Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven is a prayer that has been prayed intensely by the body of Christ. I believe God is answering this prayer by directing Liza to put into writing what He has been teaching her & what she has journaled as to what this will look like in each believers life. This book is a timely message & also a warning to the body of Christ. He is coming soon. Are we prepared spiritually & mentally for the days ahead? Liza talks about preparing ourselves spiritually by having our eyes cemented on Him, our ears hearing His voice & His words of faith & the call for each one of us not to judge but to see the plan of God. Unity is key to the Kingdom. As you journey with her through her many encounters with the Holy Spirit, you will discover the power of intimacy. You will come to know the love of God, experience a supernatural increase in childlike faith, radically increase your expectation of His desire to be present in your life, and be challenged to a higher call and commitment. As Jesus return draws near, it will cost each of us everything. This is the cost of serving Him. Are we willing to walk in this place for Him? Are we yielded vessels that will surrender all if He asks? The Kingdom Perspective is a must read to understand the challenge of the times we are living in today.

I was going through some old files and I came up with some stuff I hadn't published. So I threw it all together and made something out of it. If nothing else it should be interesting as there are some off the wall topics included, as well as some of my attempts at poetry. But if you look at the Table of Contents you might find something interesting. For instance "Was America Founded As a Christian Nation"? Or the history of Babylon or the history of the Nephilim? How about "God and Science"? How about the paganism attached to the Roman Church, who ruled Rome for 1000 years? There are some more familiar topics, always involved with Walking with God In the spirit. Also "Will There Ever Be world Peace" and the "Role of Faith In Politics." I've even included a peace on "Christian Astrology" and "Biblical Numerology." So here's hoping you enjoy it and learn a thing or two.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Christians spend most of their waking hours working, yet many regard work as at best a necessary evil just one more unfortunate by-product of humanity s fall from grace. Not so, says Ben Witherington III, and in Work: A Kingdom Perspective on Labor, he considers work as neither the curse nor the cure of human life but, rather, as something good that God has given us to do. In this brief primer on the biblical theology and ethics of work, Witherington carefully unpacks the concept of work, considering its relationship to rest, play, worship, the normal cycle of human life, and the coming Kingdom of God. Work as calling, work as ministry, work as a way to make a living, and the notably unbiblical notion of retirement Witherington s Work engages these subjects and more, combining scholarly acumen with good humor, common sense, cultural awareness, and biblically based insights from Genesis to Revelation. Ben Witherington has given the whole people of God something desperately needed to make sense of Monday to Friday a theology of work that breaks down the heretical sacred-secular distinction. . . . Offers a work-view and life-view that, if embraced, would revitalize the mission of God s people in the world. It s that good. R. Paul Stevens author of The Other Six Days and Taking Your Soul to Work Conducting a critical dialogue with the theological voices of our day, drawing upon the wisdom of the Christian tradition, and offering a sensitive reading of New Testament parables, Witherington delivers sound counsel on the Kingdom meaning of work and its implications for our lives today. Book excerpt: In this scholarly work, Russell D. Moore relates the history leading up to the new "Kingdom" consensus among evangelicals from the time theologian Carl F. H. Henry called for it fifty years ago. He examines how this consensus offers a renewed theological foundation for evangelical engagement in the social and political realms. While evangelical scholars and pastors will be interested in this sharp, insightful book, all evangelicals interested in public policy will find it useful in discovering how this new Kingdom perspective works out in the public square.

Book excerpt: 'It has been slowly dawning on me over many years that there is a fundamental problem deep at the heart of Christian faith and practice as I have known them . . . we have all forgotten what the four Gospels are about.' With that surprising assertion, Tom Wright launches this ground-breaking work in which he helps us to see the gospel story in radically a new light, and to acknowledge that, for many generations, the Church has been avoiding its full impact and holding back from proclaiming its full meaning. 'Classic Wright: clear, accessible, robust, engaging and challenging.' Paula Gooder in Third Way 'Scholarly, accessible, insightful and provocative.' Christianity 'Wright argues compellingly that the twin themes of kingdom and cross are inseparably linked. . . This is a much-needed reorientation. The book makes its case for 'rethinking' cogently and deserves widespread attention.' Theology

