Après avoir occupé des fonctions de stratégie et opérationnelles au sein de grands groupes, Frédéric Besset est devenu maire et vice-président d’une communauté de communes. Durant son mandat, il s’est particulièrement engagé dans l’amélioration de la culture du risque majeur de sa commune en associant les partenaires privés et le grand public. Il fut distingué en 2014 par la médaille de la Sécurité Intérieure. Consultant en risques majeurs, il accompagne les collectivités locales et les élus dans leur démarche. Membre du réseau de formateurs de l’IFFO-RME (Institut Français des Formateurs Risques Majeurs et protection de l’Environnement), il est également intervenant à l’Université Paris Nanterre et à l’Institut Léonard de Vinci. Frédéric Besset est l’auteur de l’ouvrage « Être maire, le plus beau des mandats » (Victoires Editions, 2013).
