Una seconda parte del testo invece offre un'ampia panoramica su tutte le principali tecniche di conservazione, sia quelle tradizionali che quelle più innovative, in particolare le cosiddette mild technologies che si stanno affacciando prepotentemente nel settore.Questo libro nasce per raccontare l'evoluzione del concetto di magazzino all'interno di quella che ormai viene definita "Industry 4.0", proponendosi come testo propedeutico al corso di "Tecnico superiore per l'infomobilità e le infrastrutture logistiche - Utilizzare tecniche di logistica e supply chain management" organizzato dall'ENAIP-FVG nella sede di Trieste. Con il tempo, grazie anche alle domande, alle esperienze ed al continuo confronto interessato dei partecipanti al corso, il contenuto si è arricchito, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l'evoluzione dei sistemi di gestione integrata dell'azienda come gli ERP, l'automazione del magazzino e tutto quello che riguarda il mondo logistico collegato alla cosidetta "Industria 4.0". I ragazzi che hanno frequentato il corso hanno poi approfondito una tematica che è salita alle luci della ribalta grazie ai recenti avvenimenti legati alla crisi del Corona-Virus, cioè l'applicazione di sistemi innovativi di conservazione dei prodotti, dedicandosi in particolare a quello che viene definito "ciclo del freddo della logistica".
