Book excerpt: "The objective of the program is to gather information on the soil and ground conditions at potential borrow sites and to provide a location for a potential geotechnical camp site. The information obtained from the program will be used to assess the engineering and construction feasibility of a proposed pipeline in the Mackenzie Valley and for preparing subsequent regulatory applications. Activities proposed will consist of work at three sites, including two potential borrow sites, and one of two potential geotechnical camp site locations. The application refers to both geotechnical camp site options. The proposed work would begin in early January 2007, following receipt of all regulatory authorizations. Program activities are planned to continue through mid-April 2007 and be concluded by spring break-up. The proposed field work will be carried out by subcontractors of Imperial.
