Book Synopsis Korovkin-type Approximation Theory and Its Applications by : Francesco Altomare
Download or read book Korovkin-type Approximation Theory and Its Applications written by Francesco Altomare and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2011-07-21 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series is devoted to the publication of monographs and high-level textbooks in mathematics, mathematical methods and their applications. Apart from covering important areas of current interest, a major aim is to make topics of an interdisciplinary nature accessible to the non-specialist. The works in this series are addressed to advanced students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics. In addition, it can serve as a guide for lectures and seminars on a graduate level. The series de Gruyter Studies in Mathematics was founded ca. 30 years ago by the late Professor Heinz Bauer and Professor Peter Gabriel with the aim to establish a series of monographs and textbooks of high standard, written by scholars with an international reputation presenting current fields of research in pure and applied mathematics. While the editorial board of the Studies has changed with the years, the aspirations of the Studies are unchanged. In times of rapid growth of mathematical knowledge carefully written monographs and textbooks written by experts are needed more than ever, not least to pave the way for the next generation of mathematicians. In this sense the editorial board and the publisher of the Studies are devoted to continue the Studies as a service to the mathematical community. Please submit any book proposals to Niels Jacob.

Book Synopsis Towards Intelligent Modeling: Statistical Approximation Theory by : George A. Anastassiou
Download or read book Towards Intelligent Modeling: Statistical Approximation Theory written by George A. Anastassiou and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-06 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main idea of statistical convergence is to demand convergence only for a majority of elements of a sequence. This method of convergence has been investigated in many fundamental areas of mathematics such as: measure theory, approximation theory, fuzzy logic theory, summability theory, and so on. In this monograph we consider this concept in approximating a function by linear operators, especially when the classical limit fails. The results of this book not only cover the classical and statistical approximation theory, but also are applied in the fuzzy logic via the fuzzy-valued operators. The authors in particular treat the important Korovkin approximation theory of positive linear operators in statistical and fuzzy sense. They also present various statistical approximation theorems for some specific real and complex-valued linear operators that are not positive. This is the first monograph in Statistical Approximation Theory and Fuzziness. The chapters are self-contained and several advanced courses can be taught. The research findings will be useful in various applications including applied and computational mathematics, stochastics, engineering, artificial intelligence, vision and machine learning. This monograph is directed to graduate students, researchers, practitioners and professors of all disciplines.

Book Synopsis Advances in Summability and Approximation Theory by : S. A. Mohiuddine
Download or read book Advances in Summability and Approximation Theory written by S. A. Mohiuddine and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-12-30 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the Tauberian conditions under which convergence follows from statistical summability, various linear positive operators, Urysohn-type nonlinear Bernstein operators and also presents the use of Banach sequence spaces in the theory of infinite systems of differential equations. It also includes the generalization of linear positive operators in post-quantum calculus, which is one of the currently active areas of research in approximation theory. Presenting original papers by internationally recognized authors, the book is of interest to a wide range of mathematicians whose research areas include summability and approximation theory. One of the most active areas of research in summability theory is the concept of statistical convergence, which is a generalization of the familiar and widely investigated concept of convergence of real and complex sequences, and it has been used in Fourier analysis, probability theory, approximation theory and in other branches of mathematics. The theory of approximation deals with how functions can best be approximated with simpler functions. In the study of approximation of functions by linear positive operators, Bernstein polynomials play a highly significant role due to their simple and useful structure. And, during the last few decades, different types of research have been dedicated to improving the rate of convergence and decreasing the error of approximation.
Book Synopsis Integral Transformations, Operational Calculus and Their Applications by : Hari Mohan Srivastava
Download or read book Integral Transformations, Operational Calculus and Their Applications written by Hari Mohan Srivastava and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2021-01-20 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume consists of a collection of 14 accepted submissions (including several invited feature articles) to the Special Issue of MDPI's journal Symmetry on the general subject area of integral transformations, operational calculus and their applications from many different parts around the world. The main objective of the Special Issue was to gather review, expository, and original research articles dealing with the state-of-the-art advances in integral transformations and operational calculus as well as their multidisciplinary applications, together with some relevance to the aspect of symmetry. Various families of fractional-order integrals and derivatives have been found to be remarkably important and fruitful, mainly due to their demonstrated applications in numerous diverse and widespread areas of mathematical, physical, chemical, engineering, and statistical sciences. Many of these fractional-order operators provide potentially useful tools for solving ordinary and partial differential equations, as well as integral, differintegral, and integro-differential equations; fractional-calculus analogues and extensions of each of these equations; and various other problems involving special functions of mathematical physics and applied mathematics, as well as their extensions and generalizations in one or more variables.

Book Synopsis Convergence Methods for Double Sequences and Applications by : M. Mursaleen
Download or read book Convergence Methods for Double Sequences and Applications written by M. Mursaleen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-10-17 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book exclusively deals with the study of almost convergence and statistical convergence of double sequences. The notion of “almost convergence” is perhaps the most useful notion in order to obtain a weak limit of a bounded non-convergent sequence. There is another notion of convergence known as the “statistical convergence”, introduced by H. Fast, which is an extension of the usual concept of sequential limits. This concept arises as an example of “convergence in density” which is also studied as a summability method. Even unbounded sequences can be dealt with by using this method. The book also discusses the applications of these non-matrix methods in approximation theory. Written in a self-contained style, the book discusses in detail the methods of almost convergence and statistical convergence for double sequences along with applications and suitable examples. The last chapter is devoted to the study convergence of double series and describes various convergence tests analogous to those of single sequences. In addition to applications in approximation theory, the results are expected to find application in many other areas of pure and applied mathematics such as mathematical analysis, probability, fixed point theory and statistics.
