Book Synopsis Lattice Hadron Physics by : Alex Kalloniatis
Download or read book Lattice Hadron Physics written by Alex Kalloniatis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-05-20 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lattice Hadron Physics draws upon the developments made in recent years in implementing chirality on the lattice via the overlap formalism. These developments exploit chiral effective field theory in order to extrapolate lattice results to physical quark masses, new forms of improving operators to remove lattice artefacts, analytical studies of finite-volume effects in hadronic observables, and state-of-the-art lattice calculations of excited resonances. This volume, comprised of selected lectures, is designed to assist those outside the field who want quickly to become literate in these topics. As such, it provides graduate students and experienced researchers in other areas of hadronic physics with the background through which they can appreciate, if not become active in, contemporary lattice-gauge theory and its applications to hadronic phenomena.
Book Synopsis Complexity of Lattice Problems by : Daniele Micciancio

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lattices are geometric objects that can be pictorially described as the set of intersection points of an infinite, regular n-dimensional grid. De spite their apparent simplicity, lattices hide a rich combinatorial struc ture, which has attracted the attention of great mathematicians over the last two centuries. Not surprisingly, lattices have found numerous ap plications in mathematics and computer science, ranging from number theory and Diophantine approximation, to combinatorial optimization and cryptography. The study of lattices, specifically from a computational point of view, was marked by two major breakthroughs: the development of the LLL lattice reduction algorithm by Lenstra, Lenstra and Lovasz in the early 80's, and Ajtai's discovery of a connection between the worst-case and average-case hardness of certain lattice problems in the late 90's. The LLL algorithm, despite the relatively poor quality of the solution it gives in the worst case, allowed to devise polynomial time solutions to many classical problems in computer science. These include, solving integer programs in a fixed number of variables, factoring polynomials over the rationals, breaking knapsack based cryptosystems, and finding solutions to many other Diophantine and cryptanalysis problems.

Book Synopsis Lattice Functions and Equations by : Sergiu Rudeanu
Download or read book Lattice Functions and Equations written by Sergiu Rudeanu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-07-30 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the chief aims of this self-contained monograph is to survey recent developments of Boolean functions and equations, as well as lattice functions and equations in more general classes of lattices. Lattice (Boolean) functions are algebraic functions defined over an arbitrary lattice (Boolean algebra), while lattice (Boolean) equations are equations expressed in terms of lattice (Boolean) functions. Special attention is also paid to consistency conditions and reproductive general solutions. Applications refer to graph theory, automata theory, synthesis of circuits, fault detection, databases, marketing and others. Lattice Functions and Equations updates and extends the author's previous monograph - Boolean Functions and Equations.

Download or read book Lattice-Valued Logic written by Yang Xu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2012-11-02 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lattice-valued Logic aims at establishing the logical foundation for uncertain information processing routinely performed by humans and artificial intelligence systems. In this textbook for the first time a general introduction on lattice-valued logic is given. It systematically summarizes research from the basic notions up to recent results on lattice implication algebras, lattice-valued logic systems based on lattice implication algebras, as well as the corresponding reasoning theories and methods. The book provides the suitable theoretical logical background of lattice-valued logic systems and supports newly designed intelligent uncertain-information-processing systems and a wide spectrum of intelligent learning tasks.

Book excerpt: This book contains thirty-six short papers on recent progress in a variety of subjects in mathematical and theoretical physics, written for the proceedings of a symposium in honor of the seventieth birthday of Professor F Y Wu, held at the Nankai Institute of Mathematics, October 7-11, 2001. The collection of papers is aimed at researchers, including graduate students, with an interdisciplinary interest and gives a brief introduction to many of the topics of current interest. These include new results on exactly solvable models in statistical mechanics, integrable through the Yang-Baxter equations, quantum groups, fractional statistics, random matrices, index theorems on the lattice, combinatorics, and other related topics.
Book Synopsis Lattice Theory: Special Topics and Applications by : George Grätzer
Download or read book Lattice Theory: Special Topics and Applications written by George Grätzer and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2016-10-08 with total page 625 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: George Grätzer's Lattice Theory: Foundation is his third book on lattice theory (General Lattice Theory, 1978, second edition, 1998). In 2009, Grätzer considered updating the second edition to reflect some exciting and deep developments. He soon realized that to lay the foundation, to survey the contemporary field, to pose research problems, would require more than one volume and more than one person. So Lattice Theory: Foundation provided the foundation. Now we complete this project with Lattice Theory: Special Topics and Applications, in two volumes, written by a distinguished group of experts, to cover some of the vast areas not in Foundation. This second volume is divided into ten chapters contributed by K. Adaricheva, N. Caspard, R. Freese, P. Jipsen, J.B. Nation, N. Reading, H. Rose, L. Santocanale, and F. Wehrung.

Download or read book Lattice-Based Cryptosystems written by Jiang Zhang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-14 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on lattice-based cryptosystems, widely considered to be one of the most promising post-quantum cryptosystems and provides fundamental insights into how to construct provably secure cryptosystems from hard lattice problems. The concept of provable security is used to inform the choice of lattice tool for designing cryptosystems, including public-key encryption, identity-based encryption, attribute-based encryption, key change and digital signatures. Given its depth of coverage, the book especially appeals to graduate students and young researchers who plan to enter this research area.
