exhibits reinforce a particularized and partial interpretation of the Bible's meaning. Bringing to light the Museum's implicit messaging about scriptural provenance and audience, the authors reveal how the MOTB produces a version of the Bible that in essence authorizes a certain sort of white evangelical privilege; promotes a view of history aligned with that same evangelical aspiration; and above all protects a cohort of white evangelicals from critique. They show too how the Museum collapses vital conceptual distinctions between its own conservative vision of the Bible and 'The Bible' as a cultural icon. This revelatory volume above all confirms that scripture – for all the claims made for it that it speaks only divine truth – can in the end never be separated from human politics.

Book excerpt: The Bible, the most published, sold, given away, personally owned, outlawed, read, neglected, loved, hated, praised, despised, book ever to have existed. Esteemed as the very words of God, renounced as merely the work of men, cherished as truth, scorned as fable. The studies in this volume are written to let the Bible speak for itself to clear away all the contradictions and debates. It is a book written for the common man conveying the unleavened common faith. This book explains what each of us must bring to the study of God's word if we desire that it open itself to us. Further, it demonstrates how and why the Scriptures are written the way they are. The Bible contains all that God has done, is doing, and will do."Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7The greatest indignity perpetrated against our Creator is not to seek to know and understand Him. Join me on a guided tour of God's word.
