Book Synopsis Uri Geller's Crystal Pendulum Dowsing Kit by : Uri Geller
Download or read book Uri Geller's Crystal Pendulum Dowsing Kit written by Uri Geller and published by Watkins Publishing. This book was released on 2006 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone can dowse. Like language, it's an innate ability that reveals itself as we learn. Conscious thought is merely a tiny percentage of what our brains do. Our incredible senses process far more information than ever breaks the surface of our minds... yet our bodies do react to this information, and by dowsing we can read those reactions. This unique dowsing kit from Uri Geller consists of a pair of L-shaped divining rods, a crystal pendulum, and a book which tells you exactly how to use these tools, as well as other techniques that need no special equipment, to dowse for water, lost objects... or even to dowse the sex of an unborn baby. Uri Geller explains how to perfect each technique and how to discover which works best in different situations. The book is full of dowsing games and entertaining interactive exercises - on the principle that we learn and remember best when we're having fun. Detailed practical instruction is given, addressing such questions as: Can the chances of dowsing successfully be increased by making special preparation? Can your mood affect the result? Can the presence of sceptics make dowsing less effective? As Uri Geller says in his introduction, "Although I've opted for a conventional organization, with basic skills at the front of the book and advanced techniques to follow, I've also planned the text so that readers can enjoy it the way I love to read books myself - by opening it anywhere and absorbing whatever I see."

Book Synopsis The Pendulum Paradigm by : Martin Beech
Download or read book The Pendulum Paradigm written by Martin Beech and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2014 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The pendulum is perhaps the simplest experimental devices ever constructed, and yet for all its simplicity it has historically enabled scientists to both investigate and enumerate gravity; the fundamental force that shapes the very universe. The pendulum has also allowed astronomers and geologists to measure the motion, mass and distribution of matter within the Earth, and its stately swing is at the very heartbeat of time. This book explores the many applications of the pendulum, from its employment as a fundamental experimental device, such as in the Cavendish torsion balance for measuring the universal gravitational constant, to its everyday, practical use in geology, astronomy and horology.

Book Synopsis Understanding Pendulums by : L.P. Pook
Download or read book Understanding Pendulums written by L.P. Pook and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-05-27 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite their apparent simplicity, the behaviour of pendulums can be remarkably complicated. Historically, pendulums for specific purposes have been developed using a combination of simplified theory and trial and error. There do not appear to be any introductory books on pendulums, written at an intermediate level, and covering a wide range of topics. This book aims to fill the gap. It is written for readers with some background in elementary geometry, algebra, trigonometry and calculus. Historical information, where available and useful for the understanding of various types of pendulum and their applications, is included. Perhaps the best known use of pendulums is as the basis of clocks in which a pendulum controls the rate at which the clock runs. Interest in theoretical and practical aspects of pendulums, as applied to clocks, goes back more than four centuries. The concept of simple pendulums, which are idealised versions of real pendulums is introduced. The application of pendulums to clocks is described, with detailed discussion of the effect of inevitable differences between real pendulums and simple pendulums. In a clock, the objective is to ensure that the pendulum controls the timekeeping. However, pendulums are sometimes driven, and how this affects their behaviour is described. Pendulums are sometimes used for occult purposes. It is possible to explain some apparently occult results by using modern pendulum theory. For example, why a ring suspended inside a wine glass, by a thread from a finger, eventually strikes the glass. Pendulums have a wide range of uses in scientific instruments, engineering, and entertainment. Some examples are given as case studies. Indexed in the Book Citation Index– Science (BKCI-S)
