Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join Taylor on his adventure to rescue nine endangered red wolves from extinction! Using the ability to communicate with animals granted to him after his first encounter with Ituria's Alliance, Taylor races to save the red wolves left in his land. He joins forces with Megan, a dragon temporarily turned human, to save Brandon, a young wolf caught in a poacher's trap. With Brandon freed, the poacher's are angry and hot on their trail. Taylor, his forest friends, unicorns, and dragons must band together to outsmart the dangerous hunters in order to rescue the endangered wolves and relocate them to safety. But will they make it in time? Note from the Author: While Taylor's story is fantasy, extinct still means forever. Red wolves once roamed from Texas to New York and everywhere in between, but until recently the only remaining red wolves were in zoos and refuge centers. Many wildlife organizations are trying to save the red wolf as a species. However, until more humans do their part to protect red wolves, attempts to introduce them back into the wild will do little to increase their numbers. Red wolves are valuable members of our natural ecosystem and we owe it to them to make sure they have a chance to survive. You can do your part by staying educated about endangered animals and learning more about these incredible animals!

Download or read book A Way from Darkness written by Taylor Hunt and published by Ekam Publishing. This book was released on 2016-02-16 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Way from Darkness is the unflinching and confessional story of Taylor Hunt's journey from addiction to health - physical, emotional, and spiritual. His parents' divorce set the stage for a downward spiral of self-destruction. The pressure he felt to keep his family together coupled with a deep desire to "fit in" fueled his experimentation with drugs and alcohol. His descent from upper-middle class teen with a promising future to the depths of heroin addiction left him bankrupt in every imaginable sense of the word. Soon, he was fully immersed in the dark underbelly of society and on the brink of death. Finding his way out of the abyss after ten years was neither quick nor easy. A twelve-step program of recovery and the practice of yoga provided the guiding lights toward a new path. Taylor does much more than share his story in A Way from Darkness; he invites the reader to find healing through community, Ashtanga yoga, and ultimately, acceptance.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elizabeth Taylor (1912–75) is increasingly being recognised as one of the leading English novelists and short story writers of the middle of the twentieth century. Successive generations of readers have delighted in her subtle and penetrating exposures of the vanities and self-delusions of everyday life, her special sensitivity to frustration and disappointment, and the marvellous freshness of her wit and humour. Now, to mark the centenary of her birth, Elizabeth Taylor: A Centenary Celebration presents several new critical assessments of her work by leading academics, together with a sizeable number of Taylor’s uncollected or unpublished writings: short stories, including the first and the last she completed, essays on writers and writing, and a selection of letters to various correspondents, including Virginia Woolf and Elizabeth Bowen. Opening many previously unexplored perspectives on Taylor’s work, this volume will be essential reading for her admirers and for the wider study of the literature of her time.
Book Synopsis Land of Milk and Money by : Alan I. Marcus
Download or read book Land of Milk and Money written by Alan I. Marcus and published by LSU Press. This book was released on 2021-12-08 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Land of Milk and Money, Alan I Marcus examines the establishment of the dairy industry in the United States South during the 1920s. Looking specifically at the internal history of the Borden Company—the world’s largest dairy firm—as well as small-town efforts to lure industry and manufacturing south, Marcus suggests that the rise of the modern dairy business resulted from debates and redefinitions that occurred in both the northern industrial sector and southern towns. Condensed milk production in Starkville, Mississippi, the location of Borden’s and the South’s first condensery, so exceeded expectations that it emerged as a touchstone for success. Starkville’s vigorous self-promotion acted as a public relations campaign that inspired towns in Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas to entice northern milk concerns looking to relocate. Local officials throughout the South urged farmers, including Black sharecroppers and tenants, to add dairying to their operations to make their locales more attractive to northern interests. Many did so only after small-town commercial elites convinced them of dairying’s potential profitability. Land of Milk and Money focuses on small-town businessmen rather than scientists and the federal government, two groups that pushed for agricultural diversification in the South for nearly four decades with little to no success. As many towns in rural America faced extinction due to migration, northern manufacturers’ creation of regional facilities proved a potent means to boost profits and remain relevant during uncertain economic times. While scholars have long emphasized northern efforts to decentralize production during this period, Marcus’s study examines the ramifications of those efforts for the South through the singular success of the southern dairy business. The presence of local dairying operations afforded small towns a measure of independence and stability, allowing them to diversify their economies and better weather the economic turmoil of the Great Depression.
