Book excerpt: In combating global warming and other environmental issues over the use of fossil fuels, extensive research has been focusing on developing hydrogen production from biological processes. Biohydrogen is considered a promising future biofuel because of its intrinsic clean and high-energy content properties and the way it is produced. In addition to being produced through environmentally friendly biological means, its conversion to energy yields only pure water, which is an ideal energy carrier in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion. Unlike other well-developed biofuels such as bioethanol and biodiesel, biohydrogen production is still in the early stage of development. A variety of technologies are being developed for biohydrogen production. This chapter presents a review of the state-of-the-art and perspectives of bioprocess design for biohydrogen production research in the context of pathways, microorganisms, metabolic flux analysis, process design, and reactor system. Challenges and prospects of biohydrogen production are also outlined.

Book excerpt: An anthropological examination of the way that sexual and gender identities were constructed and reconstructed in Britain in response to the AIDS crisis of the early 1990s. While, at the individual level, AIDS is experienced as illness, the author argues for an analysis of AIDS that operates at the level of the social, affecting not only the ill but all of those around them. Individual and group changes in self-identification and resistance to outsider definitions are explored and the social treatment of AIDS is compared to other chronic illnesses. Download or read book Lever's Histopathology of the Skin written by David E. Elder and published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. This book was released on 2009 with total page 1279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lever's Histopathology of the Skin is a classic, comprehensive work that has been used by generations of dermatopathologists, pathologists, and dermatologists to further their knowledge, in their current practices, and in the training of their students. The pathophysiologic organization is based on Walter Lever's original scheme, with appropriate modifications over the years, and is more efficient than the pattern method, since related entities are discussed in juxtaposition. This edition contains over 1,400 full-color illustrations, including photomicrographs and clinical photographs of diseases not covered in previous editions. The chapter on algorithmic pattern recognition has been expanded and extensively cross-referenced to the chapters on diseases to aid readers in generating differential diagnoses for unknown cases. A companion Website will offer the fully searchable text and an image bank.

Remis and published by Centre d'études sur le sida, Hôpital général de Montréal. This book was released on 1991 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Fort-Dimanche, Fort-La-Mort by : Patrick Lemoine
Download or read book Fort-Dimanche, Fort-La-Mort written by Patrick Lemoine and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-05-03 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
