Esistono diversi metodi per verificare la resistenza di una struttura iperstatica. Il metodo più comune è il metodo degli stati limite, che prevede l'analisi della struttura sotto l'azione di diversi scenari di carico. Il metodo degli stati limite determina i valori di carico che la struttura può sopportare senza superare i limiti di resistenza dei materiali che la compongono. Le verifiche di resistenza garantiscono che le strutture siano in grado di sopportare i carichi a cui saranno sottoposte durante il loro ciclo di vita e che siano quindi sicure e durevoli.
