Nechuy-Levitsky ********** Oleksiy Dekan's novel "Kaydash Family vs Zombies" is a real mystery, seasoned with true horror and generously infused with Ukrainian history. This is a story about love, struggle and sacrifice, a tale that I hope you will enjoy. The original "Kaydash Family" is a domestic story by the Ukrainian writer Ivan Semenovych Nechuy-Levytsky, written in 1878. Oleksiy Dekan's mystical horror mashup is based on his immortal, classic work. It is a fictionalized, breathtaking story about the courage and steadfastness of an ordinary Ukrainian family and their fight against the Moscow Empire and Zombies in 19th Century. **********Unearth a Terrifying Saga of Survival, Sorrow, and Love!Dive into a chilling alternative history as the Kaydash family faces a nightmarish twist of fate in Ukraine in the face of the invasion by the bloody Empire. The topic of mashups of classic literary works has gained great popularity abroad, and the number of such books is only increasing every year. Even though this genre is relatively new in Ukrainian literature, readers have already formed a certain demand and expectation for such projects. This book can be taken as another attempt to popularize Ukrainian classics among young people, and spatially to all the people around the globe, who are interested in Ukrainian culture and history. In my adaptation, I tried to show the Kaydashs friendlier than in the original story. In the face of the threat of an external enemy, there is almost no time for petty family squabbles. This, unfortunately, is still known to be true today. I want to encourage you to read the Ukrainian classics, and also not to be afraid of discovering new things. I wish you pleasant leisure and an escape from your everyday worries as you read this exciting tale.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than 5,000 film festivals take place globally and many of these have only been established in the last two decades. International Film Festivals collects the leading scholarship on this increasingly prominent phenomenon from both historical and contemporary perspectives, using diverse methods including archival research, interviews and surveys and drawing widely from fields like sociology, urban studies and film criticism to patent technology and history. With contributors from across the world and covering the major festivals - Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Berlin - as well as niche, genre and online film festivals, this book is an authoritative and exemplary guide to the evolution of these key sites for film distribution, exhibition and reception. Chapters unravel topics such as the relationship between corporations and festivals, the soft power function they can perform for their host nations and the changing identities of audiences on arrival at, and during exploration of, a given festival venue. Tricia Jenkins' edited volume reconceives the film festival for the global, digital age whilst drawing out its historic importance and ultimately makes a major intervention in film festival studies as well as film and cultural studies more widely.
