Download or read book À la maternelle written by Denise Chauvel and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Ethics and Sport in Europe by : Dominique Bodin
Download or read book Ethics and Sport in Europe written by Dominique Bodin and published by Council of Europe. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Defending ethics in sport is vital in order to combat the problems of corruption, violence, drugs, extremism and other forms of discrimination it is currently facing. Sport reflects nothing more and nothing less than the societies in which it takes place. However, if sport is to continue to bring benefits for individuals and societies, it cannot afford to neglect its ethical values or ignore these scourges. The major role of the Council of Europe and the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in addressing the new challenges to sports ethics was confirmed by the 11th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport, held in Athens on 11 and 12 December 2008. A political impetus was given on 16 June 2010 by the Committee of Ministers, with the adoption of an updated version of the Code of Sports Ethics (Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)9), emphasising the requisite co-ordination between governments and sports organisations. The EPAS prepared the ministerial conference and stepped up its work in an international conference organised with the University of Rennes, which was attended by political leaders, athletes, researchers and officials from the voluntary sector. The key experiences described in the conference and the thoughts that it prompted are described in this publication. All the writers share the concern that the end result should be practical action - particularly in terms of the setting of standards - that falls within the remit of the EPAS and promotes the Council of Europe's core values.

Book Synopsis Playful Learning and Teaching by : Judith E. Kieff
Download or read book Playful Learning and Teaching written by Judith E. Kieff and published by Allyn & Bacon. This book was released on 2000 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Playful Learning, Playful Teaching presents a practical application of theory in preschool, kindergarten, and primary grade programs describing play in the total context of the entire early childhood curriculum. Using a constructivist, developmental approach, the book examines the role of play in the classroom and discusses how children learn through the process of active, social construction of information. The spiral organization helps readers build knowledge with each chapter. Concepts are introduced in early chapters, then revisited for elaboration and refinement throughout the book. It also analyzes the role of the teacher and explores many cultural and special needs issues in early education. Supportive discussions help new teachers prepare to address the frustrations they may face as they try to create playful programs in school systems that obstruct attempts to move beyond traditional teaching. Readers are presented with the latest perspectives regarding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) which are tied into suggestions for teaching and advocating for children. The insights and practical suggestions in this book will help empower young teachers to take a strong stance regarding teachers' need to advocate for children's right to play. For anyone interested in early childhood education.

Book Synopsis Signs of Autism in Infants by : Stella Acquarone
Download or read book Signs of Autism in Infants written by Stella Acquarone and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-03-26 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a group, babies later diagnosed as autistic are found to have more complications during gestation and delivery than their normal siblings and others. In addition to all these complications, infants later diagnosed on the autistic spectrum have a two-fold rate of residence in neonatal intensive care units. Over the past 50 years, ever younger previously non-viable very low weight babies are being kept alive, some born as much as four months before term. However, it is becoming apparent that miraculous procedures to counteract organ immaturity and prolonged incubation contribute to a new gamut of hitherto unknown forms of neurological damage. With pregnancy curtailed, prematurely separated mothers and their babies both experience a prolonged state of limbo, with the fragile infant being exposed to excruciating medical interventions and overwhelming stimulation. International researchers and clinicians renowned for their work in the field of early autism come together to resolve queries around the long debate on the development and resolution of autism.
