Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge and the Coming Kingdom is a study of the meal prayers of Didache 9-10. The opening chapters pursue a sustained argument regarding the relationship between the Didache's meal ritual and the well-known tradition of Jesus' final meal. The central goal of this argument is to clarify that the silence of the Didache's prayers regarding Jesus' sacrificial death is neither trivial nor the result of textual accident, but is instead tied up with how this ritual works as a ritual. Schwiebert aims to counter a weighty tradition of reading the Didache's testimony in light of the New Testament accounts, and so to free the tradition to become an analytical reference point for a consideration of Christian origins. En route to this goal, ritual theory serves as an ally that offers insights into the workings of a uniquely attested ritual. Having isolated the Didache's tradition in this way, he then examines its original milieu, arguing for a branch of the Jesus movement that held to Jesus' teachings as a privileged form of knowledge even while they affirmed the futurity of God's kingdom and their own (eschatological) existence. From this point, he reassesses the various potential parallels to the Didache's prayers, and their degree of sympathy with this ritual form, to reconstruct a trajectory of the ritual's influence in early Christianity. The clues are traced to Egypt, where (as elsewhere) they finally lead to the loss of this ritual form, often for identifiable reasons.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Mission is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate.' John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EXPLORING THE PRINCIPLES OF KNOWLEGDE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS SET YOU FREE! And you must also recognize all the lies you have ever been told. In John 10:8 Jesus said. "All who have come before me are thieves and robbers." This presupposes that those who came before Christ came with false knowledge misleading people from the truth and into bondage. This is why we must now make every effort to gain knowledge. Life's challenges and the need for deliverance took me to the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries where I met my mentor and Pastor, Anthony Akerele. I then came to understand that the level of all the problems in the life of an individual is directly proportionate to the level of his/her ignorance. I also figured out this equation; Knowledge+worship =Deliverance. My effort to learn and gain knowledge made me attend almost all services. In the mountain of fire and miracle ministries every service takes the form of a learning academy. The concept here at mountain of fire and miracle ministries is to build up men to become priests; who will understand worship as a lifestyle and deliverance as a process but not an event. Exodus 19:6 "But you will be a kingdom of priests to serve me. You will be my holy nation.' That is what you must tell the Israelites. Basically, God's idea is to turn all men into priests, and if all men are to become priests, knowledge remains an indispensable requirement to stand in that priestly position for God. Hosea 4:6 reads: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me, seeing that hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." God's agenda as presented here is a big issue and what I have come to understand is, GOD TRANSACTS SPIRITUAL BUSINESS ONLY WITH HIS PRIESTS, AND DEALS WITH COMMON MAN ONLY ON THE GROUND OF MERCY. It is for such a reason that we must make conscious efforts to acquire knowledge to be in a priestly position. Being a Priest for God would signify an access to the secret things of God. We must also understand that, God made man differently from angels in that man is able to learn, acquire knowledge and grow in time and space. Knowledge acquisition is part of our growth curve. Man lost many benefits after the unfortunate transaction in the Garden of Eden namely, the Holy Spirit, the Divine Presence and the art of prayer. But God has given a new opportunity to man, which behooves on him now to learn how to hold tight onto this opportunity to get right with God. Getting right with God suggests; Praying the right way as prayer is the proper channel of Godly communication A proper relationship with the Holy Spirit which has been restored to man after he lost Him Adopting the right approach to true and proper worship once we have another opportunity to get back into God's presence. True worship of the true God can only be done by appropriate knowledge. Paul grieved so much for the generation of Jews in his time because they wanted to serve God, but were doing it the wrong way. Worshipping God with knowledge is the HOV approach to getting the fastest acquaintance with God. When God is looking down at men, all he wants to see are priests with the knowledge to approach and worship. Romans 15:14 "Personally, I am completely satisfied with you my brethren, you are well motivated and well instructed and quite capable of guiding and admonishing one another." My motivation to put this material together comes from this Bible text to help others acquire knowledge and pray right!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrine of the kingdom of God is the heart of the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus. He introduced it, emphasized it, preached and taught it, lived it and demonstrated it for all to see. He commissioned His disciples to go and preach the gospel of the kingdom. Yet the right understanding of the kingdom initially eluded the disciples. While Jesus was talking about the kingdom, the disciples were asking questions about political power. The same dilemma we see largely in the church of today. Too many church leaders are doing ministry without proper knowledge of the kingdom of God and they only understand it in the context of political power. The message and gospel of the kingdom is very scarce in our pulpits today. The more reason the church is floundering and true disciples are hard to come by in our society. Until every believer and church leader is soundly knowledgeable about the kingdom, many things will keep on going wrong in our lives and the church will become a laughing stock in our world. It is this knowledge that the author, Dr. Francis Bola Akin-John aims to disseminate to the body of Christ in this book. We must know that the kingdom has come and is still coming. Our heart cry everyday must be, LORD, let your kingdom come into our hearts, communities, nations and churches.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Against a background of the strife-torn land of Judea two thousand years ago, Mika Waltari has written what is certainly his most important novel. Seeking the meaning to his life in the study of philosophy, the young Roman. Marcus Manilianus, discovers in an Alexandrian library a vast number of predictions, all tending to confirm his own feeling that the world is about to enter upon a new era. Two chance encounters with Jews who proclaim the coming of a world leader whom they call the Messiah or King, cause Marcus to resolve to make a visit to the Holy City of the Jews. He arrives outside Jerusalem in time to see crowds—some curious, some shocked—staring up at three crosses on a nearby mound. Above the center cross, an inscription had been fixed: JESUS OF NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS. The quest that ensues leads Marcus through all parts of Jerusalem and into contact with men and women of all stations of life who had known this remarkable man. And by degrees, wonderful if strange things are revealed to him of Jesus’ teaching, and he experiences the odd sensation of almost believing in the destiny of this crucified Roman among the alien Jews, Stands alone on the borderline of two worlds, feelings he belongs to neither, and it becomes vital to him to find “the way, “the Kingdom,” to again knowledge and certainty, not merely belief. What follows, as Marcus pursues his search for the promised secret of the Kingdom, bring to a climax as exciting and deeply moving a novel as Mika Waltari, certainly one of the world’s outstanding historical novelists, has ever written. It is a story of a time long past, yet it deals with a theme as modern as today: the dilemma of modern man and his culture in gaining and retaining a faith. And always present throughout the novel is the splendor, the irony and humor which have so delighted millions of readers of other Waltari novels from The Egyptian to The Etruscan.

Here’s the Title Deed to the Earth was written to give understanding to the humble so they will hear, and give sight to the blind so they will see. The enemies of the church include false doctrine (Psalm 31:6), and false “prophets” (Revelations 17:8). These false prophets lead millions to lose their souls to Satan by preaching captivating lies to the blind, who cannot see the truth. Those that regard lying vanities (man’s image of Jesus, the mark of the beast), manufacture in their own minds Revelations 17:8 from scripture. They call him “Jesus” in their vain imagination, becoming a doctrine of men and devils using scripture to support a theory. Many people want God to conform to their image of Him; however, we don't make the standard, we only come to it. In many religions, followers are obedient to church leaders who put in them at odds with the one true God (Romans 8:29). You must be born again to see the kingdom, because it’s on Earth! This is the abomination that makes the desolate idol worship. By nature you are blessed, and by nature you are cursed. In Adam all die, In Christ all are made alive. Whose image is in you?
