The whole nature of mythogenes as the creative force linking history and transcendence is then elucidated. Book Synopsis Kaleidoscope of worlds by : Nicolae Luca
Download or read book Kaleidoscope of worlds written by Nicolae Luca and published by Luca Nicolae. This book was released on 2023-09-10 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ABOUT THIS BOOK Every man has the moral right to know his origins! The texts from the Bible and from the apocryphal books used in this book have a personalized translation and belong to me. The translation of the biblical texts in this book are slightly different in some places from the biblical translations that were made after the Council of Laodicea in the year 363. The translations from the apocryphal books are roughly the same, but the translation of the texts in this book is mine. All biblical texts or from apocryphal books are enclosed between these symbols: « » and have the specification with the origin of the text at the end of each text in part enclosed between two braces: [ ...example....Book of Enoch....]. I used this style to create a linear story of the true "history of the worlds" for everyone to understand. The present book ignored the prohibitions of the great council of Laodicea in the year 363 in which many sacred books of great antiquity were banned and called apocrypha. These forbidden books are part of the history of humanity and it would have been impossible to write Kaleidoscope Lumior presenting only a partial history from which some of the most important passages in the history of the world would have been missing. The Kaleidoscope of Worlds also includes a part of the ancient history of the world that today is known only as a world that is supposed to have existed before the flood of Noah's time. The book presents not only that "supposed history" but also a history of other worlds that were involved in the creation of the human species, which is why the book is called the kaleidoscope of worlds.
Book Synopsis Beastly Menagerie by : Pilkington-Smythe
Download or read book Beastly Menagerie written by Pilkington-Smythe and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A modern-day bestiary of the most incredible animals the world has ever seen—with 200 full-color illustrations Our planet is a writhing mass of wondrous life, positively popping at the seams with peculiar creatures. Life has wriggled its way into every conceivable nook and cranny, and nature has belched out organisms into even the most inhospitable environments. A Beastly Menagerie is a compendium of 100 of these most curious of creatures, from beasts that can fit on a pinhead and survive a saunter into space, to sea creatures just waiting for an excuse to smash a ship to smithereens. And let's not forget to mention the remarkable Jesus Christ lizard, the bone-eating snot flower, the pink fairy armadillo, and the zombie fly. This beautifully illustrated collection will delight and bedazzle fans of the amazing animal kingdom in equal measure. Narrated by the affable eccentric Sir Pilkington-Smythe and assisted by his cronies at The Proceedings of the Ever So Strange, each entry is an enlightening and marvelous foray into our world and all its wonders . . . topped off with a soupçon of silliness. An excerpt Sharks are pretty pleased with themselves, and so they should be. You see, they are basically rippling slabs of muscle in gunmetal grey, with row upon row of huge razor-sharp teeth—awesome eating machines that have remained unchanged for millennia. . . . Of course, some sharks don't look so tough. Think of the bizarre hammerhead, goblin, and frilled sharks. Not that they're to be trifled with. And then there's the cookie cutter shark, a sniveling little guttersnipe who looks more like a fat lady's arm holding a kitchen utensil than the pinnacle of predatory evolution.

Download or read book Kaleidoscope written by Ineda Pearl Adesanya and published by Church Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-12-17 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive resource for understanding the various components of spiritual direction. Early mystics of the Near East and northern Africa created the monastic traditions and were the first psychologists, exploring various practices to test the human capacity. In medieval times, spiritual direction was common in the Roman Catholic monastic traditions. It extended significantly into Protestant Christianity in the late twentieth century by predominantly white and affluent organizations. Spiritual direction has progressively become a global, multi-religious and interfaith practice. This book is a comprehensive and concise text from a spiritual director of color, offering inclusive resources and tools to spiritual directors of many faiths and for people of diverse cultures and traditions. Core skills such a deep listening, hospitality, and discernment are presented with cutting-edge lessons on internal liberation, systemic trauma, and imaginative discovery. Spiritual direction is taught by more than 100 educational institutions and spirituality centers in the US alone, but typical curriculum generally does not reflect current cultural reality and growing diversity. This is a textbook for anyone who studies spiritual direction as both preparation for and deepening of their calling.
Download or read book Childhood written by Shannon Burns and published by Text Publishing. This book was released on 2022-10-05 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Things may have been good for a while, but it didn’t last: they argued fiercely and he left. Weeks later, she tracked him down and said she was pregnant. So he moved back in with her and they prepared themselves for parenthood. Eleven months later I was born. By the time my father discovered the deception, it was too late. In this arresting memoir, Shannon Burns recalls a childhood spent bouncing between dysfunctional homes in impoverished suburbs, between families unwilling or unable to care for him. Aged nine, he beats his head against the pillow to get himself to sleep. Aged ten, he knows his mother will never be able to look after him: he is alone, and can trust no-one. Five years later, he is working in a recycling centre —hard labour, poorly paid—yet reading offers hope. He begins reciting lines from Greek lyric poets, Keats, Whitman, speeches by Martin Luther King, while sifting through the filthy cans and bottles. An affair with the mother of a schoolfriend eventually offers a way out, a path to a life utterly unlike the one he was born into. Shannon Burns is a writer, critic and academic from Adelaide. His work has appeared in the Monthly, Meanjin, Australian Book Review and the Sydney Review of Books. ‘Childhood reads like Gorky and Tolstoy—not nudging but shoving the reader headfirst towards hard-won epiphanies with a brutal yet transcendent urgency.’ Alice Pung 'Childhood is about more than reliving trauma—it shows us how literature can offer a pathway to survival, if not redemption. Shannon Burns demonstrates how to soldier on when all hope and dignity are lost.’ Tyson Yunkaporta

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Therapeutic Arts in Pregnancy, Birth and New Parenthood explores the use of arts in relation to infertility, pregnancy, childbirth and new parenthood. It is the first book to bring all these subjects together into one accessible volume with an international perspective. The book looks at the role of the arts in health with respect to the pregnancy journey, from conception to new parenthood. It introduces readers to the ways in which art is being used with women who are experiencing different stages of childbearing – who may be unable to conceive and are struggling with infertility treatment, or who experience miscarriage and loss, a traumatic birth, or grief over the loss of a baby. It also elucidates how art-making offers a means for women to express and understand their changed sense of self-identity and sexuality as a result of pregnancy and motherhood. The book has an international compass and is essential reading for arts therapy trainees and arts in health courses and will also be of interest to other health professionals and artists.

Book Synopsis THE WONDER WOMAN by : MAE VAN NORMAN LONG
Download or read book THE WONDER WOMAN written by MAE VAN NORMAN LONG and published by BEYOND BOOKS HUB. This book was released on 1917-01-01 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This was the customary tenor of my conversation with Joey as we sat before our fire of pine knots of an evening. The lad would point out to me queer kaleidoscopic creatures he saw deep in the heart of the pine fire; but his young eyes never saw the face I beheld there, and so I was obliged to describe my wonder woman to him. It was not strange that Joey should share my confidence in this fashion. He had been my sole companion since the night four years before when I had found him—poor tiny lad—sobbing on the doorstep of a shack some three miles down the river. I had lifted him to my shoulder and entered the shack to find there a dying woman. The woman died that night, but before she passed away she gave the child to me, saying: “He is only a waif! I took him from my poor brother when he died over on the Sound, about six months ago. My brother was a fisherman. He picked the child up on the beach one morning after a fierce storm a year ago. I was meaning to keep the boy always, poor as I be. But now—you take Joey, mister,—he’ll be a blessing to you!”......