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ongoing task of international development has dominated the headlines and the airwaves as of late, especially withthe establishment of the Millenium Development Goals, the growing numbers of celebrities involved in charity work, and an expanding global awareness of our humanity's interdependence. Nowhere has the challenge of international development been more acutely felt than among Christian congregations and faith-based NGOs. While followers of Christ certainly face a daunting challenge in the fight against global issues of poverty and oppression, there has never before been a time when Christians have been as equipped to help and informed about the situation of our world as they are now. With this in mind, Christians everywhere can move forward in their task of development with hope in their hearts. The articles compiled here by James Butare-Kiyovu highlight the promise God holds out for those who would work towards shalom on this earth, and offer the same challenge that is quoted from the late Dr. Ralph D. Winter in the introduction to this anthology: 'No generation has less excuse than ours if we do not do as He asks.' Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholars are agreed that the central metaphor in Jesus' proclamation was the kingdom of God. But what did that phrase mean in the first-century Palestinian world of Jesus? Since it is a political metaphor, what did Jesus envision as the political import of his message? Since this is tied to the political economy, how was that structured in Jesus' day? How is the violence of Jesus' Mediterranean world addressed in the kingdom? And how does "self-denial" fit into Jesus' agenda? Malina tackles these questions in a very accessible way, providing a social-scientific analysis, meaning that he brings to bear explicit models and a comparative approach toward an exciting interpretation of what Jesus was up to, and how his first-century audience would have heard him.

Dr. Tony Evans begins with an overarching look at the need for Kingdom parenting, our roles and responsibilities in raising God-following children, and how to prepare children to take on the assignments God has for their lives. He then takes a practical turn, with examples and illustrations to help parents understand and provide specific training for kids in the power of prayer, wisdom, loving God’s Word, getting through trials, controlling their tongues, developing patience, the surrender of service, and much more. This book is for every dad or mom who wants to fulfill the parenting role God has given them—not just in raising healthy kids intellectually, physically, and socially, but in contributing to their child’s relationship with God and alignment under His plan.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sarah remembers the exact moment when the relationship between her faith and her entire life came into clear focus. Sitting in her favorite red chair with a comfy blanket and a cup of hot tea, she snuggled in with her Bible and a new book. The book was huge, several hundred pages long, and yet it didn’t intimidate her. Written by the beloved Chuck Colson, How Now Shall We Live? focused the lens of Sarah’s life and spelled out a segregation that she had unknowingly been living with—a segregation between her faith and the rest of her life. She has since come to understand that The Lord designed each and every one of us uniquely and put a dream in our heart that is attached to His agenda for this world. Many of us have felt the stirring in our heart to make a difference with our life, yet we don’t always know how. The key, she found, was to surrender to God’s leading, seek him first, and allow him to do the big things He has planned with our life. In the end, God’s agenda and our dreams and passions will intersect around one very important phrase – a battle cry, if you will – “Make Jesus Famous!” Based on Psalm 145, this invigorating study motivates women to do life differently by making Jesus famous in all aspects of life. Just RISE UP! is a call to get off the couch of complacency, live a life of praise with a humble posture and Kingdom perspective, and step into a life of true purpose. Features include: Verse by verse study of Psalm 145 Snippets of conversations with Sarah’s readers Journaling prompts to help the reader dig deeper Conversation guide for small groups

Pastors, Christian educators, life coaches, workplace mentors, college professors, and any Christian who considers their vocation to be one of discipleship will find nourishment in this book. Few resources are designed for personal disciplers--those who connect with other believers on a personal basis with a deep interest in their spiritual growth. This book fills the gap. This one-of-a-kind resource shows how to disciple others in and for their work. Most "faith and work" books focus on pastors and church programs, or they speak directly to workers. But this resource comes to the aid of those who offer spiritual guidance to working Christians. This guide makes faith-and-work discipleship accessible to anyone who influences the faith of another. With short, readable chapters filled with case studies, examples, and practical resources, readers will learn how to equip others to fulfill their kingdom purpose in their work. Sample topics include: Principles for Effectively Connecting with Adult Learners Structure for One-on-One Discipleship Meetings Research on Vocational Discipleship and Kingdom-Centered Spiritual Maturity Various Leadership Models Scripture Passages on Being an Image-Bearer Selected Scriptures for Faith and Work Principles
