Con questa dichiarazione solo apparentemente tautologica, a metà tra il monito e la constatazione, il Direttore Generale della FAO, Qu Dongyu, ha inaugurato la Tavola rotonda virtuale destinata a celebrare la quarta Giornata mondiale della sicurezza alimentare (7 giugno 2022), il cui slogan – “Safer food, better health” – rinvia icasticamente ad una ormai consolidata strategia globale, che vede nel cibo e più complessivamente nell’alimentazione umana il principale vettore di tutela della salute umana . Un valore, questo, che in un contesto di ormai consolidata globalizzazione, non conosce confini. L’iniziativa dell’Agenzia delle Nazioni Unite – che si celebra dal 2019 – sancisce, dunque, la centralità e persino l’ineludibilità di un tema che, a partire dagli ultimi anni del secolo scorso, specie nell’ambito dell’Unione europea, segnata da plurime e gravissime emergenze, è già stato fatto oggetto di frequenti e significativi interventi normativi, seguiti da campagne di indagine demoscopica e di successiva sensibilizzazione, anche in via mediatica, dell’opinione pubblica. Un tema che, per i suoi inevitabili riflessi transfrontalieri, acquista un carattere innegabilmente globale, di cui è ormai consapevole anche il proverbiale quivis de populo.

Belardi is no Luddite; he doesn't urge architects to give up digital devices for watercolors and a measuring tape. Rather, he makes a case for drawing as the interface between the idea and the work itself. A drawing, Belardi argues, holds within it the entire final design. It is the paradox of the acorn: a project emerges from a drawing—even from a sketch, rough and inchoate—just as an oak tree emerges from an acorn.
