Et la question qu’on aimerait poser directement à Dieu est celle-ci : « Mais Seigneur, qu’est ce qui nous faut-il finalement pour rentrer dans le mariage et y vivre heureux exactement ? » Si nous avons notre liste de critères bien préparée pour identifier la personne qu’il nous faut, notre Père Céleste a la sienne lui-aussi; Et elle n’est pas très longue…(rires) Dans cet ouvrage, je partage cette révélation sur L’INDICE PRINCIPAL que Dieu recherche en nous lorsqu’Il scanne nos cœurs et nos attitudes pour nous faire rentrer dans la grâce du mariage. Et Dieu s’adresse ici à ceux de ses enfants qui ont rejeté le modèle de mariage du monde, et qui désirent le meilleur absolu de Dieu. Le Célibat est une Saison très stratégique pour le chrétien ! C’est cette saison que Dieu veut te voir maximiser ta croissance spirituelle et le développement des fruits de l’Esprit. C’est le temps où tu dois travailler d’arrache-pied pour te défaire de toutes ces maladies de l’âme (l'orgueil, l'impolitesse, l'égoïsme, la paresse, l’hypocrisie, le refus de rendre service quand on en a la capacité, fuir la communion fraternelle…) pour acquérir les valeurs contraires. Et servir dans ta communauté te rendra disponible pour être aiguisé(e) et poli(e) à cet effet. LA NOTION DE FRÈRE ET SŒUR DOIT ÊTRE CENTRALE DANS LA PENSÉE DE DEUX PERSONNES QUI S’AIMENT DANS LE SEIGNEUR. Dieu observe donc à la loupe nos interactions avec d’autres chrétiens. Il est bon de garder constamment à l’esprit qu’avant d’être mari et femme, nous sommes le gardien de l’âme de notre conjoint. Dieu nous considère d’abord frère et sœur dans le Seigneur, le but ultime étant que tous les deux, nous rentrions au Ciel et aux noces de l’Agneau. Telle est la lecture du cœur de Dieu sur ce qu’Il recherche chez ses fils et filles pour les qualifier au mariage divin.

Tu es enfant de Dieu…et Dieu a placé en toi ce désir de te marier, mais comment reconnaitre que, il ou elle est la personne de choix pour ma destinée? Cette personne avec qui je m’entretiens depuis quelques temps…est-elle celle/celui qui est censé (e) être à mes côtés dans le reste de mon voyage sur Terre ? Tout commence par la perception que nous avons de l’institution du mariage. Il y a ceux qui sont dans une quête égoïste du bonheur et considèrent le mariage comme le moyen d’y arriver. Et il y a ceux qui ont compris par la sagesse de Dieu que, le mariage tel que notre Seigneur le perçoit est en réalité une mission d'influence dans laquelle deux personnes s’engagent pour accomplir les desseins de Dieu pour leurs vies. Si les êtres humains se marient chaque jour, les fils et filles de Dieu eux, se marient pour une cause plus pesante et sérieuse. Et c'est alors que se marier et être marié à toute son importance. J’ai fini par comprendre que si Dieu est l’auteur du Mariage, lui-seul peut nous aider à y rentrer convenablement et à y demeurer. Exclure sa Parole et son guide à quelque étape de ce voyage est déjà une erreur fatale. Dieu est notre Père Céleste, et il n’a aucun intérêt à nous laisser dans la confusion pour cette décision charnière dans nos vies lorsque nous obéissons sa voix et désirons faire Sa volonté en premier. Les clés contenues dans cet ouvrage te donneront plus de clarté et t’outilleront davantage. Et comme j’aime si bien le dire, lorsqu’il s’agit du choix du conjoint selon Dieu, tout ce qui est casse-tête chinois n’est pas de Dieu.

From Artemis Eulochia to al-Lat, al-'Uzza and Manat, from Melqart to "my rock" in the biblical book of Psalms, this volume journeys between the sanctuary on Mount Gerizim and late antique magical practices, revisiting rituals, hymnic poetry, oaths of orators and philosophical prayers. Popkin in Marsh's Library on July 7-8, 1994. It was one of the most stimulating events held in the Library in recent years. Although we have hosted many special seminars on such subjects as rare books, the Huguenots, and Irish church history, this was the first time that a seminar was held which was specifically related to the books in our own collection. It seems surprising that this type of seminar has never been held before although the reason is obvious. Since there is no printed catalogue of the Library scholars are not aware of its contents. In fact the collection of books by late seventeenth and early eighteenth century European authors on, for example, such subjects as biblical criticism, political and religious controversy, is one of the richest parts of the Library's collections. Some years ago we were informed that of the 25,000 books in Marsh's at least 5,000 English books or books printed in England were printed between 1640 and 1700.
