La problématique est de savoir, si la pratique d’une activité physique et sportive est un levier à l’intégration sociale des personnes en situation de handicap. Que le sport soit fait en loisir ou en compétition. Pour cela, de nombreux acteurs mettent en place des projets ainsi que des actions pour permettre au mieux l’intégration sociale des handicapées par le biais du sport. II est dit que bien souvent, la pratique sportive pour une personne en situation de handicap est un facteur d’intégration sociale. Au sein de ce mémoire, il s’agit de voir comment le sport est créateur de lien social, les actions et les moyens mis en place pour développer le sport pour les personnes handicapées mais qu’il peut encore aujourd’hui exister quelques limites. Pour mieux construire cette analyse, deux questionnaires ont été rédigé, l’un ayant été rempli par des personnes valides et le second par des personnes en situation de handicap. Ils ont permis de mieux analyser le regard que peut avoir les différentes personnes sur le sujet du handicap, de l’intégration sociale et du sport. Ce thème est de nos jours mis à la lumière, notamment due à l’évolution des mentalités et de la société. Des lois, entre autre celle de 2005, mais aussi des lois plus anciennes comme celle de 1975, ainsi que dans le domaine législatif du sport, font référence au handicap et à la pratique de l’activité sportive par les personnes en situation de handicap. Le sport est bel et bien un facteur d’intégration sociale pour tout le monde y compris chez les personnes en situation de handicap.
